Our sewage systems are not advanced enough to treat human waste (yet). Most of our shit is used as fertilizer, farmers periodically collect fert-runs from sealed bins we keep outside. In dense urban areas, deposits are made into community bins. And there's always the sanitation police to deal with if you do accidentally flush waste, which can be a source of huge embarrassment if the neighbours or friends see them calling - the ultimate shame m8 believe me.
