The truth is, Spain left the colonies being rich and prosperous, 200 years later they did that to themselves, at most you can blame the Cold War USA/USSR meddling with their shitty socialist/communist revolutions and their military coups everywhere. When Cuba was a Spanish colony, for example, it was more developed and modernized than most peninsular Spain and had the first train railway in what was then Spain, it was an extremely rich place, and now is a communist impoverished shithole where the black population has probably tripled in the last decades, can you blame us? They did all of that to themselves.
You can't blame Spain, you can't blame our "race", (even Arabs know how to use fucking oil to get rich and prosperous), you can only blame yourselves.
