Being married myself to someone I've been with for 10 years, I can tell you marriage isn't the fucked up thing. It's when people have kids, everything gets fucked up. Suddenly there are so many issues that weren't present before, and the kid starts to come between the couple, and the couple no longer gets much bonding time, leading to all kinds of conflicts.
