Anyone watch this show? Worth the watch, or waste of time?

Anyone watch this show? Worth the watch, or waste of time?

it was cool for a while but then it turned lovey dovey and shit and i just wasnt about it.

It's alright, mostly the stuff that isn't about Marco is the best part honestly.

i liked season 1

It turns into a romance story?

If you like White Messiah syndrome sure.

The only good things about the series are the things NOT about Marco Polo.

pretty good but season 2 is off to a shitty start

It's worth watching. Not a masterpiece or anything but good enough.

If you like historical dramas/wuxia you'll probably enjoy it.

Not really. Most of the characters are one-dimensional and the show is really all about Kublai.
If you're some kind of sjw-leaning fag who wants to watch a show filled with english-speaking Chinamen though, you'll like it.

6/10

The main character is bland af, it's an alright show though

Is he best girl?

It actually doesn't in the slightest and frankly I have no idea what that poster is talking about.

They try to sell a love story that just comes off as cringy. Not a bad show, though. I just ignore everything that has to do with Kokachin and Marco's forced crap.

It's pretty damn solid. The only show I've really felt invested in since watching Rome to be honest.

They don't try to sell the love story much at all in my opinion. It's just an extra layer of tension on top of her being married to the heir and also turning into Gollum.

They've been pushing it since the start of Season 1. There is literally nothing they've said or done for each other that warrants that kind of "romance".

>nothing they've said or done for each other that warrants that kind of "romance".

Which is probably why when she asked if Marco loved her as much as she loved him he didn't reply and just walked out.

the story is based on marco polo's accounts which were regarded as overtly fictional at the point of publishing.

I would like it a lot more if the characters spoke their actual languages and it was subbed. It's a decent show, worth watching if you're already subscribed to netflix I guess.

I just don't see where you're coming from here.
I didn't get that impression at all. It's not like Marco has made any ridiculous sacrifices for her, and she is literally insane so unhealthy attachments are something I would expect from her anyway.

It can be tough to get into it but if you're sick of shit like game of thrones and want a plot/characters you can actually give a shit about then it's a godsend.

My mom wants to watch it with me
Bad idea?

Pretty, pretty good.

There's some pretty twisted sex stuff including mother/son incest so probably not unless she's into that

She's trying to get you warmed up seeing all them naked chinese honeys so you'll be easier to seduce.

I enjoy it and am definitely going to finish it.

Only real disappointment is how much they neutered the sexual aspects.
>implied sex
>leaving the camera to perform sex acts
>almost 0 tits

Season 1 had tons of whores, sex scenes and tits which was a nice addition to the pretty good story.

Just walk out the room and take a piss or something when the Arab dude has a flashback to fucking a hooker you should be fine. Or don't.

At the 4th of July cookout yesterday she said in front of dozens of people that she thinks I have yellow fever after they were teasing me about never having a gf. I guess that's her way of saving face, saying that I'd just travel to Asia or move to LA in a few years and find a nice asian girl

Personally that's one of my favorite things about this show. If I wanted to watch gratuitous sex scenes I would go look at some fucking porn. I'm fine cutting back on the sex and leaving more of the runtime for actual content.

POLO

Worth it

Season 1 is worth the watch. Season 2 is shit

Pleb

>two people fall for one another
>they never end up together
>they only see one another once every four or five episodes
>neither of their plots really involve one another
>>THEY NEED TO QUIT PUSHING THIS

If they were trying any less it wouldn't even be there.

....

MARCO
