So I just watched this shit since Sup Forums kept going on about how good it was.

The SS scene kind of turned me on.

I don't think this was a very good horror film, it was a bit boring honestly.

Why was the goat a man working with the witches? I don't get it.

Also why didn't they just go in there on the first day and kill them? why drag it out?

Why did you recommended this shit film.

>The SS scene kind of turned me on.

This is the kind of imbecile you share a board with

This is why religion should be taught in schools

What do you mean?

The black goat was the devil you uncultured faggot.
I bet you never even touched a fucking book.

>I don't think this was a very good horror film, it was a bit boring honestly.
I could see how it could appear such to a pleb mind.

...

Because Black Philip lives deliciously.
You wouldn't understand.

Are you guys joking when you say this film is good?

I still don't know if you are.

It's the best film of the year so far by a long way.

I can tell its superficial deep shit for horror fans because they the worst genre fanbase and will eat any pile of shit laying around

>It's not good horror because it didn't have jump scares or torture porn
this is (You)

Its okay if you dont get it user.

It's more so how inept the OP was at coherent thought.

Why did horror audiences dislike it so much then?
>cinemascore c-

Bait harder faggot here is a (you).

I am literally not baiting.

Yeah so it's a shit film and you tricked me.

Great now I feel autistic.

>Why was the goat a man working with the witches? I don't get it.

Op confirmed for dead and for not being delicious.

The goat was the devil. Literally satan.

The movie is based on the way witches were portrayed for many centuries during the middle ages and beyond. Witches were thought to have obtained their powers from satan. The entire plot is about him recruiting another witch.

We don't know what he is,we don't even know if the witches are evil

They ate a fucking baby you aspie, of course they're fucking evil. And he's the devil. No other religious character that was a goat could bestow powers to people that were called WITCHES.

They could be native Americans Who performed human sacrifice

this is bait.

>it was a bit boring honestly
It was building atmosphere. There's a lot of different kind of horror, this one might not be to your taste at the present itme. Myabe you'll appreciate these kind of movies more at another time in your life. That's perfectly fine.

>was the goat a man working with the witches
No. He was a familiar. Familiars were animals that were given to witches by Satan himself. Some of these animals could talk and/or had other special powers. Witches used them to recuit new witches sometimes. It's all part of witches folklore.

>why drag it out?

To corrupt Tomasin and make her one of them. Turning her family against her was part of that process.

>Why did you recommended this shit film.

Because it's a good movie, it's just not your thing. At least for now. Your tatse might change.

When I say "no" he wasn't working WITH the witches, I mean he was working FOR them.

Or for Satan. Familiars were known for tricking witches on the behalf of Satan into doing shit they shouldn't do.

>Why was the goat a man working with the witches? I don't get it.
How

Why did god not help the family?

Why did he let this happen?

Why did she only have 4 fingers?

Because we have free will. If the family had followed the teachings of the bible, they wouldn't have turned on their daughters and the witches would have had no influence on them.

Basically, the devil is using a loophole to trick people into worshipping him. Because that's what the devil does. Lie and cheat.

>father fucks up and denounces the church and leaves the village
Gods always been a spiteful asshole and the devil just swooped in and fucked the familys shit up.

You are literally blind.

Witches were known for turning into animals like wolves and others. Maybe that's a nod to that folk tale? Her hand is like a paw.

This.

You don't suddenly get approached for recruitment by satan or his followers for no apparent reason. They were dark enough in their hearts and ways to attract him.

This is my favorite portrayal of the devil, no meme.

so she was the rabbit the whole time?

It's open to interpretation, of course, but it's a good guess. Black Philip, for example, could be a warlock, Satan himself, a demon, a familiar, etc.

I think he was a familiar (familiars could also turn into human being, like witches could turn into animals), but the people saying he was the devil could also be right.

Who /LivingDeliciously/ here?

newenglandfolklore.blogspot.ca/2016/02/movie-review-witch-new-england-folktale.html

Pretty good review. Not mine, but I thought I'd share.

>but the people saying he was the devil could also be right.
the goat turned into a man, the devil himself, when she's signing her deal with him

You're baaaad.

I like that.

Could be the devil, or not. Witches tales don't always include the devil himself when a witch sell her soul. Sometimes it's just a representative.

>According to traditional Christian belief in witchcraft, the pact is between a person and Satan or a lesser demon.

That's from wikipedia, but I read a few folk tales about werewolves, vampires and witches over the years.

btw, did you know that in folktales, a witch could turn into a werewolf using ointments and oils and that a werewolf who was killed could come back as a vampire?

Why did everyone in the film speak in Shakespeare's language even though they were a bunch of uneducated muddy peasants? That seriously turned me off and I stopped the movie at about the 20-minute mark.

*facepalm*

Yep, your idiocy made a rip in the space-time continuum and brought back facepalming from the year 2005 and made it a thing, just for you, in our Current Year.

is there gore in this film?

There is gore in all living beings. Delicious gore.

>Why was the goat a man working with the witches? I don't get it.

Yes, someone gets literally gored
