congratulations, my son

Now you can go back to being a functioning member of society

Drugs

noise

make music that you enjoy?

I was at that point a few months ago. Couldn't even listen to my favourite Merzbow album.
I took an extended stay in hospital for anxiety and depression. I'm on good (enough) meds now.
Listening to music still triggers memories of when I couldn't, so I skip songs more than I used to, but overall I enjoy having something playing again.

Take a break and focus on other things you like; watching documentaries, building puzzles, reading, whatever

take a break, do something else

Read. Read books OP.

I do plenty of things besides music but music hasn't always been my favorite and nothing else really comes close besides college basketball. Those are the only things I've found pleasure in doing recently and now I don't have music.

what kind of books?

Read some Tolstoy

What about this?

Listen to nothing but harsh noise wall for a week, it should fix you right up

you'll find something you like once more

i found sweet valley after a long time of not enjoying tunes and damn i'm back in the groove

When I get this feeling I usually put on music where there the artist's image and aesthetic isn't present in the music. This is pretty much cause I get burnt out from seeing artists like the strokes or sonic youth wearing leather jackets and acting like douchbags who taint their music with their image.
I usually put on more pure and playful music like The Shaggs or Ween so I can re-understand how music can be joyful instead of 'serious statements' from shitty bands.
I dunno Op, listen to some fun and playful music, it works for me.

looks like low-quality bait to me.

>how Jews are never at fault and the worlds problems have nothing to do with them

I bet alt-lite is going to eat this up

this, youve made it

move on to throat singing

Sounds like it's time to go to

I'm always listening to music when I'm on the computer, I can't even imagine getting bored of music.

Get into Noise.

Try Grimes. Thank me later.

music critique

Watch banned films, read controversial books, get into all kinds of fetishes and porn, write about what you want to do to people and who and publish it on tumblr, or an even safer method just share it on Soulseek in the appropriate folders! and rock in your chair with glee at every download and perusal! Collect violent pictures, hell anything to just cut through the numbness of everyday existence...

That's a retarded advice.

Move on to a superior medium like film

No, it's experienced living advice, which is why you don't understand it, as you're still a teeniebopper.

listen to something as a musical "palette cleanser"

Take a break from music for a while then come back

I remember when i was 19

the real answer is make your own music but then you'll realize that in order to make better music you'll have to go back and listen to more music because other people have done it way better than you, so expanding your knowledge base is part of getting better

But when you're 19 and think you're jaded then yeah that's what you're doing to default to

This is the only correct answer as far as the eventual desire to get back into music. Sounds too simple, but it works.

What are you going to default to? OP didn't say he was going to default to anything.

No bish, that's what you do when you've lived and ended up with anhedonia for 21 years.

I've gone through the same thing. It could last for a long time, or it could pass. If the former happens, you might want to see a doctor. I know how you feel though, when I lose interest in music it's insanely boring.

>try new music
>you will eventually find something you like

i went from metal straight to hiphop and hell am i glad that i did that step
