There is something really comfy about a power plant or industrial stuff in general all lit up at night.
The beginning of Blackhat and also A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night come to mind but I cant think of anything else
Ryan Jackson
What exactly is so comfy about it? You're right, but what makes it so fucking soothing?
Charles Diaz
Superbad Blue Velvet A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night Twelve Monkeys Goodbye Dragon Inn One From The Heart Fear X Spring Breakers Dark Angel Ghost in the Shell Akira Enter the Void V/H/S King of New York Dead Mans Letters
Nightcore is my favorite genre
Julian Campbell
The whole nightly darkness combined with ambience gives it a dreamlike feel, like your relaxed and asleep but still going on a strange adventure in your dreams.
Juan Diaz
Batman V Superman pulls off the transition to night time really well..
Benjamin Watson
Nightwatch.
its slav as fuck horror
Adam Cruz

Luis Thomas
>Anyway, it's almost 3AM, I gotta sleep (seeing Neon Demon tomorrow)
How was The Neon Demon?
Jacob Sanders
Kontroll takes place entirely in a subway and it feels like night regardless of the time
Michael Cox
I can almost hear the industrial drone. The soft lighting also gives it a warm, comfy ambiance.
Something about the city at night really gets me going. Too bad most films about life in the city are the shitty indie or woody allen type films. Im looking for a film about hardcore depression and lonliness
Leo Lee
Posting this as per thread custom.
Lucas Fisher
It was fucking weeeeird. Every once in a while I'd look at my friend (who'd seen it before) and be like "What the fuck, man?".
It's aesthetic as fuck though, and just about everything leading up to Jesse triforcing is fantastic.
When it gets to the eating people and necrophilia I got freaked the fuck out, and I usually love gore.
I still don't know how I feel about it but that's my thoughts in a nutshell.
Christopher Powell
Bad Lieutenant (the Abel Ferrara one, not the Werner Herzog one) Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer Bullet Ballet A Snake of June
Lucas Hall
Alright, they're going on.
Logan Murphy
You sound immature.
Nathaniel Stewart
I am, and I'll own up to that.
Doesn't mean we can't have a good thread.
Charles Bell
i just got back from it.
most visually stunning movie i've ever seen. music was some of the best ever. that's all i'll say. but yeha, the visuals literally have made me feel nightcore as fuck for like 3 hours now.
Hunter Nguyen

Chase Stewart

Nolan Sanchez
Got it all on.
Elijah Cruz
Pretty much every night core has been listed and I don't know how else to contribute so here's a bump
Gabriel Harris
even when it's fake, king kino reigns supreme
Josiah Miller
Seen it twice already.
Cult classic for sure. Nice to see Refn refining down that oppressive visual style he adopted with OGF
Aaron Roberts
Is La Haine nightcore?
Eli Peterson
Takes place mostly during the day on shitty greenscreens but the night time cyberpunk parts of Babylon AD were pretty cool. Rest of movie is shit
Jordan Diaz
The Others
Landon Long
Someone brought up warm power plant lights as comfy at night and I agree, but doesn't anyone else love harsh white lights? Like you're driving along a dark road and you come across a gas station, or a convenience with piercing lights. There's something so comfy and comforting about that to me. Imagine being tired and just curling up inside with hot coffee and listening to the chatter of a few late night customers
Joshua Torres
Yes. It follows the characters in quasi real time. iirc most of the second half of the film is at night
They tried to make a Gotham City crossed with Blade Runner
user please if you find any films that fit these criteria don't forgot to share them here
Kayden Cook
>tfw I made this, but fucked up the position of Night and the City
Jordan Torres

Matthew Nelson
neon demon does visually/music. its fucking awesome.
Jaxson White
Big Trouble in Little China Gargoyles (1972) Johnny mnemonic The Addiction Miami Vice (fuck the haters, i wanted a sequel, directed by BASED Michael Mann)

Guys, I think the thing is, nightcore hasnt yet been mastered
The nightcore magnum opus hasnt been made.
We have to make it
Juan Fisher
Fucking truth.
What would it consist of though? I mean Neon Demon got close but Nightcore needs something else.

Jackson Cooper
i like this
Josiah Cook
It's extremely derivative in plot/setting, but the acting and direction are seriously great.
John Johnson
That's that one that kinda sounds like Equilibrium right?
Adam Watson
It's similar, but not an action movie. More like a direct remake of THX 1138.
Joshua Jones
Mikey and Nicky
John Cassavetes and Peter Falk wander around their town all night. It's great.
Also, directed by Cassavetes, The Killing of a Chinese Bookie.
Austin Butler
pic related
Landon Hughes
Sounds right up my alley.
Parker Price
It's probably one of the best films about male friendship I've ever seen. Also, Master and Commander, but that's not nightcore. It's similar to Cassavetes other films but it's not directed by him. Definitely check it out.
Asher Collins
This movie takes mostly at night and some during day. But the daytime scenes are still pretty dimly lit.
Ryder King
ghost in the shell
Alexander Clark
Warriors
Jaxson Reyes

Jaxon Sanchez
This is great, ive had recurring dreams about urban gauntlet situations all my life, and they are thrilling... Would really recommend watching this half hour doc about a guy who goes exploring tunnels and bridges of New York at night... UNDERCITY vimeo.com/18280328
Other movies off the top of my head...
Judgement Night Cruising The People Under the Stairs
Caleb Morgan
Does The Ninth Gate count? There are daytime scenes, but the majority of the film takes place at night.
Connor Jones
Nice thread
I'd include pic related to the list. Overall a pretty decent, atmospheric film.
Kevin Hernandez
That looks sweet, thanks for sharing
Jace Ward
Caught this on IFC one night thinking it was some indie art-porn film based on the title. Surprisingly enjoyable. First time I've seen it discussed on Sup Forums, nice.
Parker Martinez
>"How do you you feel about this deal where you can't buy beer or wine?" >"Totally fucked up. Totally" >"Oh, there goes our PG rating"
