Secret Garden

Novels and not short stories?

Clearly Misery.

Fuck, my bad. It's "Secret Window". The story title is "Secret Window, Secret Garden".

The movie has a more satisfying ending.

Cell.

John Cusack

Shoutout to this

My favorite is Stand By Me.

I know the obvious response, but how is it not The Shining. Despite the idiots in Room 237, the movie is undoubtedly deep and memorable. It's one of those films that gives back what you bring to it, so of course retard conspiracy theorist sees illuminati and moonlanding shit in every scene.

Because they're almost totally different

The running man has arnold in a tight jumpsuit, it has my vote.

It's a TV miniseries, but my favorite by far is The Stand.

I don't think it counts. Nor Green Mile or Shawshank. Those are all short stories.

DeadZone all day all night
Sheen playing trump is gold
and Walken is excellent
>THE ICE IS GOING TO BREAK!

when I was young Rose Red fucked my whole shit up

does stephen king have legit fetal alcohol syndrome?

FINE HAVE IT YOUR WAY!!!!!

Don't be sad. All of the best adaptations of his are dramas from his short stories.

It allows for better writers to flush it out, king is more of an idea guy.

>Be me in middle school
>some weird project where we write a short story and then a teaching student or English major at the local college edits and grades it
>I pretty much copied the pie eating contest story from this
>smartass college kid calls me out on it

I hope he teaches downies now

What does Jennifer Jason Leigh's asshole taste like?

Molly Ringwald was TERRIBLE casting for Frannie. Top quality Gary Sinse though, and the opening scene with Don't Fear The Reaper is a classic.

serves you right

>green mile
>short story
choose one

I really liked The mist and Christine.

Misery

The Last Dragon

The Shining would be hard to do properly in a single movie and the way the story flows it wouldn't work as multiple movies.
Kubricks Shining is insanely different than the Book but it works.

Plagiarists are human shit. Kill yourself.

The Shining is the only acceptable answer. I really like Pet Sematary though.

Dark Tower hopefully

:-( I was like 11 and didn't think anyone has had seen it on TBS

Fire
Starter

Agreed ma man

>Be a shithead
>Get caught
>Wish ill on the guy that caught you
>Come here for sympathy

Obviously Misery

twisted firestarter

No I won't
Be afraid

...

In all honesty.. Misery over The Shining, but only because of Kathey Bates was fucking terrifying.

Rainbird was written in a borderline-pedophilic way in the book.

I had a good idea for a Stephen King movie, I think. You know how he lets film school kids adapt his work for their projects, legally he has to accept some kind of payment so he just asks for a dollar because he's a nice guy.

So any, this one film student, he adapts one of King's gayer novels, like Rose Madder or that handcuff book, and he does really well, maybe it even goes viral and he becomes a hot up and comer, but he never pays King because he figured it was just a joke, since the guy is rich as shit and a dollar isn't a big deal.

But it turns out it is a big deal, and King starts stalking him and trying to ruin his life, all the while being a big weirdo alcoholic creep. Maybe the guy looks out his window one night and sees King on his motorcycle staring at him while drinking. I think it would be very spooky because King is already a big weirdo creep. Maybe work in a monologue where he menacingly explains the significance of the kiddie gangbang in IT while holding the main character at gunpoint and forcing him to strip.

It writes itself imo

Oh, you just saw it on the Telly, and wrote through memory? I though you actually copy-pasted it from the story. (That's more like fan fiction). Be more careful, next time.

That was almost 20 years ago. I don't want your sympathy.

You watch your fucking mouth, you little shit.

Yeah, I didn't even know it was a book. I just kinda wrote my own version of whatever I saw on TV.

>31 and posting on Sup Forums

see. that's what happens when you fuck off in school

this

The one where twelve year olds celebrate their victory over an extra-dimensional being by running a train on the only female in the group

I hope you die.

Why don't people call out King on this?

Am I the only one who fucking loved this

It wasn't scary, but the atmosphere was fantastic and seeing John Cusack start screaming in insanity was cool.

Glad they redid the ending. Original ending was fucking garbage.

8mm?

Rose red is fucking terrifying

But steven obly penned the script it was never a book

>that Tangerine Dream soundtrack

Heaven and cigarettes

That scene is mentioned literally every time IT is brought up.

Its one of my favorite stories of his. Especially the subtle Dark Tower references.

This actually sounds like something he would write

You're here 4ever

One my favourite movies ever tbqh

Kind of already did, very similar to the Dark Half.

Idris Elba

Dat thermostat scene

Kinda mean spirited response for something that doesn't affect you in the least.

I hope the Dark Tower movie is good
“I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my eye.

I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my mind.

I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my heart.”

Really, none of you saw his JFK film, fucking amazing.

Story based on King Novel, starring Walken, directed by Cronenberg is simply cheating in my book. Shit wins on those merits alone

but here's the runner up

It's not a film. And it's on Hulu. So that explains it

Anyway

1. 12-22-63
2. Stand By Me
3. The Stand

Actually I'm imagining Idris saying this and it doesn't seem half bad. Too bad that Roland being white and resembling Clint Eastwood were thematically important.

>I hope the Dark Tower movie is good

You know it won't be.

meant 11-22-63

And film, mini series, same thing

why do people pretend he is a good author?
and its either 1408 or the secret window

It's not really that big a deal. The East would think pretty much only comes up in the forward written by Stephen King. Susan or detta talks about him being white a few times, but it's not actually that important for the plot.

king is just good at selling weird scenes in-universe. like the nursery rhyme shit he loves to write.

he has that chimpanzee look, girls dig it

Terrifying.

I've read 1408 but only the first volume of TDT. Did I miss any reference?

salem's lot 2004 version, rosemary's baby 2014 or 15 I can't remember. I know they suck I just like horrible shows.

sleepwalkers was an original screenplay by king but it has cat people mother/son incest and corn as a murder weapon therefore it is the best

Yeah. In the book 1408, the guy picks up the phone and at least once the other end says something like "this is nine, NINE. All your friends are dead."

Which is exactly the same thing Roland, or maybe Eddie, hears on the phone in a Dogan in a later dark tower boom.

It might have even said "tak!" which is from The Regulators/Desperation

Pet Sematary's good. It's probably not the best since things like Shawshank and Green Mile exist but I have a strong nostalgic bond to this movie. It doesn't even have great acting or a script but goddamn the horror scenes are top notch and to date I've never seen a scarier movie than it.

I love that fucking movie.

elba is too young and he is too smooth

roland is old, very old, he could even be as old as the folks at river crossing just before they get to lud. roland is weathered with age too

I think it's The Shining. I don't remember The Green Mile much but I know it was good (also the first King book I read). Shawshank Redemption is good too... But I'm not such a fan of prison movies.

It's between those three and Secret Window which I also really enjoyed. But The Shining is more polished and classy.

LMAO.

>Susan or detta talks about him being white a few times
NOPE

The Shining

It's not a 'faithful' adaptation but when he actually tried one it was awful.

Salem's Lot might have arguably the scariest movie scene of all time, but it's pretty tacky... And vampires suck.

>rosemary's baby

uh...

unbelievable twist in this

It wasn't awful. It was good still. Kubrick's The Shining is a combination of not only the plot but the actors. It wouldn't be the same movie without Jack Nicholson...

i can't find it on youtube, but the scene where the hedge things start "attacking" him it's just so hysterically bad

I liked it. I really did. Had no idea that there was several endings to it though.

I loved this movie as a kid and now I love it even more. It's timeless.

Now when I watch it it kinda makes me wish the internet was never made.

The Shawshank Redemption.

>see picture of stephen king
>remember the kiddie gangbang
>look up the fragment
>fap

anyone else has this problem?

>Now when I watch it it kinda makes me wish the internet was never made.

iktfb

Only a fucktard would insult the classic Salem's Lot from the 70's. Go back to watching The Leftovers, faggot.
