ETIQUETTE - Include correct format (artist / band, title of release, year of release, cover art, the file type (v0, 320 mp3, FLAC, etc), short description, YouTube sample, link) - Send thanks if you have downloaded something to let them know they did a good thing - Avoid sharing / requesting things that are already on the archive - Soulseek / rutracker are your friends, too - just don't argue in this thread about it - No samples on YouTube, Soundcloud? Drag'n'drop any mp3 on clyp.it - Do not request without sharing first
REQUESTS >I have a request! Did I... - Check the archive for a live link before requesting? - Share something first? - Google "blogspot + artist name + album name"
>It's not there! What now? - No-one will help you if you don't contribute - Share something, literally anything. You never know who's looking for it - If you have nothing, go into the archives, search for "literally any word/genre/band mega", click +96 a few times if you can, check the link works and share that - Now add your request to the end of your share
ARCHIVE >"I don't know how to find what I'm looking for in the archive" - Go here: >>>>archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/ - When searching, limit your search to links only, like so: "desired album mega | zippyshare | mediafire" - Make sure you've typed "zippyshare" and not "zippy", or else Zippyshare links will not be found
>Do not request without sharing first I don't really get that rule. I mean I get you're trying to keep the thread from drowning in requests. But if you know something that's missing from the archive, you're probably actually looking for it and would therefore like to request it. I use play music so I only really own albums that they lack and I add myself. These are the albums I get from the archive, so I don't usually have an album to upload unless I get a download code from a record that the archive happens to be missing. I'm not actually requesting anything right now, just saying.
Ayden Brown
It's not something that can be enforced, people just say it in order to at best diminish the number of requests to a manageable level relative to the number of shares. It's more of a peer pressure thing but that only goes so far on the internet.
Charles Wright
IT'S NOT A REQUEST THREAD!!!
why is this hard for people? if it was a request thread, request away. it's a SHARE THREAD. either share, lurk, thank, or discuss the shares. This is the only kinda thread on Sup Forums where people ignore the one specific rule, it's insane

it's just like damn. idk, wouldn't everybody be happier if share threads were just long streams of shares?

Weezer - Fort Apache Sessions (1995) >alternative rock, Pinkerton-era demos, both the Home Demos/Real Tape stuff and these sessions stem from cassettes that have just recently surfaced, cleaned up a little digitally, and ripped natively from tape to computer. mega.nz/#!pwAGCJKJ!CE0UqDa_rlx-ovAH91GZjP_7wTub_GTG5lZFd4evIHk

>- If you have nothing, go into the archives, search for "literally any word/genre/band mega", click +96 a few times if you can, check the link works and share that
I appreciate that extra addition, but that's not exactly sharing something. It's essentially just reposting something from the archive that someone else shared.
Lincoln Lee
Disembowelment - Transcendence Into The Peripheral
>Death Metal, Black Metal, Death Doom with elements of dark ambient, so I hear you like echos, ahead of the curve and ESSENTIAL, killer symbol sound
You could always try looking up an album on Google. I frequently find stuff on places like Uloz.to. There's also the suggestion of going to a flea market or a thrift store nearby, if you have access to one. Pick up something interesting you see for a dollar, upload it and post it. It could be anything.

Regurgitator - Unit

Find something that doesn't have any active links/isn't in the archive and share it. Too easy to get your hands on albums to share, especially with shit like Deezloader

I've had plenty of albums on MEGA for at least a year and nothing's happened. Just name the folders something other than their album title if you're scared of that. I remove the vowels from the folder names of any large uploads I make.
From Wikipedia: >As widely reported, on Sunday 14th April, music by XL Recordings artist Jai Paul was illegally made available via a fake Bandcamp account. This music was not uploaded by Jai and it’s not his debut album – it is a collection of various unfinished recordings from Jai’s past.
If these were all just unfinished recordings, why hasn't the guy finished them in the four years since then? Geez.
Joshua Wilson
should I turn an album into a zip archive before uploading?
Magma - Studio Zünd (2008) (320kbps MP3) >Zeuhl >Contains the band's first 8 albums, from Kobaïa (1970) to K.A. (Kohntarkosz Anteria) (2004), also includes Christian Vander's solo album Ẁurdah Ïtah (1974) >Contains booklets accompanying each album and Archiw I & II, a compilation of unreleased recordings >Converted myself down from FLAC copies
Does anyone have Armand Hammer—Race Music? All the archive links are dead.

I see it as a trade. I want something from you and I give you something in return. A basic human principle. I did that stuff in school. I barely got sweets in my lunchbox, so I traded cherry tomatoes, radishes, pickles and cucumbers for chocolate etc. Didn't David Hume write about that?
I'm looking for the follow up 'Two Men, 1 Knight', if you got it.

>why hasn't the guy finished them in the four years since then? >because he is a talentless hack who will remain a fucking nobody in the great history of music
