Hey Sup Forums britfag here...

if they do what trump says he wants to do it will be awesome. all the good is kept while getting rid of all the bad but no one wants to do that and instead just wanna fight
the problem is democrats will not let this happen and republicans will not let this happen. in the usa our politics have gone to the point where if the idea comes from the opposite side it is bad, end of discussion. if republicans had a cure for all forms of cancer with no side effects democrats would say it was evil

personally i hope obamacare is destroyed since its fucking useless. unless they actively try to make something worse there is no way what they put forward will be worse

...

How is it useless? Lots more people have health insurance now because of it, even with the cost hike this year.

It helps niggers. It doesn't help productive members of society

People have insurance, but they can't afford their premiums, and critical patients are getting worse and worse as wait times become longer and longer. There's nothing great about Obama Care. We were better off before.

Basically what they are going to do is "repeal" it in name and then reinstate the exact same thing with the common sense alterations that both democrats and republicans were trying to put towards the ACA but the tea party and anti government conservatives who were elected on a "shut down the government" initiative wouldn't let through. It's a marketing thing, not a serious change. 90% of people won't see a change. But democrats will scream that they've ruined america and conservatives will say there are not similarities and this is super new.

It's so wierd that other countries outside of America know what's going on in our political system...

considering the fact that obamacare has increased the cost of health insurance in most states while simultaneously lowering coverage its not surprising that it's going to be repealed.

Public health insurance is a good idea. Restricting it so that 2 companies get a virtual monopoly is not.

Certainly possible, britfag. Not easy from what I've been reading, but if it does we'll be back to people being denied insurance for greedy reasons. People can bitch about the ACA but there are people that need this insurance to help pay for life saving treatments and despite what he says, Trump has no actual plan to replace it. I've even heard that one replacement was just a rebranded ACA which means people would go without insurance while Republicans bicker over another bill just so they can take credit for healthcare reform. It's truly stooping to a pathetic low, but sadly they've stooped lower than this in the past.

it pays for nothing. i have to pay 6k per person on the plan before it will cover anything and then it only pays what they feel is owed/acceptable. meaning if i had a hospital bill for 10k i'd have to pay 6k out of pocket then hoe they will pay the other 4k. but they could decide they only owe 2k or that i didnt need whatever i got thus they don't pay
to use my insurance for myself or family i have to pay 12k on top of what i pay yearly which is 312/month since i get it through work. thats 15744 if a year if i paid the bare min and they actually covered me.
yes i have used it and it didnt cover the physical therapy since i didnt need it according to them when 3 different doctors said i needed it to make a full recovery.
its fucking useless

what are the proposed modifications? I'm listening

The only way you 'repeal' Obamacare is to get rid of the pre-existing conditions exclusion.

If that stays in, you still have Obamacare and the economics don't work.

That's going to hurt Republicans, who are complete pussies when it comes to people not liking them, so they won't take it out and costs will continue to sky-rocket until Democrats re-take power and push through single-payer, nationalized healthcare.

Fucking bullshit.

I'm an American and I can honestly say that not keeping up with other countries bullshit is not being ignorant but just not giving a fuck about anyone else but ourselves, you fags should worry about yourselves.

Well, we have some idea of what's going on in Britain. It makes sense that they also have some idea of what's going on here.

canada fag here. what you gotta understand is their "obamacare" does not work like our national healthcare (canada and the uk are pretty much the same in this regard).

where ours is government regulated, theirs is some sham that is regulated by the free market. its really retarded.

Anybody here talking about America's political issues who is not an American is a jealous fag worried about the next person.

>single-payer, nationalized healthcare

Which is exactly what this country needs to ensure the health of its own people.

Please continue addressing your concerns for America while you're not living here. It's like we're celebrities to the rest of the world and we don't even know our fanbase.

I'd agree if it weren't for us following Brexit and Scottish independence campaigns.

Trump worries me in general. I can see him setting America back fifty years and having his own Iraq war. His reach doesn't just affect the US.

This. Why America is a first world country without nationalised healthcare truly baffles me.

No not at all, no American gives any fuck about Britain unless you work in any Trade requiring you to be or a liberal fag thinking he's keeping up with something of value after he now hates trump, yet, he will never leave America. Soon that person will learn better and forget all together

ACA isn't perfect, but the blame falls upon the morons who are afraid of single-payer healthcare. Reform was attempted under Clinton and as soon as the Republicans aired ads making vague claims that it wouldn't work, the sheep flipped their shit and killed it. Then Obama and the Democrats made an attempt and Republicans and health insurance lobbyists came and watered it down until it became a shell of its former self. That's what's really retarded if you ask me.

I truly feel that the rest of the world talks with their families and watches our elections and news like we're a reality TV show with some fucking twists and plot that the whole world anticipates all week

Republicans don't care about Americans. They are all bought by corporations. It's not democrat va republican. It's citizen vs corporation.

America is like a great topic to start a conversation with a women at a bar with, like "So, have you heard the news? Black lives matter is now dominating the elections converting people into liberal Americans, and yet, Trump won the election! Dun Dun Duuuunnnn.... "

>Implying I care what a Trumpfag thinks

You're all ignorant sheep who willfully ignore everything except for the unconvincing bullshit Trump and Breitbart feed you. You accuse the main parties of being crooked but you vote for a rich man who fills his cabinet with his supporters and uses his power to support his own business interests. And we still have very little from him in the way of policy proposals.

Only an american would be stupid enough to brag about being ignorant to the rest of the world and it's happenings.

>ACA isn't perfect, but the blame falls upon the morons who are afraid of single-payer healthcare

This reminds me of the memes going about on Sup Forums when Obamacare was being introduced. They made out it was communism, when in actual fact it just wants to make healthcare available. Genuinely makes me feel sad for any poor americans with crap healthcare options.

I agree. The overwhelming majority of Republicans are looking out solely for business interests.

Trump and the GOP are going to try to transform America into the shitshow they think is best. But they're inherently low-IQ morons so it's going to be terrible except for rich people.

If it gets bad enough, I am going to start disappearing right-wingers in shallow graves in the country.

Then the women at the bar is like, "OmG no fray Dat happnt.. I Kant believe dat.. I haven't really been keeping up with de show, I hafent got the time lately, I'm still in America 2015 so donft spoil it for me yah??"""

If you're for it or against it what ever...Here's the reality....I've been with the same company for 10 years... 4 years ago my health insurance was around $94 a month with a $1,500 deductible. As of 1-1-17 (same company) I'm now paying $280 a month with $5,000 deductible, and now I can only see certain Dr's in my area. So.. you Brit fags and Canooks don't understand our system. Obama Care sucks!!

And only a hater would make funny of someone while talking of them everyday

>its fucking useless

This.
Non and barely working poor already had medicaid.
Most of the uninsured before Obamacare they were crying about were just healthy college age people who just weren't paying the insurance companies.
We actually lost our good insurance because it literally doubled after Obamacare.

I'm sure that as a britfag you are massively misinformed about what the ACA is
it does not provide health care to anyone
it does not provide health insurance to anyone
it does not even allow everyone to buy health insurance

what it does do is require everyone to buy health insurance
that gives the insurance companies a captive consumer base
and now back to more things the ACA doesn't do
it does not regulate health insurance rates
it does not require coverage of pre-existing conditions
so the insurance companies can charge w/e they want
and deny whomever they want coverage
and call everything pre-existing so the insured has to go to court to get a medical cost covered

and because it requires everyone to buy health insurance but does not require insurance companies to insure everyone
then the people that can't get insurance have to pay $3000 every year to the government for not qualifying for insurance

as much as I don't want a socialized health care system
I would prefer that to the crony-capitalist bullshit that is Obamacare

>They made out it was communism, when in actual fact it just wants to make healthcare available

This is a very unfortunate truth. The Red Scare has convinced people that any and all government welfare is a slippery slope into a Bolshevist police state. I'm no soviet apologist, but the fact that so many people have a deep fear of socialism and basic welfare programs is unfortunate to me.

That's literally what the rest of the world who talks of and to make a thread about hating on America looks like, exactly what they are.. a hater blaming Americans to be ignorant.

>a hater blaming Americans to be ignorant
Nice english there amerifat.

Literally any country can talk shit about American politics except brits. They're just as fucked in the head. Enjoy having Theresa V& you when you search for 'girls fisting each other' on google.

Thank you for giving an American your opinion, even though we don't care it still makes me happy that you're so interested in our country, I won't return the favor.

This is just a way for the government to keep pissing off. This isn't even important. Health care will never be affordable for all in our lifetime. A capitalist world just won't allow it.

You got to admit, this was pretty funny, am I right?

>He thinks I'm British

Out of all the possible rebuttals available to defend yourself, you choose to hate on grammar?

Ohhh yeah, the American got them trips! We stay winning.. Don't recognize them and im outta here.... in the meantime. Go fuck yourseeeelllves!!

>Trump supporters think there are no American leftists

ITT: butthurt shitposters derail a serious political discussion

I thought that was the problem with Trump supporters in general, that they don't really think at all.

I tried to write a rebuttal, but i wasn't sure if exactly what your stance was; on account of your horrible grammar.

>Thats literally what the rest of the world who talks of and to make a thread about hating on America looks like exactly what they are
Not just a horrible run on sentence with several unnecessary words and clauses but this part:
>who talks of and to make a thread about
That 'to' in there really makes things confusing.

>a hater blaming Americans to be ignorant
This is the point of your post I suppose, but it makes no sense to me.

Is the rest of the world who talks about and makes threads hating on Ameritards being ignorant themselves by taking interest in the foreign politics in one of the largest and most influential countries in the world? Or did you mean to imply that said people are ignorant in their discussion of America.

Both of these points I could have easily rebutted, had I been able to properly untangle the confusing syntax and sentence structure of your post

This

Why are the insurance companies not legally required to cover you if you have insurance.? That's retarded. They just take your money and then just insure the people they find the most financially beneficial.

>They just take your money and then just insure the people they find the most financially beneficial
Insurance companies in a nutshell.

Thank fuck I live in England, the N.H.S. is one of England's greatest achievements.

Anyone??? Eh ehh??

good insurance companies would cover all there people unless you had lied on paperwork or tried to scam them
thing is a lot of people would go for companies who had terrible ratings but were super cheap then get mad because they were dropped. when your insurance is only 10$ a month and the office is in the ghetto thats a sign its a bad insurance company but people would rather that than go with an a rated or even b rated company since it was cheaper and thought that meant it was better

>Why are the insurance companies not legally required to cover you if you have insurance.?
because insurance companies have "pre-existing condition" clauses in their coverage contracts and have successfully lobbied the government to not make laws requiring the coverage of pre-existing conditions
and because contracts fall under civil law and not criminal law
when they deny a claim the person who had the claim denied has to take it to court and prove that it is more likely that the procedure be covered than not
and the insurance company, having more money available to dump into legal fees, will draw out the proceedings hoping to bankrupt the insured person before any court decision can be made

All I got from this was.. in America, good healthcare is what you can afford, its not a right, like in every other first world country.

See, the problem is that our Healthcare system is so fucked that there's no decent way to fix it. Anything that insurance covers is so expensive that it can't be paid for without insurance. No one in the industry is willing to cut spending significantly enough to make it affordable, so we're forced to carry ridiculous insurance, which is a stopgap at best, since no one pays in enough to cover themselves, or ever could. So for a while, forcing everyone to cover everyone else works, but eventually it topples too. Same thing is going to happen when/if we go single payer. We're fucked, and no one wants to admit it.

my thoughts are ... fuck off britfag, nunya

This is exactly why it should be paid for by taxes, so then its free at the point of access.

"man cant afford healthcare. cant afford obamacare. gets a 700$ min fine couldnt afford insurance how the hell could he afford this fine. is now sent to prison because he was poor" gg obama.

>All I got from this was
something done different from what I know
different stupid
me hate

typical eurofag response
imperialists for the past 3000 years
and planning on keeping the tradition going for another 3000

I think its stupid because it serves the needs of companies, not the needs of patients.

basically yea. in the usa it was set up so if you didnt want healthcare you didnt have to have it thus saving you money. then a lot of poor people made stupid choices grabbing bad insurance which made them think the whole system was shit leading to obamacare which has made it way worse
insurance was affordable and reliable if you went with good companies but stupid people didnt research thus got cheapest they could then got screwed and blamed everyone but themselves
essentially its same problem we have now, no one will take responsibility for their actions thus blame others

I sure hope the ACA is repealed. All that simpleton Obama had to do was look at European public health care systems and pick one he liked. Instead he made an idiotic racist insurance monopoly that is causing prices to rocket. I'll be happiest on the day that boob dies.

the main reason for obamacare was the mass number of people not having insurance. thus not paying corporations money. obamacare making it required by law let corporations corner the market and raise prices. what are you gonna do? not have insurance? have fun in prison!

I hope they get rid of ACA and move towards universal healthcare.

>have fun in prison!
and because it is not a criminal act to not have insurance
they pay a penalty to the IRS
and if they don't do that the IRS, w/o warrant, can seize everything that person owns until the amount owed is payed
and if there isn't enough to pay, they can send the uninsured to prison indefinitely bc contempt of court until the full amount plus late payment penalties and interest is paid

>political discussion
>serious
>in Sup Forums
>in 2017

so basically what i just said but much longer. if a person is too poor for insurance punishing them with a fine will only lead to them going to prison as they cant pay it. which they will then lose their job and most likely have to start life over again with nothing. great way to turn a average civilian into a criminal.

It's the only thing most of the major world news companies ever talk about. It's no wonder that they know. Just look at CNN and BBC world news.

>but everyone says obamacare is a good thing and democrats are the good guys

I disagree. It's moreso capitalists versus socialists.

I'd like to go back to 67. Sounds good to me. Iraq was a mess and we should have stopped the Russians from ever going into Afghanistan.
