Goddammit Sup Forums why has this been stuck in my head since opening day? Nearly 3 months later and it's as fresh as the first time I watched it. Watched the Ultimate Edition a couple days ago and it was even better. Why is it sounds good? The broken, angry Batman, an unsure, misunderstood Superman, a fantastic supporting cast, memorable dialogue, perfect music and cinematography, subtext for days. Seriously, it's been a long time since a film has stuck with me like this.
I think a lot of it is how well the two main characters are written. We finally see the toll that 20 years of crime fighting has taken on Bruce and we see a young Superman coping with his own desire to do good and feeling the weight of the world's expectations of him.
I think I'm going to watch it again. Thank you based Snyder for this gift you have given us. Forgive the nonbelievers. They know not what they do.
I wish more people would realise that Bruce and Clark in this movie aren't supposed to be their iconic selves from the comics or other media.
I can't wait for JL to have the Superman and Batman we all want, because of their development in BvS. One of the prime complaints I constantly see about BvS is 'not muh Supes/Bats', when that's the point of their characterisation in the movie.
Check out some of the cast interviews and they make this clear, even Henry states it explicitly: >"The first movie we see Superman just stepping into the suit and having to go straight into a throw-down with Zod... And he won. It was successful, but it was messy, he did a lot of damage. But this time we see him fighting a new kind of enemy who is psychological [...] and he makes mistakes here too. And these are all things which he has to learn from, and because we have all these characters, we can trail that line slowly." >"We’re not quite yet there at the Superman from the comic books. We’re working our way.” >“[Superman is] the best of us in the sense that he has gone through all the trials and tribulations of slings and arrows of growth, of being hated, of not being wanted, of wanting to do everything for humanity, not being able to achieve it, and being disappointed in himself and still coming back fighting every time.”
Even the recent JL set visit and what Affleck said proves this point. The official synopsis for JL even describes Bruce as being "fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act".
BvS pushes Superman FORWARD to becoming 'real' Supes whereas it brings Batman BACK to being 'real' Bats. Just wait for Clark to return in the third act of JL with that beautiful MoS theme playing.

Shouldn't you be in a Civil War thread? Oh yeah, they never get made because it was a forgettable junk food flick for kids.
Fuck off Marvelfag. We're trying to discuss true cinema here

How many times do you spam BVS threads?
Isaiah Rogers
Exactly. People complaining are the same people saying that DC is rushing their films, yet they fail to recognize the slow burn character development that's happening. This isn't the comics where Batman and Superman are relatively the same experience wise. Superman has barely been operating for over a year while Bruce is feeling the effects of 2 decades of work. He's lost friends and apperently his home (curious to see how Wayne Manor got burned down) and is pretty much at his lowest point. He's shown drinking, which in the comics is pretty rare (even TDKR says he sipped ginger ale pretending it was champagne) he doesn't hesitate to kill or maim criminals and goes as far as branding them. It's absolutely fascinating as a lifelong comic reader to see.

This is my first one, bruh. Go watch Memepool and please fuck yourself while your at it.

>posts laughing Evans >admits to liking Civil War Look, Iron Man 1, Cap 1, Cap 2, Avengers and even Ant Man were decent (Cap 1 being my favorite of the Marvel movies)
But Jesus Christ, Civil War was embarrassing. No tension, no development, no consequences, horrendous dialogue (orange slices, muh Rhodey, anything Spider-Man said) it was shot with flat, dull lighting and the airport battle was a bunch of cosplayers playing grabass. It genuinely made me feel like I had outgrow Marvel films. BvS treated me like an adult and I appreciated that. I've read comic books since I was 4 years old (Both Marvel and DC plus many other publishers) and BvS was one of the best adaptations / interpretations I've ever seen.
So yeah, laugh. Fuck if I care. The movie exists and I for one love it.

A pretty decent movie for capeshit.

I wish they made the punches faster. Doesn't really look like they'd hurt a Superman, even if he's weakened.
Nolan Brooks
In all fairness this is right at the moment when he's regaining his strength.
Well, Bruce IS wearing a metal suit. The punches would be slower but they would hurt a whole lot more.
>Bruce's 'n-no' gestures kek
People complain about how dark BvS was but there's a lot of humour in there. >Bruce: "My foundation's already issued a statement in support of, uh... books" >Perry: "Crime wave in Gotham! Other breaking news: Water -- wet!" >Clark: "Is she with you?" Bruce: "No, I thought she was with you" >Bruce: "Oh shit" >Alfred's lines >Bruce: "I like those shoes" >Lois haggling for better flight seats >Bruce: “I’m a friend of your son’s” Martha: “I figured… The cape” >Lex: "You do NOT want to pick a fight with this person!” >Perry: "But it's not 1938!" >Perry: "Clicks his heels three times, goes back to Kansas I suppose" >Perry constantly making nerd jokes at Clark

I just meant that Batman's punches don't look like they had a lot of force coming with them. Would've liked it if he moved his body a bit more into the punch or have some steam coming out ouf the elbow, implying some steam powered "punch booster" system or some shit, making the arm move faster and with more visible force.
>Well, Bruce IS wearing a metal suit. Fair enough. It's just something that kinda bothered me while watching the scene.
Chase Nguyen
Lol dude I'm op and it not opening some fucking spamming 4plebs shit. Calm the fuck down and take a breath. Seriously, your autism is showing.

OP here. Wtf are you trying to prove you fucking autist? I've never started a BvS thread before, not that I have to fucking prove anything to you. Filter them if they make you retard rage so hard. Simply put, fuck off and suck dick motherfucker.
Tyler Morris
>I never started a BvS thread before Clearly proven wrong already. You're falling apart faster than the DCEU.
Benjamin Martinez
Can we discuss more about Man of Steel? The extended cut still hasn't been released and unfortunately I doubt it will: but the original cut was 3 hours just like the BvS ultimate cut with these extra scenes: youtube.com/watch?v=3DrtXthS7bA
Brandon Fisher
but its not proven wrong. you only proved he's posted those pictures as replies, not OP.
Can you imagine being so autistic that you literally search for previous posts on a Sup Forums board. Fuck I don't know if I can even think of something more pathetic.
Dylan Reyes
As long as it changes the scene right after the death of Zod then I'm all for it. Going from such a heavy and emotional scene to that government satellite scene was fucking awful. And I liked the movie, but oh god why did they think that was a good idea.
Jayden White
Explain user. Sorry been a while since I've seen the movie. What made this edit so bad?

Maybe 4u and me it was better but all my friends said BvS was overrated and both x-men and Civil War were better
What do you want me to say to them?
Jaxon Moore
shit dude, that needs to be released don't even want to watch that video
Mason Phillips
I wouldn't mind if the oil rig scene was extended, though shortening it shows how fast he's able to respond. Might have even reduced the tension of the scene. I rewatched MoS last night and it feels like it's just the right length.
Nathaniel Hughes
Right after the death of Zod, they cut to a scene with the army guy driving along a dirt road when a satellite comes crushing down. Turns out Supes just destroyed a military satellite trying to track him. Army guy is all like "ARE YOU EFFING STUPID?!" then Supes is like "I'm as American as it gets! I was born in Kansas!" then Supes just flies off and army chick is like "He's kinda hot". The tone is so drastically different to what it's following. Perhaps it was to ease the tension and allow the viewer to breath after the Metropolis fight. Maybe it's just me but it didn't feel right.
Jackson Cooper
I agree. That jump is just too soon. Maybe another scene with his mother or Lois reminding him that he was forced into that situation and that because of it, he saved that family and countless others.
Robert Ramirez
Idk dude. Everyone has their opinion but it just comes down to normie vs patrician taste. They probably don't pay attention to small details or lighting, shot composition, etc. X-Men and CW are like McDonald's. Some people just like their movies to be quick and stupid.
