The only good and badass scene in the movie was when Vader absolutely massacres those rebel scum without mercy.
The rest was hurr durr were feminism girl power fighting the evil whites ya'll with diversity and inclusion with bonus niggers every 5 seconds in scene involving the rebels!

The only badass character other than Vader was the blind Asian guy

Better than last movie

Too many people tossing around ideas and phrases about "the force" considering most don't even think it exists and there's been no jedi for a generation

Stupid to have Leia's ship leaving the scene of the last battle, knowing that a few minutes later Vader's ship is going to catch up with her and she's going to be like "uhh we're on a diplomatic mission" because that's believable seeing as you were just witnessed leaving a shitstorm

I liked it being a bit darker and grittier, and I liked stormtroopers doing smart things for once, like tossing grenades into ships

Agreed. Need to see that shit again. I thought they fucked up lightsabers forever after that pathetic shit they tried in episode VII

better than TFA

bit slow up until the final act, but the final space battle, ground battle and vader scene was so fucking good. way better than an elderly harrison ford running around pretending to know whats going on.

and everyone dieing was great. was expecting the main 2 to get saved at the last minute, but no, the writers stuck to their guns and it made it worth it.

8/10 will pirate many times

Thought it needed more vader, if they had come across him and all died to him it would've been great

Agreed.

I went in hoping that they would all meet their deaths at the hand of him, but at least his scene was fucking dope.

Also his outfit looked cheap, so I guess that all the budget went into CGI Tarkin as opposed to the costume of the most iconic villain in fucking anything.

Anyone have that hallway scene?
Need that webm

"This is gold leader, beginning our attack run."

Seeing these guys in a film again was like a nuclear bomb of nostalgia, it was fantastic. Seeing Gold squadron have a moment of glory was so cathartic after 30 years.

Better than TFA imo, they really captured the star wars world so much, despite a few egregiously bad scenes (rape monster, monk v 20 stormtrooeprs, vaders pun) it was gud boys.

Na that was fanboy pandering bullshit, all the brown people were fine, they weren't niggers just brown.

agreed

i was not expecting these guys to show up at all, but actually smiled when they did. the nods to the originals in this felt way more natural than in TFA. mostly down to the directing style I guess

When I saw the x-wings taking off from Yavin (beautifuly rendered) I was just hoping so hard that they would return, i was absolutely beaming when they did.

The nods were great, and much more natural since it is in the right time of the SW universe.

Although I am a harsh critic and have to say, did anyone else notice the blue milk in the first scene, like center frame, in focus. Really odd.

Loved Mads Mikkelsen.
Asian guy was cool, sad they killed a decent character like him.
Racial diversity, yay! Hey I'm totally okay with it considering the rebellion attracted people from all corners of the galaxy...

Thinking about it, the fucking Bothan Spies deserve a story too! Justice!

My friend made a point that the bothans must have lost most of their race for mon mothma to mention it in the briefing considering how many rebels died for the plans.

I care more for the many Bothan spies over most characters in RO, except the robot and Donnie Yen.

I actually grew to really like the robot (not enough to learn his name), I hate that they made him a god with that blaster, but he was pretty good in the scenes he was present for, and his dialogue was probably the best in the movie.

"uhh we're on a diplomatic mission" because that's believable seeing as you were just witnessed leaving a shitstorm

Didn't even think of that. How retarded.

As a horribly biased vader fan and hater of anything rebel alliance-ous I must say the movie was atleast better than the force awakens, which no doubt was ruined by shitty characters, bad concepts, and of course, disney. This movie tried to return to the roots of what the first movies were about. It wasn't the best, but it was decent, to me anyway.

Movie featured quite interesting characters, where my favorite probably was the robot, who shared a gimli-esque comparison in the fact that he was a comedic relief, but he too was quite important and a wellwritten character (like gimli was in lord of the rings). The other characters were there, but didn't take up much space and to me, that was fine. They were different, yet clearly had the ambience of star wars characters, to me anyway.

Shat my pants at the introduction of vader, only to realize that they tried too hard to pay respects to his legacy. He was too bulky in the first scene, and had literally no power in his dialogue. He felt more like an angsty teenager in his moves. That was until the last scene of course, where he showed some old school vader powers and butchered motherfuckers left and right. Strange red eyes (that were over-done, yes, I know original vader had a red visor tint, but not this much). He felt almost CGI in the first scene he was introduced in. Otherwise, great!

Plot was pretty good? I mean, I liked that they all died. You're not a hero unless you die in my book, and these motherfuckers did what they had to do. To me, this was a decent movie. It wasn't horrible like The Force Awakens. I think it makes a nice addition to the wonderful star wars movies we already have.

Vader's pun Jesus Christ.

It would have been good if he'd just said "Do not choke on your ambition" in his usual I don't give a shit if you live way but he sounded too sassy. Like if he had eyebrows/ you could see them one of them would have been raised.

PLUS! The fucking deathtroopers or whatever they were named. Utterly majestic. Not only were they badass in design and execution, they were unique in the sense of their badass radio voices. You couldn't hear shit, you just sorta felt that they were these programmed destroyers, much like the guardsmen in half life 2 that hunted you. Loved them.

It was cringeworthy, and he didn't even say anything particularyh bad to him, maybe if he had protested Tarkins appointment and got angry then vader put him in his place.

That said there was a lot more hits than misses in this film.

that was her lying to the face of vader, obviously? are u daft lol why is it that people cant understand basic plots

They were trying to bridge episode 3 Vader to the OT. Thats what I thought about it anyway.

They still didn't hit shit. Couldn't even kill Jyn or that other retard as they were hanging from the tower completely still.

>no twists

You spoiled fuck that was the best thing - finally a movie without the clichee twists and the neverending love storys

they threw in a grenade into a main characters face and killed him, thats more than any other clone had done man, gotta take that into perspective

word

There was literally none of that you faggot. She's nothing like daisy Ridley wad in TFA, Mary sues don't die at the end. Theres no message or propaganda, you're just a sad lonely faggot that is afraid of minorities or anything that is different from you and angry that girls won't talk to you, or even look at you

plus, it was obvious that even if they weren't superduper cool, the movie made them badass by default. for instance, black has always been the colour of badass evilry in the star wars movies, the fact that they were black instead of white proves their superiority. two, they were lesser in number, and were only seen in moments that were important. and three, the fact that they picked up a small clonetrooper doll. its all maybe metaphorical and a little subtle, but i think they showed enough good bits to make, at least me, understand that they were cooler than the average clone trooper

Yes, that's from the original trilogy. Good Easter egg

that was a stormtrooper doll.

Yes I know of blue milk, Luke drinks it on the farm, it wasn't a easter egg though it was center of frame the only thing in focus, it was too much.

??? u understand what i mean

ahhh misunderstood your original comment. Ha yeah I think they were kinda hitting the audience over the head with it... Like, SEE?? WINK WINK

that and doctor evazan and ponda baba where the onyl references i felt where a bit forced, the rest of it was natural and made sense imo.

A lie is most believable when it has some plausibility as truth

Making Leia's ship escape from the final battle scene is retarded; the plans should have been transmitted to her and tracked down.

Was maze balbus supposed to be an old clone?

It was a bit of a stretch but it wasn't terrible, i watched Star Wars right after it and it still worked, a desperate lie when your being fingered by vader maeks sense.

Niggers will always be distasteful...

Not as distasteful and disgusting as shitheads like you. I bet you never say or act out any of this in public. You hide behind a keyboard and screen and post your little racist drivel and then go pretend to be a normie so as to avoid getting the shit kicked out of you. I take solace in the fact that karma will come and fuck you someday. I doubt you'll amount to anything useful anyway.

Just because of those views? Nahh. I bet anyone as SJW and trigglypuff as you will amount to PURE GREATNESS, doe. Ay the bull is done with your girl, time for you to clean up.

Faggot.

Yeah man because not being a racist POS means I like letting other dudes fuck my girl and that I'm a cuck. I can't believe people are dense enough to actually believe that shit and I know you're actually serious too. You actually think not being a shithead towards other people means you're a cuck. I'm having a laugh over here. I'm gonna go back to my decent job now and hang out with my friends tonight before I fuck my wife. Have fun with your... Whatever the fuck loser shit you do. I'd be angry too if everyone else was happy and getting laid besides me.

anyone else notice the storm trooper sitting dead on a couch in one of the fight scenes in the city

Haha glad I wasn't the only one!

But that basically was OT Vader, about an hour after that in their time he's all 'commander tear this ship apart until you find' etc.

Also, the hallway scene was great to watch but its too incongruous with the Vader at the start of A New Hope. That movie starts with him walking past countless dead stormtroopers and we're supposed to believe that he had god mode turned on minutes earlier. Bad screenplay, bad dialogue, unlikable characters. I cared more about Rey/Finn/Poe after about 10 minutes of Episode 7 than I did about the whole cast of Rogue One. Their death scenes seemed more like writers ticking them off than actual well written, dramatic cinema.

Too much fan service too, Force Awakens did that so much better. Rogue One had too much blatant stuff; ass face from the cantina, the fucking blue milk (isn't that bantha milk, why the hell is it there?) and Felicity Jones's farm looking so much like the homestead from A New Hope.

And Vader's pun, jesus christ.

It had good moments, but it was not a good film. Not even close.

Bragging about wife sex is shit-tier beta bullshit.

First time I passed out in cinema. I slept through first half of movie other half was somewhat interesting. Still Vader scene made me happy

The CGI Admiral Tarkin was off putting and detracted from the story

...

This.

Its ironic that so many people in this thread bitch about the newer movies, yes some of it is warranted, but to say this movie was boring just proves that you are the exact audience they are catering to.

What?

I pointed out several things which are in my opinion flaws in the film. Isn't that the point of this thread, discussing whether we liked/disliked Rogue One? Not exactly bait.

Started shitty, music wasn't anything with starwars and didn't have the right feeling up until the middle when it progressed into being pretty fucking good imo, never thought Disney would save it but they did. Many questions are finally answered

Why not? That opinion makes no sense at all.

...

Not that guy, but as someone who didn't know about either of these things or the milk I did not feel they had special attention called to them.

They had to make it look like the 1977 costume, bro.

sucked ass like The Force Sleeps did

pretty much this.. plus its just softcore fanporn.

So many people talking about "eastereggs" and hidden clues when really they are all just totaly obvious fan fodder.

Quick Nerd Reminder: many bothans died to get into about the second Death Star, not the first one

Kek
That wasn't so much of an opinion as it was an avalanche of bullshit.

Ha, fair enough. Any reason? Not trying to be a dick here, genuinely didn't like the film and i'm trying to discuss it.

This nigga knows what's up

I keep reading that the vader scene was tits. When are we going to get a fuckn good movie about vader. Like his his to power and how he tore ass though the empire. I know being the emperors bitch boy has a nice story in there

Being a racist shithead who boycotts fictional movies because he can't deal with seeing diversity on screen is shit-tier beta shit.

I did enjoy it. To be fair my expectations were low. The entire series is overrated and I think you knew what you were going to see when yo bought the ticket. If you think tfa was better than ro then you are all by yourself on that one.

FREE SHIT!

just saw Rogue One. I liked it. Being 40, I was raised on the original trilogy and grossly disappointed by the prequels. 7 was a return to form but Rogue One took all the things we love from the original and ran with it.

Having watched the originals so many times it makes sense that I would write my own science fiction story. Ittook me a week short of nine years but I wrote an 11 volume science fantasy space opera epic. It has a love story, a revenge story, a redemption story, time travel, a competent magic system, mecha, A.I.'s, robots, space pirates, an intergalactic war, hover craft racing, plenty of twists and jetpacks.

The series kicked off in May with volume one, Volume two: just dropped in September. For the moment they're only in ebook form but Paperbacks should be coming soon. A new book will arrive EVERY THREE MONTHS through 2018. The first two books are available wherever ebooks are sold but it seems there's only reviews on Amazon and goodreads. I gave away FREE copies of the first TWO books to people on Sup Forums last week in hope I could get some reviews ion Amazon or goodreads in return. Some have delivered.
Shoot me an email at [email protected] with the words "give me free shit" and I'll do the same for you. Will send in both mobi.(kindle) and ePub formats

Pic related: The manuscripts in their respective boxes

I was inspired by Star Wars structure to write but I have sense enough to steer clear of overused tropes and create something new.

I hope you'll enjoy.

ALSO, the series has huge military battles much like the ones in Rogue One

For me, the best part of Star Wars has always been the characters. I would rather watch Han, Luke and Leia have a conversation than a big cgi space battle. Rogue One had no real intimacy or heart, the characters didn't have any real depth. In Force Awakens they did, and they were far better acted. Rey and Finn both had an infectious personality, I genuinely cared for them a lot. Nobody in Rogue One stood out, I couldn't connect to them. Although it was nice to see the screenwriters having the balls to kill them off, it meant nothing to me because they were such poorly written characters that I just didn't care. That's why I think Force Awakens is better.

I liked most of it crept for Leia's closeup. Shouldn't have gotten so close. Good attempt but bad effects. We're not ready for that kind of closeup guys. Also thought Vader was sounding like an old man. Hmmmmm. Oh right! Too bad James Earl Jones ages like a normal person.

Ruined, I assume future films will continue to follow a shitty plot with a empowered nonoppressed female rebel that leads a small force against a clear superior opponent, I'd rather rewatch revenge of the sith

Feels like I'm being manipulated. Like they can just put "Star Wars" on anything and I'm expected to buy it. Fuck that. The only money I've ever spent on Star Wars was a ticket to the most recent one.

No one wants to watch revenge of the sith

But a storm trooper isn't supposed to have any personality. Literally spend his whole life being brainwashed into being a killing machine and he turns into fin? He can't bring himself to shoot an enemy combatant but he can murder his own people without thinking about all the while whooping and celebrating...

It's not that I don't respect your opinion, I just think it's stupid.

revenge of the sith is the best film of the original 6

how long did it take you to realise this

I realized it a long ,long time ago

in a retard asylum far far away?

True

3>5>6>2>1> 4

Putting 3 in front of everything invalidates the rest of your opinion

Ha, fuck that's a bit harsh.

Good point about Finn, I didn't like how lightly it weighed on him when he killed other stormtroopers, but having seen how they Vietnammed Max von Sydow's village it didn't make him an unrealistic/unrelatable character I didn't find. It reminded me of a book by Ishmael Beah who was a child soldier in Sierra Leone, brainwashed etc. but balked at the thought of actual combat, so i thought it was ok really.

Did you find Rogue One to have realistic seeming characters at all then? Is it just me that didn't?

8/10 IMO

BETTER THAN EPISODES I, II, III, VII

I didnt mind the characters at all. Maybe when leia said "its a star wars IV a new hope" but other than that. As for harsh, its all for shits and giggles right.

My list: best to worst
Empire
A new hope
Force awakens
Rogue One
Jedi
Sith
Clone
Phantom

I'm sure others will disagree. That's fine.
