What's the worst Beatles album and why is it Magical Mystery Tour?

>also *delete from discography* then you got a perfect discography

EXCUSE ME

Go to bed Scaruffi!

>Please Please me exists

Nice try, buckaroo.

Bad bait, but I'm feeling generous, so here's your (you).

It's not really an album though.

>the album that made their career

Nice try user.

Depends on which country you live in.
In the U.S. it was released as an album but in many parts of the world it was only released as an e.p. containing only the songs in the film.

i like magical mystery tour more than sgt peppers tbqh

PPM and MMT are actually my two favorite Beatles.

It's the white album and it always will be the white album.
Schizophrenic mess full of half ideas and reused songs

>bait
>album/movie whatever

MMT is shit, so is the film. Especially when you follow up a masterpiece like Sgt. Peppers in the same year.

I'm sorry but the White Album is trash. 2 discs worth of mostly filler

White album might be a mess but that mess is better then DUDE I TOOK EVEN MORE LSD WEW CRAZY WALRUS! the album.

The EP version has Strawberry Fields Forever as well as Penny Lane which carries the cringe stuff

>filler

>USSR
>Dear Prudence
>Ob-La-Di
>Bungalow Bill
>While My guitar Gently Weeps
>Happiness is a Warm gun
>Blackbird
>Rocky Raccoon
>I Will
>Julia
>Birthday
>Sexy Sadie
>Helter Skelter
>Long, Long, Long
>Revolution 1

ok user.

Yeah and then there's another fucking album of nothing on top of that

THIS HAPPENED ONCE BEFO

My digits don't lie user. White album is better then MMT

Really? Mine is George Harrison

but MMT is better than Sgt. Peppers

>BABY YOU'RE A RICH MAN

yellow submarine could have been the best and most psychedelic album/ep the beatles ever put out

if you use the original listing they were going to use of, only a northern song, hey bulldog, across the universe for side one, and all together now, and its all too much for side 2, the album is not just tolerable but kinda great. the across the universe track has the bird sounds tape loops on the beginning and ending from the nothings gonna change our world charity album REMOVED of course and is the version with the wah-wah pedal

the whole album is mixed in proper stereo or the tracks pulled from the yellow submarine sound track album from 1999, but make sure its the remastered version from 2012.

better than revolver, sgt pepper, or mystery tour

Scaruffi is quite okay with MMT, although he rates SP and AR higher.
Anyway it's the White Album that should be deleted.

WRONG

I can kinda agree with this.
MMT just tried way to hard in my opinion.

>listening to Helter Skelter
>enjoying it
>song fades out and I think it's over
>song fades back in
Does anyone have the version that doesn't do this?

Strawberry Fields is one of the best songs that Lennon ever wrote.

I just ran it through audacity and cut that dead space out

On the mono version, it doesn't come back.

link?

YouTube nuked most Beatles videos, sorry m8.
The song just ends where you were expecting it to (without the "blisters" part).

There is no such thing as a bad Beatles song or album.

yellow submarine, let it be, some of their very earlier albums

Yellow Submarine is out there... Also Beatles for Sale can't messed with the overall progression. I still like it regardless.

I've gotta say I have mixed feelings about MMT. While it provides some song near the beginning that aren't great, the last songs, for example strawberry field forever and penny lane are some of their best songs. Oh yeah the worst might be Help! Some good, most mediocre if you ask me

Baby You're a Rich Man, Strawberry Fields, and Flying carry this otherwise dull album. Songs are Hello goodbye and all you need is love are garbage-tier filler

Agreed, though some of their early ones are weaker.

>see thread

Let It Be is amazing.

Here is the album ranking I came up with. Give me feedback about how accurate it is.

>Amazing!
Abbey Road 9.1/10
Revolver 9.1/10
Sgt.Peppers lonely hearts club band 9/10
The Beatles (White Album) 8.8/10
Rubber soul 8.8/10
Magical mystery tour 8.5/10

>Really good
A Hard days night 8.2/10
Help! 8.1/10
Let it be 8/10

>Good
Please please me 7.8/10
With the Beatles 7.7/10
Beatles for sale 7.6/10

>Fine
Yellow submarine 6.7/10

why do you use decimal ratings? what the hell is difference between 8.0 and 8.1?

otherwise i agree

I think you mean best.

>perfect discography
With "Let it Be" and everything before Rubber Soul? lol your standards are quite low.

>doesn't think Let It Be is an amazing send off and doesn't appreciate everything before Rubber Soul

kek get fucked user.

MMT belongs in the trash category, and Abbey Road is 10/10

*more like belongs in the trash meme*

1. White Album
2. Revolver
3. Abbey Road
4. Rubber Soul
5. Magical Mystery Tour
6. Sgt. Pepper
7. Help!
8. Let it Be
9. Beatles for Sale
10. Hard Day's Night
11. Please Please Me
12. With the Beatles
13. Yellow Submarine

In the end the one I always come back to the most is the White Album. It sort of has everything. The ultimate double album.

>Sgt. Pepper before MMT

>>OP IS SO WRONG! HOW DARE ENYONE SAY ENYTHING BAD ABOUT MY BEETLES!!!

Your Mother Should Know
I Am the Walrus
Hello, Goodbye
Strawberry Fields Forever
All You Need is Love

This songs are all terrible and incredibly simplistic, a five-year-old could have written the lyrics.

What the fuck is up with Magical Mystery Tour? All of Paul's songs sound well recorded and nice, while all of John's songs sound like they were recorded in a fucking metal toolshed.

rubber soul is their best

sgt peppers is their worst

fight me

This guy gets it

>Mobile OP here

>abbey road is best
>rubber soul 2nd best

>MMT is worst trash ever

Cuz

>MY NAME IS JOHN LENNON IM SO EDGY CAUSE PEOPLE TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT MY SONGS ARE ABOUT I AM CORNFLAKE DURRR

Paul is the real genius, he's the only one who's even alive.

>tfw no one even acknowledges Blue Jay Way

The chord progression melody and mode change are clever in Walrus. Lyrical meaning may turn anyone off but at least they sound cool/are fun to say. Plus the production is pretty well done. It's no Strawberry Fields, but still good

i dont really hear this desu but i have heard that during this era paul was starting to become a control freak. john songs on MMT are GOAT though some of his best work where as i think paul peaked white album or abbey road

>johns songs are GOAT on MMT

>bait

one of my favorite george songs along with Long Long Long. this was actually my first favorite Beatles song something about the mood that organ sets and the effect on the drums really hits a g spot with me and the reversed vocals and stuff is sweet

walrus, strawberry fields, and all you need is love are three classics!

maybe not necessarily john's golden era though i mean honestly early beatles john is pure love. actually you know what probably rubber soul/revolver was johns golden era but i think like pepper/mmt era john he sort of peaked in this weird way or like had ego death then like was all new and reborn feeling on white album

Lucy in the sky with diamonds, Mr. Kite, a day in life.

3 GOD tier john songs.

Way better then any of those you listed.

THESE ARE JUST FACTS.

1. Let It Be
2. Abbey Road
3. Revolver
4. HELP!
5. Rubber Soul
6. The Beatles
7. Beatles For Sale
8. With the Beatles
9. Hard Day's Night
10. Sgt. Pepper's
11. Magical Mystery Tour
12. Please Please Me

>tfw Within you Without you is a god damn spiritual journey compared to that throw away George song you just named.

day in the life is paul and john i mean that song wouldnt be what it is without paul but yes john's part is god tier also yeah i agree lucy is great but i still like strawberry fields better

but mr kite goes lower on the list for me than walrus or strawberry fields. probably better/on par with all you need is love though

...

Don't understand what's so "edgy" about it.

>Don't understand what's so "edgy" about it.

I'd say Yellow submarine is worse than Magical Mystery Tour only because of side 2. At least MMT is more memorable.

>yellow submarine wasn't memorable

>including Birthday and Ob-La-Di
>ignoring Yer Blues
I agree with your overall sentiment though

>let it be
>bad
nice joke. their early stuff is pretty decent, yellow submarine is awful tho

Just another one to add to the list of why the white album isn't filler user.

I mean it certainly has filler, but the highs massively outweigh the lows. The user you originally replied to who claimed it to be "mostly filler" is just absurdly wrong. In fact it arguably has the same percentage of filler as other Beatles albums given its size.

abbey road has no filler at all

this I agree with even with MMT besides Abbey road though. It's just with me MMT is just so pretentious in my eyes compared to Sgt Peppers.

my digits dont lie, MMT is offical shit!

WHEN I CAME THROUGH YER' DO

>he's the only one who's even alive.
>he doesn't know about faul

...

>including Bungalow Bill

THEY GUNA PUT ME IN THE MOVIE

Thats just an EP. Calm down

paul nearly ruined a day in the life

>Anyone has ever wrote

FTFY

>Song that literally was the anthem for the 1960s and is still regarded as one of the most culturally influential songs ever
>Filler

I don't think you know what that means son

all you need is love is a just a cop out repeating the same phrase 10 times

NO REPLOO

Abbey road is the send off

>masterpiece like Sgt. Peppers in the same year.
Not subtle enough.

Well it's not a Beatles album so there ya go
The Magical Mysery Tour EP is GOAT though
