Here you go bud

The hair metal musicians were talented musically and technically despite their clownish attire.
Near the end it became a parody of itself and grunge was a refreshing take on rock that had been ruled by a bunch of clowns doing guitar solos.

I dont see it ever coming back normies see it as a joke, and metal heads despise glam metal like some sort of red headed step child they buried underground near the other corpses like nu metal

*strums power cord*

i'm a nu-male and i sure denai

No it was good

graci

Yes

There is a lot of garbage, but also a ton of great songs from tiny little copycat bands that no one noticed.

There was a lot of pure garbage. But the thing with that whole scene, in hindsight, is that there aren't many solid bands, but there are a ton of bands who made a few, or maybe even one good song. Lots of little copycat bands out there who had a few rockin tunes that went way under the radar. This is why I believe GNR is one of the most overrated rock bands of all time, because below the surface, other bands were rocking hard too.

"When the MTV era started, it was hard for a lot of us, especially us older guys who came up before the video age. We were forced to do something we totally opposed in order to compete. It became less of a Led Zeppelin world and more of a Bon Jovi world. Eventually you ended up with these (holds up copy of Look What The Cat Dragged In)...things in makeup. That's not heavy metal. It was a complete slap in the face to everything we'd worked for years to build."

pretty much this

The first WASP album is fucking GOAT

worst new meme desu

t. grungelet

Except for a small bunch of good releases like Quiet Riot's Metal Health it was a pretty shitty genre. Extremely simplistic, cheesy, awfully repetitive. Basically it was the same crap as mainstream metalcore of late 00s.

WASP were GOAT for Glam Metal. I'm glad everyone here is agreeing. Some other ones were pretty good as well, like Twisted Sister, Def Leppard (prior to Steve Clark dying at least), Hanoi Rocks, Van Halen if you count them. There was an awful lot of shite to come out of it as well though. The good bands were really good though.

I hate to be the one who says that, but where are guns and roses

and van halen, bon jovi, the list goes on

Wouldnt call them glam

Like with every new genre, the early exponents produced some work of considerable merit, but standards decay quickly in popular music, and by the 90's most of band where mostly focusing on look while producing crap music.

The thing here is that the early generations like Hanoi Rocks were just people who did music and have their own fashion, unrelated to their music. Later bands adopted the looks and it became, for some of them, the main thing of their band.

WASP is a fantastic band, but I'm not sure if I would gall them glam.

Kix is another band that is listed above, and it's great

youtube.com/watch?v=_jtkHclxRwo
youtube.com/watch?v=UXQ9qNh3ck4

but not glam.

I also think is strange that the first Motley Crue album is listed, instead of Shout at the Devil, which is imho their best album.

wasp and kix are defeninly glam. And the 90s had some great bands such as firehouse and danger danger

guns and roses are considered hard rock and some argue they were the ones who actually killed glam and not nirvana.
Guns and roses came out at a time when glam was becoming a parody of itself and was refreshing.

Glam metal was mostly a thing in 1982-85, by the end of the Reagan years, it had become a parody of itself.

>and metal heads despise glam metal like some sort of red headed step child they buried underground near the other corpses like nu metal

"Glam metal only got a bad name because of a few lousy bands. I thought that Shout At The Devil was an excellent album."
