That's what matters at the end of the day, do you work? Are you reliable? Good on both counts. Plus I'm not the kind to micro. That's pretty much the chain of command here. It's normal to see people screwing around for the last hour or so of the day which is fine since the work's getting done. It's rare that we have to pull someone aside for performance issues, but usually those fix themselves. Plus being a gov't slug helps, since workloads in the public sector are much more manageable than the private. That extra pay is only worth so much of your sanity. Not to mention how so many jobs now are freelance/contractor gigs, which is absolute shit-tier as far as benefits and retirement security go.

Depending on the job, 6 hours of honest work, after that the productivity and focus starts to taper off. You can run people into the ground, but it kills morale, and turnover/burnout is 100% real no matter what line of work it is. I'm not your boss, but if you go skateboarding, don't get hurt. Worker's comp paperwork is a bitch and I'm sure there's a personnel rule in there somewhere about unsafe conduct on the job, etc. etc.
is right, sometimes it's best to just listen to what your body is telling you before you got no choice in the matter.
