The Past is a Grotesque Animal
Thanks chap. It's way different than most of the stuff on the album and I don't know where it qualifies

Kek, my favorite is "Time"
Definitely my favorite song on that album
Hell yeah
I'm gonna have to go with the complete version of Motherfucker=Redeemer, sometimes that song is actually too much for me, it's so powerful.

Death With Dignity
Utah Carol
>gunfighter ballads
My man.
Got to be Saddle Tramp for me
on avery island has better standalone songs
>song against sex
>gardenhead/leave me alone
>naomi
>april 8th
the only songs off ITAOTS that are on the same tier are
>oh comely
>king of carrot flowers part 1
>two headed boy
>ghost (i guess)
Those are basically all their god tier songs off both albums, the rest, while still obviously very good, aren't as like, utterly sublime
Also I'm not trying to bash ITAOTS, and personally I think Jeff Mangum is like one of the most, if not the most, brilliant songwriters of the past 20 years, this is more over the fact that On Avery Island seems to be regulated to ITAOTS's little brother status, when it is actually also a fucking god tier album that deserves more recognition as such 1mo
Saddle Tramp is a close second. Utah Carol honestly made me tear up a bit when I listened to it closer.
>I listened to it closer
will listen it like that later.
But yeah the whole album is pure gold
Have you heard the Return of the Gunfighter. I feel like it should be similar in quality but I dont think it is.
>Have you heard the Return of the Gunfighter.
Havent listened to it yet. How is it?
