Do you think HBO is going to adapt Dune once Game of Thrones is over?
Do you think HBO is going to adapt Dune once Game of Thrones is over?
No, Lynch ruined Dune
please no
Dune should remain as it is, a book series.
D&D are rumored to adapt it for HBO once GoT ends
...
oh for fuck's sake
there's plenty of really shitty fantasy and sci-fi series for them to ruin forever, why does it have to be Dune
Oh please. The books will always exist.
And GoT as bad as it gets sometimes is still a much better adaptation than most things get. If Dune can hit some of the highs that GoT has hit then it would be well worth a watch.
no
Isnt a lot the problem for GoT is the current and upcoming seasons have surpassed the available books and D&D have to make-up as they go along now?
Wouldn't be a problem for Dune since the series is said-and-done.
And budget. They don't have the fucking wolves in because they can't afford to animate them.
This.
After wishing for a A Song of Ice and Fire TV series during the 00s and looking at what HBO did to it and how awful the fanbase got, I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to Dune.
Might as well, art is dead.
Also, that's a big worm.
in comparison to...?
God yes please.
>tfw you fags only read the first book
TALK TO ME WHEN YOU'RE AT HERETICS OF DUNE AND THE SHIT GETS 100% CRAZY
Dubs for truth
Probably not. A lot of Anons kept bringing this up as a scenario they'd like to see to get a new adaptation out of it, and then somehow that turned it an unfounded belief that it was actually being planned.
If it gets made again it'll probably get the movie treatment, some JJTrek-tier summer abomination with a swaggering Paul, a stronk womyn Chani and "We're gonna need a bigger worm".
I've only read the first two books, enjoyed Messiah for how dark it got and the cabal plot line was pretty good also loved Ghola Duncan. That was pretty interesting, the book seemed to focus more on him than actual Paul or his problems. However, it seemed to be lacking something which made the original Dune what it is.
Turning trash into trash isn't really a mark of distinction.
thing is Dune has name recognition. it's bound to happen that some cable network will scoop it up, if not a major production company as a feature. i read all the books in high school and wouldn't mind seeing a series out of them, however faithful to the source material.
God Emperor is the 2nd best book in the series
It works for the Prophet. The Fremen man
Jodorovskys Dune with Giger and Dali is something I would have wanted to watch.
I don't need another adaption with dicks and tits who aren't even supported by twigs.
i think you meant best m8
it's L I T E R A L L Y the culmination of all themes explored in the series taken to their logical extremes and then the solution
leto II is the most based character in fiction
...
God Emperor is the best book in the series
the documentary alone was amazing, the film would have been a generational shift, something that Star Wars was, but with an actual story and characters, not piecemeal and chaff.
>tfw you fags only read the first book
I heard the rest are trash from a very reliable source
no, too much going on
they need another thinly-veiled soap opera
I'm at 2.5 never could finish god emperor but I loved the others.
I've read all of the Frank Herbert books and some of the disgusting abortions his braindead son and Anders shat out.
Jesus fucking Christ. The whole part with Miles Teg in Heretics and Chapterhouse felt like some 5th rate japanese webnovel.
>a series about uncivilized sand'people' that get manipulated via carefully planted and prepared religious beliefs into starting a Jihad against the galaxy
Oy veyyyyy.
DUDE SPICE LMAO
yeah just what we need another HBO show with Mythical/Fantastical creatures we never get to see because of budget reasons
exactly budget is the keyword there. I use to wish for a Dragonrider's of Pern series but now I realize budget concerns would rape it into a horrible show
muh sandworm
muh spice
muh Bene Gesserit
