What are some bands and genres Sup Forums ruined for you?

For me it's Death in June and neofolk in general.

why that?

nirvana
metallica
sublime

and a lot of ska, punk, rock and normie genres, i kinda feel a little old, listening to jazz and shit, it's like i hit musical puberty

Sup Forums made me realize the infinite amount of music there is, just lying in obscurity, the infinite possibilities of experimentation, the insanely talented unknown and sad musicians that nobody listens and die with zero success and zero recognition

this place made me realize that music shouldn't be easy and shouldn't be just fun, it should be horrible and challenging and i should embrace pic related as my new god

He's probably butthurt about Sup Forums.

Not so much that they're enjoyed by Sup Forums, but more the fact that Sup Forums has to act like bronies on every single video related to DIJ.

maybe you shouldnt be a faggot who cares what retards on an anime website think. i still enjoy music that i know is objectively not very good, but that doesnt mean you cant get enjoyment out of it.

then don't read the comments...

i only found out about neofolk last year from when i used to browse Sup Forums so I can still enjoy it

I honestly don't think Sup Forums has ruined any music for me, just shown me new stuff

Are you at all aware of Above the Ruins?

Sup Forums doesn't quite know about them yet. If you liked Death in June's post-punk years, then you have to listen to Above the Ruins:

Welll I'm depressed now.

almost every single song on youtube has retarded comments, it's best to just learn to laugh at them

Posting my neofolk folder so you guys can have a list of bands to check out.

recs?

This. Still one of my favs.

Well, what do you know already, user?

Kind dude is the shit my guy. I wanna here something that is close to something from symbols shatter? other than c 93 and sol.

Listen to some Cult of Youth, Inneres Gebirge and Osewoudt.

Thank you! May I also have a kiss!

No. KIᛋᛋ is shit.

king dude? holy fuck. i saw him live a few months ago and he was insufferable. lost all respect and interest in his music. i never wanted to be a person that cared about an artist's personality, but witnessing the pure degenerate idiocy of that man makes it hard to listen to his music with detachment.

Lol.

That's stage 2. The final level is realizing that the "normie" music is the one that is the most infinitely appreciative. I can tell you're a newfag.

Damn was it that bad? I love a couple of his studio albums.

I don't think many other albums have made me feel quite as emotional is this one. I've never cried at a movie or album or anything, but this is the closest I've gotten. Jerome's voice is very powerful to me.

Care to explain? I met him and Kim Larsen a while ago and King Dude especially was a nice and smart guy to talk to.

done
what's stage 3 fampai

If I could find an act that sounded similar to LJDLP I would be so happy, and yes, I know of Regard Extreme, DV, and bands they've played with.

are they nazi's

Nothing, because I'm not a retard who cares what people on an anonymous burmese fishing forum think.

This is what a patrician looks like

stage 3 is realizing that nothing has been done better since the romantic period of classical

The album was about anarcho syndicalists fighting fascists, so no

it's one guy and he's left, plus his music is totally apolitical

What?

Sorry wrong reply, meant to reply to

>plus his music is totally apolitical
uhh have you ever listened to them, or even looked at their album names? "A Passage to Rhodesia"

He takes it at a more socialist angle, if you had honestly listened to that album

Listen to A Country Denied to see what I mean

Nah Reuter is pretty left-wing, refreshing to have one of the most well-known and respected Neofolk acts buck the trend.

honestly death grips, i liked EM and TMS when they first released but after that it all felt really meme and looking back the entire project is really cringey

i don't know if i grew out of it or Sup Forums manipulated my behavior towards it

Are you literally me

grimes

Why do neo-nazis and Sup Forumsfags listen to Death in June when Douglas Pearce is a homosexual leftist?

Here's your reply.

Why that OP ?

>leftist
Is he ? Nobody seems to agree on that .. I am but I don't feel like Douglas is, still have an immense respect for DIJ and don't really care about the potential fascist truth behind it

He was a member of Crisis which was a radical left punk band. This still doesn't mean that he didn't change his political views since then, but I find the accusations of fascism support exaggerated. I consider myself a social democrat and the symbolism in DI6's work doesn't bother me. You can read about the background of some of his more controversial songs in these three statements: deathinjune.org/wiki/index.php/Article:Statement1

Big Black

What a bunch of edgelord fuckwads

thx mate, same politic opinion here (even further on the left actually) and same appreciation of DIJ's imagery and metaphors

Will check your link

Hey, it's the guy with the huge folder from the Neofolk Generals!
Your recs are usually really good. This time I'm looking for stuff that is deeply occult in lyrical content, think Fire+Ice but less well-known. You got something for me?

Stage 4 is only listening to your own harsh noise recordings and nothing else.

This. Rome is everything but apolitical. Not in so far that he propagates any specific ideologies but he plays up the revolutionary spirit of his music extensively.

Read up, he's not a leftist. He's an individual, which is why people from all walks of like who are not easily offended can enjoy his art. He's also very obviously influenced by "fascist" philosophy, not just aesthetics.

Father John Misty

>letting what the retards on Sup Forums think affect your life in any way whatsoever

Burzum desu

which is okay though, he kinda sucks

pretty interessting read if you're into neofolk.

nice trips
post .pdf and I'll read it

bumping for neofolk recs

YouTube comment sections just suck in general, get a Chrome/Firefox extension that removes them.

Please share Loitsu

offtopic fun fact: gothic script was based on jewish letters

Sup Forums here and National Front member. Kind of amazed that they aren't bigger with the far-right desu

OP is an idiot for letting fans put him off of artists

Because despite his views his personal life he's a good musician and part of my British heritage.

post some awen pls

because I like his music
despite his homosexuality, he most likely was a nazi
music there is pretty meh

Have you tried listening to Current 93?
I feel like any band that isn't Death in June is going to have a less columbine following then Death in June just by not being Death in June.
