First World Meme

When did you realize the "life in first world countries is so much better than life in third world countries" meme is a lie?

For me it was when I came back to Germany after visiting Bangkok.

Depends on what Third World you're talking about.

Hong Kong seems like a really cool place from the Street View's I've seen of it though

Third world is when you are fucked being a random citizen and in the first world even poor people have more opportunities.

It's not first world, it's just Germany.

First of all, Bangkok is very well developed and cosmopolitan itself and Thailand isn't third world country. Second, just because you can get underage hairless boipussies in there doesn't magically make Bangkok better than Germany in any means.
Third, kys you gook getter.

O wouldn't consider Thailand really first world. Sure their cities looks developed but living as a random bastard in the country side.

Pretty ironic considering that you are posting from Taiwan. And yes, this alone makes it a better place for me than Germany. Add to that, that shops don't close at 2 PM, that people are generally more friendly, it's not windy and cold 9 months a year etc., it's really not hard for any place to be better than Germany to be honest

Germany is a first world country. Find me any reputable source claiming anything different. And I'm sure French celebrations are just as tame and depressing as the one in the picture.

>Third world is when you are fucked being a random
"First world" is when the government takes half your salary, and in return tells you what light bulbs you are allowed to use and gives you 2,500,000 muslims that are "more valuable than gold". How isn't that being fucked?

I've been to both your country and Bangkok. Berlin, Dresden, Nurnberg, Munchen are all better than Bangkok albeit less vibrant and cosmopolitan.(Berlin exclude)
But you are right, German people in essence are quite cold and aloof but helpful enough. As for weather, 9 months cold triumph 9 month hot+humidity. You probably visited Thailand when it's rather chilly so you think it's like that all year long.

Here's why, faggot. Most of them live in complete filth, and that isn't the case in first world countries.

For me it was when I visited countryside france and everyone was driving shitty poorfag cars that you wouldn't see in my city (São Paulo).

How are these cities you mentioned better than Bangkok? Can you imagine living for 10+ years in one of these rather than in Bangkok?
I visited in June actually and was told it's the worst period of the year weather-wise.

lmao Hong Kong is not third world

did you banged cocks though?

this. you are a visitor so you don't know all the struggling living as less unfortunate ones.
Those cities are better simply because better quality of life when it comes to healthcare, education, opportunity for fine art related events, equality among citizens...etc.

>5% favela population
>"most of them"

This is the reason why gringos get beaten up here

>Germany
>lots of green areas and trees
>clear air, little pollution
>people are able to grow their own food
>no overpopulation
>decent wages
>low crime levels
>living in harmony with the land

>Bangkok
>few green areas and trees
>smog, waste and extreme pollution
>overpopulated as fuck
>hideous clusterfuck "cities"
>wages are shit
>crime infested hellhole
>it'd collapse within months without importing shit from other countries

yeah, fuck off.

it is not a lie

We South Brazilians aren't favelados, you sack of shit.

what's the light bulb meme?

I would much rather live on the left. Less traffic, more freedom, better air etc etc

The left one looks like a high class living place, the right one is a huge commieblock for office work.

Please inform your millions of refugees this important truth.

i live in Dresden and it's great. those things you mention, like paying half your salary in taxes and health care, is true of course. but that's what makes this country so great in the first place. If you had been born in thailand, you wouldnt have half the shit you have right now. you just think thailand is great because youre a rich german living out of an expensive hotel in bangkok fucking cheap prostitutes every day. but have you ever considered what a country is like where child prostitution is both "necessary" (because of poverty) and tolerated (legally)? if you were born in thailand, you would probably be selling your ass on the street right now

In Europe they outlawed incandescent lightbulbs for being inefficient and environmentally unfriendly. Which is true.

It's also true that you can still buy them in almost any market, if you can be arsed to look.

>healthcare
For all I know healthcare in Bangkok is pretty amazing, people from around the world fly there for some special treatments.
>education
I finished my education, also where do the above mentioned specialists come from?
>opportunity for fine art related events,
Do you really think there's more "fine art and related culture" in Dresden or Nürnberg than in Bangkok?
>equality among citizens
Who cares? As long as you aren't poor yourself you might even argue it's a benefit. Next you are probably going to argue Dresden, München and Nürnberg are better than New York, London and Paris for the same reason.

>wages are shit
Ordinary people working ordinary office jobs in Bangkok can afford to travel the world while still saving money to eventually buy a house.

>Add to that, that shops don't close at 2 PM

This is not exactly bad. Just a question of which point of view. Some poor asshole has to work all night for a shitty wage so people to stupid to shop right/keep some shit at home can go there in the middle of the night to buy some fucking toilet paper or what ever.

>that people are generally more friendly

Pretty sure that is right for every third world/first world country.
Ever heard the saying: if everyone looks after himself everyone is looked after?

>it's not windy and cold 9 months a year etc.

Maybe you are an faggot. Winter is comfy as fuck. Even fall can be nice.

decent bait, but a bit too obvious

If you had used a Chinese city instead of Bangkok, I probably would have bitten.

we just have different idea associated with being good quality of life I guess. About Dresden and Nurnberg, they might not be top notch european cultural cities but they do have interesting art collection in each of them. maybe not better than Bangkok though.
>Dresden, München and Nürnberg are better than New York, London and Paris
never been to London, but Paris is Paris and it's one of a kind. Still, none of them above mentioned beat Wien for me.

Bangkok is a Chinese city.

Real capital of Thailand was Ayutthaya.

Afterwards a Half Chinese king made a capital in Bangkok where all the Chinese traders were.

It's only recently that Bangkok is more that due to migration from the countryside

Most of Thailand is rural but not starving. Just chill with cars and computers

Def second word.

Most beggars and attaching people are also not ethnic Thai. Typical for second world

>shops don't close at 2 PM
What kind of shop closes at 2 PM?

German shops. I was exaggerating, but many small shops and most administrative office close at 4 pm, and supermarkets at 8 pm.

>It's not Germany's fault that Germany sucks. 24/7 service, friendly people and warm weather are for faggots.
>So bad when people have to work :( let's just close all shops at any time so no one ever has to work, that would be ideal

>This is the reason why gringos get beaten up here
Statements like that aren't exactly convincing us your country isn't a third world shithole.

In Brazil, if you don't respect, you lose your teeth.

So it's irrational, violent manchildren who sperg the fuck out about "respect" yet don't give it to anyone else.

In Europe shopping hours are sometimes regulated by cities, maybe 2 PM isn't common, but 4-5 PM is quite often. Of course many shopping malls or supermarkets are still open to 8-10 PM

Brazilians don't take insults kindly, that's all. Being from a touristic city I see almost EVERY day foreigners being beaten up, mostly because they are disrespectful with women.

>5% favela population

Just an addendum, being a north-american, you aren't the one to be talking about this.

Basically from talking to immigrants

Canadians
>dude canada is like the best country in the WORLD everybody wants to live here, most countries are failed states especially America! Never mind the fact that I make $13/h despite 6 years of post secondary education and will never be able to afford a house and don't even see sunlight half the year

Immigrants
>I have a PhD and drive a taxi cab, everything here is super expensive at least in my home country I could afford a house and real organic food, Canada was a mistake

>So it's irrational, violent manchildren
Kek

I think you are Thai diaspora in Germany or something.

>I have a PhD and drive a taxi cab
You have to go back Paki

that's the way I feel, except I'm local and have the immigrant perspective

Where are you from?

You don't understand. Third world countries can have appearances of First world countries but as soon as you look at details, you'll see it's not the same.
Whether it's the people or infrastructure, bureaucracy, housing, etc.
People are less educated on average, they'll throw garbage on the street more often, not use sidewalks and just walk on the road, honk a fucking lot, not respect the public space in general. They are also more corrupted. You can totally give some cop money to let you off the hook. That thing will never happen in true 1st world countries.
Infrastructures may look top notch but then you'll see some cheap materials were used so it deteriorates faster, norms are not as strict as in 1st world countries and not followed as strictly either, maybe some malpractices. Same with housing.
Bureaucracy will often be a nightmare. Whether you want to make new papers or create a business you'll face a great deal more hurdles because bureaucracy will not be as efficient or maybe because to discourage you or whatever.
And of course there is welfare, if you don't have work you get help. If you have children you get some help. If you don't earn enough money, you get help with your rent. If you get sick, you have social security. You have mandatory work holidays. Rarely are there such devices put in place.

It occurs to me to notice that you're posting from Germany; I wonder why didn't you move to your idyllic Bangkok. Probably because you just visited the "for tourist" premises and you have no idea what it's like to live there for real. Pack your things and enjoy the wonders of the healthcare, lifestyle and whatnot. What are you waiting for!

I'm from Germany

I'm still here to save money. As soon as I got enough money to buy a flat and start a small business I'm gone.

>And of course there is welfare, if you don't have work you get help. If you have children you get some help. If you don't earn enough money, you get help with your rent. If you get sick, you have social security. You have mandatory work holidays. Rarely are there such devices put in place.
And that's a good thing. High tax rates and these benefits are institutionalized cuckoldry.
The Taiwanese guy is right. It seems I have other priorities than you people do (i.e. I don't give a fuck about things that don't benefit me personally)

I for one love living in El Salvador.

Good, when did you realize the first world meme was a lie?

I for two love living in El Mexico

Muy bien, when did you two realize the first world meme was a lie?

What is your job?

I don't think is a lie, is just another cup for people I don't really understand.
I'd rather living as a poor third worlder but with a stable family, love and happiness than being a rich first worlder without any of those.
Some people in here have neither of those things and I don't know how they can keep on living, and unironically that same people are the ones always thinking about running away to some European country or sm shit.
