What microphone does Sup Forums use?
I use the Shure SM58

...

SM58 is definitely industry standard, but have you considered Sennheiser products? Their E935 mic is FAR superior to any other mic in the $150-$200 range IMO. E935 is a lot more articulate. in every sonic category.

Are you shure about that?

Neumann tlm 103 through an API channel strip

Fantastic mic.

I bought a focusrite with no intention of recording...

Can someone recommend a cheap mic that will work nicely with it?

A condenser mic would probably serve you better than a dynamic.

Totally necessary

Yeah I love it. It took awhile to get but is great to have with an AKG 414 and Shure SM7b

condensers are only good if your room has good acoustics (and if you want to hear them in the recording)

It's a scarlet 2i2 second gen DAC

Turtle beach px something

Sm58 is trash. Electro voice actually get rid of proximity effect through its long cone design

Recording what?

Just for games and skype and stuff. I want something decent but not more than $50

i use a rockband microphone

The one built in to my computer because it works just fine to call you all a bunch of faggots over speech to text.

OP here, I use my microphone for when I am recording my reviews and other videos.
Also for when I do podcasts and such.
My two bosses who are ex GameSpot UK employees, recommended me the microphone.
Its great.

I like your orange windscreen :3

I use Mr. Microphone.

Shure SM7B is my go-to. Sometimes an Audio-Technica AT4050

However lately it's been a rode NTG-2.

Depends on the application.

I was considering getting the SM7B just because I saw it on Joe Rogans podcast.

Thanks, I got orange because my YT channels theme is orange.

Here is another image of my setup.

Studio Projects C1. It's a large diaphragm condenser made by a Chinese company that cut their teeth copying Neumanns for the Asian market. It's not exactly a Neumann, but for $250 it gets closer than I would have expected.

What on earth is that.

Don't cut me with all that edge.
