I'm here, what's the matter
No need, this list is just fine.
why is Spongebob so good?
You beat me to it, OP. I was about to make a Spongebob director thread. And is Anderson Wes or Paul Thomas?
If anyone finds a better pic for PTA post it.
Suzuki
Leone
Some explain these to me?
Which ones didn't you get?
Anderson, Fincher, Laika, Hitchcock. But an explanation on any of them would be good.
And Carpenter
The fish looks like Hitchcock's silhouette.
Wes Anderson: refference to the simmetric aesthetic of his movies and the constant presence of centered shots.
Fincher: don't know about him, but I suppose it refers to the grim aspect in some of his movies
Laika: it's a studio that makes stop-motion animations, so the puppets kind of relate to it
Hitchcock: his side profile was iconic and a signature in his TV show
Anderson is known for his Symettrical Cinematography, Laika does Claymation, and Hitchcock's logo is his Profile. Couldn't tell you what Fincher and Carpenter mean.
Nice
look what I found, lads
no reason not to add more
looks like Wes
Perfect. What would be a fit for Goodfellas?
Kubrick

I'm pretty sure Fincher's is the color grading.
I don't get [s4s]
Sup Forums is wildly inaccurate
>why is Spongebob S1-3 so good?
ftfy
Should be a little girl, or something capeshit related, or something from that episode where they go back to the middle ages
some of these reference a style, others reference a specific scene in one of their movies
could be better/10
No one does
Fincher is green filter. Carpenter is like the Hitchcock one in that it's just a director lookalike.
How about this?
There's no gross scary bullshit thing for Carpenter? More people know him for "The Thing" than for being an old fuck.
Which episode is Chaplin from? I don't remember it.
lol, that was pretty good, 10/10
Lil' Tramp, I'd think.
Nevermind, I'm retarded.
probably some shit neo-spongebob ep post season 3 without any of the original writers
Now that I think about it some more, I think it might be Bubble Buddy, I seem to remember him doing a dancing routine with him.
Why does Carpenter always feel like such an old director? He's actually younger than David Lynch. He was only 30 when he directed Halloween.

SB had brief moments of grotesque hyper realism but those were funny. this is just straight-up gore; how is this funny?

Fuck off reddit
Ridley Scott (Sci fi era)

Romero
For Carpenter it should be that shot from the hall monitor episode where Patrick sees the "maniac" standing menacingly in silhouette under the streetlight
Trips confirm.
So it shall be.
Too easy?
kek'd at nolan
Alternate Kubrick
Actually, one of these could be fitting for a good Buñuel pic.
So are a lot of the other directors, Carpenter's younger than people think he is.
He's also younger than Spielberg, Lucas and Jodorowsky and Malick, just to name a few that are already on there.
Zemeckis
Mann
That's funny.
