>5-star hotel pantry is filled with pre-packaged goods and frozen food
I thought Kubrick valued realism?

>canned fruit

this is considered a delicacy in america

pretty sure that food was stocked for winter

>a nigger cook
They tell you right in the script. Bravo Vince.

It never even occurred to me that the Overlook could warrant a five star rating.

Oh, you think that just because they charge you a lot they buy shit fresh?

Nah, son. You're just paying for the service. The shit you get is the same you buy from Walmart.

>value pack

yeah but
>run by a NIGGER COOK

>he thinks hotels put in that kind of effort

Ramsey thinks they do

>Semi-Boneless
Lmao, what does that even mean?

but pig's feet are pretty delicious, great finger food

Did you know Slim Pickens was originally offered the role, but declined unless Kubrick was contracted to not go over 50 takes a scene like in Strangelove?

>mfw they rewrote dialogue to include racism because they had a black actor
that would never fly today

Not everything that's stocked is for the hotel patrons. The staff have to eat too

Wasn't he snorting cocaine when they showed him in his home?

A lot of nice kitchens still use institutional-style food and non-perishable items.

Literally EVERY kitchen is going to have a dry pantry with flour, spices, etc. I'm not enough of an autist to read all the labels of the items, so something like this very much falls under "suspension of disbelief". Seriously, the fact that even high budget films still slip in Wilhelm screams and other goofs into their movies shows that it's still just an imitation of reality, and all the people producing film knows that. You really are missing the magic of the artform, or you're outright autistic, if you think that every single detail needs to be perfect, or a minor continuity error can ruin a film. Nobody is perfect, get over it.

Plus, the hotel would have stockpiled a large amount of low-cost food for unexpected blizzards, and also to feed the Torrances while they stayed the winter. You'd be surprised at how much 3 months of food for a family of 3 would look like all stocked together.

>in b4 I took the bait

>getting fresh ingredients to an isolated hotel in the mountains

That image, what the fuck

>you're outright autistic
The Shining fans are the most autistic in cinema. There's a list of errors in the film a mile long but they insist Kubrick was a complete perfectionist and that the errors are intentional and full of meaning, instead of being evidence that he wasn't that much of a perfectionist

The shit Ramsay puts up with.

Confirmed for not knowing what you're talking about.

There's Kubick getting lazy, and then there's Kubrick becoming so lazy that the entire floor plan of the hotel doesn't make sense.

He clearly made at least the vast majority of the errors intentionally.

>Fresh fruit
>Snowed-in lodge that can only be accessed with high-performance utility vehicles.

Pick one

>ghost hotel lay-out makes no sense

Gee, I wonder why? Maybe because it's designed to disorientate you because it's a horror movie or something?

>you will never get to experience theater crab legs

They didn't stumble into the hotel during a zombie apocalypse, and it wasn't a bomb shelter.

Working kitchens go through food quickly, so the completely stocked pantry was obviously for the family.

It's all there for the family to eat cause they will be there all winter and they might get stuck for some time
The hotel was closed

there is shitty 5 stars hotels and good 5 stars hotel

t. worked in a shitty 5 star hotel

pretty sure even good 5 stars hotel don't go throught the trouble of ordering thousand potatoes a day though
everything is canned nowadays

Just open your own theater. You could serve anything you want.

>mfw you had no idea the dialogue is lifted from the book

>mfw i need to commit sodoku

book sucked though

I'd serve crab legs.

They close in the winter so all that food is presumably for the family, not guests.

What the fuck was so fucking bad about being bored.

Holy shit the kid was just fine.

What is he listening to?

not strange at all

Sounds.

the film crew let him out of the freezer

Jazz.

This asshole annoys me. He's clearly playing up his reaction. It looks so forced. Physically cringing and breathing heavily because of some mediocre headphones? Fucking calm down dude.

What were you doing when you realised Kubrick worked with both Nabokov and Stephen King.

The Overlook isn't a 5-star hotel anymore. Due to it's sordid past and constantly changing hands it's actually pretty mediocre.

>not feet food

you blew it user

>no anvil rental

Shit theatre
