Why the fuck did they make this character so OP. easily stopped kilo from mentally fucking with her and easily used the force to grab the saber.
even if she is luke's daughter, luke never had that power even from being the son of DARTH FUCKING VADER.
This character is bullshit.
Why the fuck did they make this character so OP...

she is a big strong woman
I agree
it took luke three episodes to even come close to being a joke of a jedi
this whore comes around and just sorta knows everything and does everything
what's the point of creating a hero that doesn't need a heros journey? That's what you get when everyone'S conditioned to watch cancerous shit like 'avengers' etc.
Cause she IS Darth Vader. She is his reincarnation. She (he) has come back to right his wrongs.
id still fuck the shit out of her.
Because she is obviously a skywalker.
Anakin was incredibly powerful with the force before he even knew it.
That why hed always be super 'lucky'
He was too old to start training as a jedi and the council dismissed him.
Yet they ended up chaing their minds and he became the most powerful jedi that ever lived.
Luke was the same, he became even stronger than Vader just by climbing vines and doing handstands in a swap.
The force is unexplainably strong in the skywalkers
This is Jew Jew Abrams and Disney. What did you expect? The plot only needs to make sense to the degree that women can follow along. This means the whole family will buy tickets. There isn't a larger intent of storytelling, science fiction, fantasy, or really anything other than net income and projected return on capital when make star wars XXXIV where Rey and black stormtrooper man join forces with commander riker on a journey to find Will Smith that the whole family can enjoy.
Where are you guys getting that she's Luke's daughter?

Because she is the granddaughter of the emperor

i felt the same way. but if they want to introduce new characters and not have it paced out the same way as the previous stories than they have to allow a main character to just be more advanced.
>inb4 deathstar v3.0

We all would

Totally agree OP, kinda hated the movie tbh. I'd actually say it was the second shittiest movie, after Attack of the Clones or whatever
...
Fuck shes got some fuckin real nice tits on her, any of the ass?

...
Fucking Millennials.
...
Seriously?.... This is the problem you have with this piece of shit.

Anyone considered that maybe Kylo was just weaker than everyone thought?
...
Yeah, she kinda ruins the movie... and the whole franchise.
...
...
Hey man, what do you want from me? My mom's a slut all right.

I considered maybe the trilogy would end differently. Like what if Kylo Ren is supposed to undergo more training to get to Darth Bane level or some shit. I think it'd be nice if the Sith actually win.

First of all, you don't have to explain away everything until you can like it. It's okay for some stuff to just be bad.
Secondly, at what point exactly was Luke stronger than Vader? It was never about Luke to begin with, it was Anakin bringing balance to the Force by killing the emporer. Vader essentially toyed with Luke during their final battle until Luke inspired Vader to do what he was born to do and fulfill the prophecy (albeit a few decades later than they initially thought he would).
There was no point to continuing the Star Wars saga. It was done. Everyone was satisfied with the way Jedi ended. The only thing there was to do further was to tell more stories and develop the universe further. At some point the conflict has to end and everything has to be okay. You only destroy a good series' name by continuing to make content for money after a perfectly acceptable stopping point.
Agreed

SPOILERS Ahead:
Why she was so powerful...
>or whatever
Sadly not topless she ever did
Because Kylo Ren hadn't finished his training and throwing shit with the force is really easy if you know what the force is. Literally the first thing anyone learns.
Also mind controlling a stormtrooper is stupid easy.
Also I maintain the reason she beats Kylo Ren is because he got shot beforehand and was more or less barely on his feet.
for you
You, are gay as fuck.
how DARE you say that about such an EMPOWERED woman!
Star Wars: The SJW Awakens
I only have part of the storyline:
The actual parents wont be revealed till the 3rd episode of trilogy in the series that includes her...
It will remain vague because they havent chose which competing exact parental line it will be. But yes, it tangentally involves Luke, or maybe not
Looks like somebody reeeeaaally liked this movie and is butthurt that anyone else thinks it sucks.
lost idk why
She is Obi-Won's daughter fuckface.
Its because of this that I hold the theory that she might fall to the dark side, those who are very susceptible to force without training usually fall to the dark side. On the flip side Kylo is a weak Sith, he constantly has to fight against the urge of the light side of the force (because hes trying really hard to be edgy). I think a cool flip could take place.
Actually as far as that prophecy about bringing balance to the force, well that actually referred to either Han Solos kid or Luke's kid (can't remember which). See in the extended universe, brought to life in books, Luke actually ended up going dark side like anakin, and he was much more "evil". Thus the child who killed him actually brought true balance to the force.
Mind you that was all before Disney was like "lol, let's throw out years and years of information about this universe and start from scratch cause fuck it we're Disney.
Kylo was pretty badly injured and throughout the movie he was struggling with the darkness, expressed by the scenes where he was mediating for it to leave him. The whole reason he killed han was so he would leave any trace of his good side behind
...
rey was already a bretty damn good fighter with a staff, too. she would be able to duel with lightsabers even if she didn't have the force
>what's the point of creating a hero that doesn't need a heros journey?
My guess is that we're going to be watching her on a different hero's journey than Luke. We've already seen his struggles. We've already seen him try to lift an X-wing and fail.
As a weakling and sub-par Jedi, Luke only defeats the Emperor because of the help of his father. THAT is what that story arc is about. Darth Vader's redemption. Not about Luke being a badass Jedi.
With Rey they've got a new story to tell. And it will entail her being a more powerful Jedi, and facing more powerful enemies like Snoke.
that movie was basically Star Wars: A New Hope 2
snoke a bitch tho
Luke was training the next generation of Jedis secretly, which included her. Luke actually preferred older students, not younglings.
Luke was inventing a mystical sect secret training to make sure the jedi survive, by getting back to their true roots. But at a certain point, his circle has their brain raped to the wrong side, and the jedi were once again being hunted, but secretly. Luke wipes the memory of his young students, so that no one could ever be used to expose another, as the identiites were not known by the bad guys.
Luke realizes that he is creating his own teachings of the true jedi, and when he runs away, he tries to seek the wisdom that emanates from the ancient temples.
Lukes role in every SW storyline is about bringing the force full circle.
So at the end, something triggers the "awakening" in the Force Awakens, and she remembers the mystical side of the jedi training she had received younger
Yeah what the fuck is the deal with that?
Its like he doesnt want to be a sith subconsciously, but on te outside hes trying so hard to be one.
I always thought that nobody wants to be a sith, yet they are seduced by the darkside and inevitably fall into the trap.
Its like hes got it backwards.
Hes a weak untrained sth whos trying not to become a jedi..
Wtf?
Can anyone with better star wars lore knowledge enlighten me as to whats going on with that or is it just a poorly written rushed PoS?
You're right. Disney payed $2 million for the IP, and they're only focused on maximizing their return on investment. Star Wars brand recognition is so high already that they can just shovel out okayish movies, and people will eat them up.
If you think this is bad, wait until Episode 8
Here's the first confirmed spoilers
>Luke has traveled to the location of the first Jedi temple.
>There he finds a mystical tree which is the origin point of the force
>He learns about two twins, one male and one female
>The female twin was good, the male twin was evil.
>The evil male twin kills his parents and the darkside of the force is born.
>The good female twin starts the Jedi order and is the first Jedi
>Rey is the reincarnation of this first Jedi, and not a Skywalker or a Kenobi
Star Wars is literally getting ready to say that all men are evil.
Not even joking. Check confirmed spoiler sites like Making Star Wars if you don't believe me. They have a 100% track record on spoiling the previous films
comicbookmovie.com
each new generation of jedi become stronger than their parents
You're an idiot OP, she had received training in her past before she was dumped on that desert planet. You can clearly see it in the flashbacks. Jedi are taken as very young children, and their training starts early. Darth Vader and Luke are the exceptions to the norm, in that their training started much later on in life. Not the average.
Even if it was just for a couple years as a toddler it still fully explains everything she can do.
the force chose her. she didnt have to earn it.
underrated post here
star wars is shit anyway, who cares.
which is why Darth Vader kicked Luke's teeth out of his asshole
Why do you think this movie has anything to do with the starwars saga?
Is Carlton Banks a white man?
$2 billion*
>Disney payed $2 million for the IP
It was 4.5 Billion
>Why the fuck did they make this character so OP.
Power creep
It's a common fan theory.
They started fresh with Kylo and Rey. How could power creep be a thing with brand new characters?
Hmm, I don't know where I got that 2 billion from. It's very early in the morning so whatever.
EU was never canon.
you mean they are going to do a storyline that has precedent in the extended universe?
>Star Wars is literally getting ready to say that all men are evil.
bwahahahahahaha
Yah god knows, in my opinion a lot is riding on the second movie because it can either make the BS from the first movie worth it or make it even worse. Like for example, why tf did they just gloss over the fact that the core worlds were destroyed? Literally the first six movies were arguably about who would control the core worlds...
Is anybody else excited to see a doubled-sided Jedi saber in action?
>a storyline that has precedent in the extended universe?
No it doesn't.
Maybe not the extended universe. It was covered in the Clone Wars TV show which Disney considers canon.
>Star Wars is literally getting ready to say that all men are evil.
Great idea. Young boys are already abandoning this franchise for shit like video games and Jurassic World. This decision will go over well with them.
if they are weak at the start then they are less satisfying to watch because at this point everyone only remembers the badass moments from the older films and will compare the action scenes from the new films to the best moments of the previous 6.
Of course the Rey trilogy is going to be shit. The first movie was barely "meh."
are you retarded? lots of of the EU was canon.
None of the EU is cannon now.
Disney has specifically stated that the only cannon now is....
>Eps 1-7
>Rogue One
>Clone Wars Cartoon
>Rebels Cartoon
>All books and comics made since Ep7
And that's it.
