won this for christmas at my local bottle shop.
I have no use for it at all. I was looking at half barrel planters and they are around $50(aud) for shit material. this is an authentic wild turkey barrel, how much do you erection I should sell it for on ebay?
Won this for christmas at my local bottle shop
>erection
bump
Seems like shipping cost would make it hard to sell on eBay.
I've been saying that for about 5 years now. It's habbit
I assumed it was autocorrect. Maybe you should go with that.
what about pick up only? an add on gumtree
just drink it and get hammered
I've never sold nor purchased anything on eBay that was pick up only. Seems to defeat the purpose of being on a worldwide website. Never heard of gumtree is that like Craigslist?
excuse my autismo, but what word should it be?
I believe we're to understand that it's empty, Mr Hawking.

Go to bed Timmy
craigslist for australia. Im looking for a rough cost
I did not win the contents...as to why it has no use to me
Homebrewers would buy this, but not for as much as you'd think. Shipping is obviously not practical - try craigslist or the forums on a specialized homebrewing website like homebrewtalk
I'm sitting here trying to decide how much I'd give for it if I was local. I mean it's cool and all but what can you do with it? Make a table out of it or something?
check with a local homebrew store, people who distill their own spirits might be interested in that.
antique barrel (non usable) - $80
used barrel - $120
new barrel - $160
promotional display barrel - $70
that's what is giving me doubts
I was going too use it to make olives...It's the only use I can think of
I thought Craigslist was all over. Well then that's probably your best bet. I would probably give ya 50 USD for it if I had a neat idea for it and the cash to spare.
How would you go by selling it?
...
depending on condition of staves $140-$200 USD
...
Has it been pretty used? I mean it looks like a new barrel. If it's an unused oak barrel they can be worth 3k or more each. Used barrels go for about $50. If it has a nail polish smell to it on the inside it's unusable for distilling or winemaking.
>Source used to work at a winery in SA
we like to do things independently that achieve little here.
I am putting the price at $150 equivalent to a
(case of wild turkey101 in the cans)
perfect condition/new
I think in other comments you said you're in aus right? I can't comment on the currency exchange but in my area I can get used whiskey barrels for homebrew somewhere around $120-$160. Usually though I'm talking to the local homebrew shop or microbrewery to broker this. I'd be afraid I'm getting an over spent barrel or a "display" type of barrel from craigslist, so you may need to discount it to motivate people to take the risk. You got this free, so anything is cash in your pocket at the end of the day.
I don't believe the worth
It's an unused wild turkey barrel
It comes in cans there?
premixed cans..smash you hard compared to a bottle of straight.
premixed bottles taste like shit
whats the point when there's no alcohol in it
id rather have a fuckin bottle of wild turkey instead
wait, so it's a barrel intended to age wild turkey that was simply never used? I guess I assumed because was specifically a "wild turkey" barrel that whiskey had already been aged in it.
I'm out of my element on that one then. When it comes to homebrewing beer, we'd generally prefer a barrel already used to age whiskey, wine, etc.
Believe what you want mate. But I worked with the shit and a brand new hand coopered oak barrels go for that much. It depends on size too. Worth more if it's a hogshead, less for a barrique. The wild turkey shit printed on the side is worth nothing unless it's pre used. Which it probabaly is.
...as to why I have no use for it
Craigslist local
Oh I think I know what you mean. Premixed with soda? We have Jim Beam of those here in Florida but I've never seen WT. Honestly I just drink WT from the bottle like a boss.
There is no barrel number printed in the side. It's just the wild turkey logo spraypainted on with a stencil. No way to tell if it's a legit wild turkey barrel at all.
it's odd but that's it
no it's new.
I don't know how to size it. but it ways atleast 50kg
the brand hardly matters when it comes to used barrels to be honest...unless you're a microbrew and want to use it as a selling point.
If you want to know whether or not it was used to age spirits, open the damn thing up and smell it
yeh mate. only drink it straight or in premix cans
Where do you live? Contact a small local winery. Does it smell like oak? You would know, oak smells beautiful. That's why they use it.
if this helps
>this is an authentic wild turkey barrel
why should anyone give a shit?
south west sydney.
the winerys in campbelltown are close
dont stress mate, I say Irection when I say I rekon
context gives a better estimate.
saves anyone giving advice to it'svalue to ask.
you must be underage
cut the cunt in half op, wild turky is shit anyway
I also say nelly rather than nearly
Contact a small winery in the hunter man. That rush looks suss though, it's been sitting around for awhile. Take the bung out and have a sniff. Describe the smell.
As for the sticker. We never used to number them like that but I worked in winemaking. We used to stencil/number them ourselves. No way a sticker would last with all the wine/alcholol being spilt along the side.
how do you get the cork off without damaging in. I can barely get my fingertips to grasp it, it's only sticking out about 8mm
Is it rubber? A true bung should be made of rubber. Get a hammer and bash it out from the side. You won't damage a real bung that way. We used to use a rubber mallet
If it's a new and made from wood. Don't open it. You will decrease the value instantly.
can't take the top off it's bolted on.
the only opening is the cork and I can only see the outside
which is not rubber
how would it go down in value?
Paint a face on, and de-cherry that bitch
