What's the most disappointing movie you've seen? Has to be pic related for me. Everything wrong with modern comedy.

>be an adult
>watch a kids movie
>don't like it

Wow, fascinating.

the new evil dead. people acted like it held a candle to the originals. never been more shocked and disgusted by a movie.

How the fuck did this swedish wittol make it so far?
>stream yourself overreacting to shitty indie games
>make millions
>get qt gf
>have 12 year olds lusting after your little white dick
>be the most subscribed youtuber
>now apparently star in movies

Seriously, only in a sick, degenerate, Jewified, morally absent society is such a thing possible

he looks handsome as fuck you can't deny that

>Everything wrong with modern comedy.

Really? Like what? Curious as I haven't seen the movie in years.

As for me, pic related. Shit was absolute tripe.

Not what I would consider a modern comedy, but could you cite some examples

You should consider sudoku

2001 a space odyssey, I was especting so much tho

I watched it 4 the qt gf

Evil Dead (2013) was actually really good, you're just a faggot.

I completely agree. It was just a fucking horror movie. That's it. A generic horror movie. Nothing alike the originals at all. I fucking saw the midnight premier at my theater. I was so disappointed.

>All children's movies are bad
And don't act like grown adults don't praise the fuck out of this movie.
It was my older sister that finally got me to watch it.

It's not a modern comedy, its a classic comedy, in the classical drama sense.

Not the Seth Rogen dude lmao comedy

Comedy doesn't have to make you burst out laughing, a comedy can just be witty and make you smile. The term has been bastardized.

>2001 a space odyssey,
THIS

Such a letdown. Pop culture references HAL 9000 so much that I thought he was gonna be a big bad or something but he died like a bitch within in 5 minutes. And it was boring as fuck too. Most of the movie was just showing off how great the special effects were.

Lawrence of Arabia

I was expecting a great epic, what I got was some pretty scenery with dull, uninteresting story/characters and inane dialogue.

Who the fuck are you talking about?

Omg lol

>a comedy can just be witty and make you smile

Fuck you this is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's pure joy. Get fucked. It's not just for kids. There's a line about buttercup's titties that's not for the kids.

this 1000x

I miss comedies like Princess Bride and the like which weren't full of obvious jokes and nonsense and instead smart, witty humor and a great story.

u mad bro

Hehehe

>Really? Like what? Curious as I haven't seen the movie in years.
There were no actual jokes. It was just "haha aren't we so clever and witty" tumblr-tier shit. Like all of the battle scenes between Westley and Vizzini's goons. The joke is that he's having a conversation with Inigo while they're supposed to be fighting to the death. That's it. Against Fezzik the joke is "he's small". The only funny part of The Princess Bride is when he tells Princess Buttercup that they should be safe in the Fire Swamp.

And the originals aren't just horror movies?

They're very good but they're just horror movies too

>haha aren't we so clever and witty

There's nothing inherently wrong with this.

>tumblir-tier

Shut up.

Now what does all of what you stated have to do with the modern comedy? Which films in particular?

EVERY JOKE IN THE PRINCESS BRIDE IS OBVIOUS.
When's the last time you've seen it?

Robin Wright is a turbo cunt and the only film I enjoy with her in is when she died of AIDS in forrest gump

This whole thread is total fucking plebs. I've never seen so much faggotry in one thread.

I'm not just spouting buzzwords, I actually have a tumblr account and The Princess Bride is the exact type of humor those pretentious millennial retards love. The kind of the shit that has barely any thought put into it and only reads well on paper, if that.

BLADE RUNNER.

What a fucking snoozefest. And Harrison Ford rapes a robot. The only good part were the visuals, and Rutger Hauer, the story should've been told from his perspective.

Hmm. That makes a bit more sense. No effort in the jokes, it's more like constant winking at the audience, right?

Robots can't rape

>No effort in the jokes, it's more like constant winking at the audience, right?
Right. That's exactly what The Princess Bride is, and it's what most modern comedies do.

and what, there is isn't a single beloved classic that you were disappointed by? Not a single acclaimed film that you don't agree with the consensus on?

I will say that some of the reasons/criticisms given sound retarded though

Pacific Rim or maybe Mad Max: Fury Road

The music and visuals are the movie though, the story and characters are secondary. Every shot is just beautiful, especially accompanied by the Vangelis score.

What were you expecting, Total Recall?

le ebin purposeful mistaken identity maymay pewdiepie

They are comedies? The first one was an accidental comedy.

Yes. Are you stupid or something?

Very good movie. Almost as good as Back to the Future, but it's barely funny so I don't get while it's hailed as a "comedic masterpiece".
And I wish the movie had featured more Winston and Dana, it felt a little misogynistic at times.
Dana was barely a character and her romance with Peter wasn't developed at all. She thought he was annoying, he becomes famous, and then they're deeply in love.
Sigoruney Weaver isn't ugly, but she's not the hottest, it's weird that a womanizer like Venkman would immediately settle down with her.
And they definitely wouldn't have called Gozer a bitch if she didn't take the form of a woman. Gozer was originally supposed to take the form of Paul Reubens in a suit, but when they cast a woman she had to be basically naked? Really?

>modern comedy
this is bait
this is face blindness

I don't even know who that guy is and how he looks like, except that he's some youtuber. What do I miss?

So much wasted potential.

Although my love for the original probably had me way more excited than I should've been.

Oh yeah cause kids hate titties.

Dana was the obligatory side love-interest, plenty of movies have them. You actually sensitive enough to get offended by shit like this or are you just baiting?

I loved Fury Road, but the impact lessens when you rewatch it.

I'm not offended or baiting. Dana being undeveloped lowers the quality of the movie.
I am kind of offended about the Winston thing though, gonna be honest.

Holy shit this. Went to the theater to go watch it for nostalgia. Reminded me how bad The Three Stooges was.

HELLO. MY NAME IS INIGO MONTOYA. YOU KILLED MY FATHER. PREPARE TO DIE.

No almost everything in this thread are actually good movies being attacked by pseudo-critics contrarians.

Iron Man 3 without a doubt. The movie that showed me capeshit was going to be shit forever

i disliked this movie when i saw it as a little kid and i dislike it 20 years later

why would you expect it to be like the originals? sam raimi has a very distinct style that was obviously not going to be present without him

Oh no, there is someone out there that doesn't like a movie that a lot of other people do. How dare they, they're obviously just trying to look cool on the internet

seriously what the fuck happened here? i heard an interview with the farrely bros where they talked about how careful they were to keep the characters true to the original, but the sequel turns them from lovable dimwits to malicious sociopaths. it was fucking uncomfortable to watch

fuck iron man 3 its the reason i had to wait ten years between good shane black movies

Iron Man 3 was fun as fuck.

Sup Forums lied

god this movie was so fucking bad i honestly dont understand the praise at all and im a cruise-head

Cruise is part of what ruined the movie for me. He's so fucking old and uncharismatic, and he's playing a PR guy with Emily Blunt as his love interest, who he doesn't really have any chemistry with.
The suits were ugly and clunky. The dialogue was mostly shit. The romantic subplot was unnecessary, and again worsened by Cruise being the lead.
And the movie was too serious, I don't know why, but I feel like the entire thing works better as a comedy.

he really is too old for the really young actresses hes paired with in every movie. just cut the love interest shit out of all his movies and they instantly improve in quality

Doesn't he always have a young love interest in the upcoming Mummy reboot? And what about Jack Reacher? I was kind of interested in watching that, but only for Rosamund Pike.

Under the Skin

bump

it was alright at first.. but just kept going downhill. the fucking ending was so fucking hard to watch.

What happened?

you need to go back ro r/movies you shits.

This as far as fairly new movies go

Great buildup for a shit end

No, the entire thing was shit.

At least Reddit actually has movie discussion. All Sup Forums has is got shitposting and cuck porn.

My theatre was packed for this movie and there was non stop laughter

What state?

Alberta. I'll wait for the inevitable "A FUCKIN LEAF" now.

That's not a fucking state.

Yeah because I don't live in the US you fucking retard. I'm saying my theatre in Canada

i forget.. theyre at some conference thing about some social justice thing and theyre just sitting there yelling shit like retards, it was just so unfunny

Fuck off.

>theyre at some conference thing about some social justice thing

ITT: times Sup Forums lied to you

That's one of the greatest films of its respective decade you uncultured swine

That's easy.

why would you even watch this

>emily blunt will NEVER step on your balls
just die in my sleep already
( ._.) ( ;_;)

I was a kid when I first saw it.

I loved Caddyshack.

How bad could the second one be?

It was an innocent time.

I never saw the originals but I really liked it.

oh, man, i'm sorry. nothing worse than bad sequels.
Is the first Caddyshack worth watching though? Has it aged well?

The only movie I've ever walked out of was Deadpool. I don't know if it was the entry level humor or Ryan Renolds being a faggot. Deadpool was a perfect role for him though, an unfunny asshole.
Deadpool is a litmus test for plebians

I was vehemently against seeing it because I thought it would be memespouting crap, but I had to go see it and it was actually funny.
Deadpool is a good movie. You're a nerd.

This fucking trilogy.

I finally watched the first one a few months ago and I regret every minute of it.
This coming from someone who's watched LotR trilogy about six times.

Its kind of similar to The Princess Bride in that it was probably too quotable for its own good.

Its a decent comedy, still I think.

batman v superman

Found the pleb

THIS

Since when is this movie a comedy? I remember it being an action adventure story

It gets worse. Two and three are unbearable.

It's a light-hearted romantic comedy/adventure storybook story.

I don't understand why The Hobbit movies are so hated, then again I've only seen the first two and I haven't seen LOTR.

I'll give it a try.
