I got a Dell Optiplex 790 off of Craigslist for $175 including monitor, mouse and keyboard. Grabbed a Gigabyte GTX 760 the week after for $90 and a EVGA 600w PSW for $60. Recently tossed an 8GB RAM kit in it from Patriot for $47. It exceeded my expectations of how well it could do. Well worth the $382 I put into it.

Pretty much this

I'll be upgrading to two 1080TI's this summer. I do a lot of 3D rendering and video editing. Occasionally I game. I plan to pair one of my 980TI cards with the two 1080TI's when I get them.

4K@60FPS in 3D is fucking crazy. Just sayin.

plus a bunch of other stuff (tv card, raid card blah blah)

What about this one then?

forgot gpus - gibabyte 7870 Ghz OC x 2

That one is the only reasonable PC an average dude could have on this shit site.

just because you dont have a proper rig doesn't mean others do have one either, IMO all of the rigs posted in here are feasible to any man that has a job that pays 1000 $/€ or more a month, save some of them and you can buy a decent rig in a relatively short amount of time, also any rig that costs more than 1000 $/€ is actually good enough for a number of years (not including peripherals as many may already have them) with only an occasional gpu upgrade lets say every 12 months maybe a tad more

>others dont

...

but i have a proper rig but that doesn't take away the fact that people are most likely lying ITT to make others feel bad about what they have.

you can always ask for a speccy screenshot if you think something is not real, if posted problem solved, if not a moron is uncovered

Op should have stated that you post pics to make it reliable

good point

I don't know if you guys were referring to my system but I did post a pic. Here is another.

I really don't see why people would be lying, I see one guy so far with a pc build totaling over 4 grand. Thats an investment sure but its not a fucking yacht, its affordable still, it'll just take some time to gather everything.

Nice setup my man.

Why would you have that new processor and not get a new z270 mono? Also pics.

Thanks man, I am not rich. I just take my hobbies seriously and work a bunch of overtime. I am not here to make anyone feel bad. This was a place to brag right? Why else would we be posting our rigs?

use speccy you fucking nerds

Yeah, but Speccy fucks up the video card.
Like it say my 1070 has only 4 GB, when it's 8.
Just like on yours.

how do you play with such a small mousepad? And with only 60 fps....

it's just the gtx 10-series that shows incorrectly

I'm not a competitive gamer. Like I said in my first post. I use this rig for 3D art and video editing. When I game I usually play single player. I have been playing Dying Light at 4K 60FPS and find it enjoyable. I admit that mouse pad can be a bitch sometimes though. I have a surface pro that I sit over it when I am gaming.

what's your rig then ?

Tight budget build here:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 455 @3.3GHz
GPU: Gainward GTX 750Ti 2GB
RAM: 6GB
Storage: Kingston 250GB SSD and Seagate 250GB HDD
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

The rest of the cash went towards good sound equipment (I'm a big sound guy) so I got KRK KNS 6400 headphones, Alesis Elevate 3 studio monitors and a PreSonus Audiobox interface.

Basically the same one, except i exchange both my 980tis for a 1080, SLI support is shit nowdays b/ro

I agree but I do 3D rendering and it doesn't use SLI, it just uses every card you stick in the system. Like I said, I plan to pick up two 1080TI's when they come out. I couldn't justify paying for 2 1080's because the performance increase wouldn't be that great. Nvidia has had some problems getting IRAY to work properly with the 1080 series so they are not much better than a 980TI for 3D art at the moment. Here's to hoping they sort it out. Nice rig BTW.

Thanks it's my baby, what do you think about the new kabylake intel line of CPUs the benchmarks I had seen are disappointing

my cod4 (not rm bullshit) and porn machine

You know it. Too be honest I have been disappointed in CPU tech from both Intel and AMD ever since Intel released their 6Core Gulftown CPU 6 years ago.

I didn't buy an extream edition CPU for this rig because CPU performance has gone nowhere in the last few years. Maybe a 25% increase in 5 years if all cores are properly threaded in the software. I believe this is because AMD has not been competitive enough with Intel. Hopefully their new vega architecture will change this. Outside of CES I haven't seen much info on it yet. Hopefully it will give Intel a run for their money so they push out something inventive for a change.

GPU's on the other hand, seem to double in power every year. I like both AMD and Nvidia but I have been rocking Nvidia cards for the past 2 PC's that I built.

That's a really good PC /bro

thanks Sup Forumsro, im planning to keep this build for another 2 years or so since its good enough for what i do.

I know !!! Let's hope Ryzen can scare intel enough to move their asses, same goes for nvidia and amd, in team green but the lack of competition is allowing then to price the high end market segment of GPUs to their greedy heart content

nice man, why not use speccy though

A true powerhouse, I would love to see a picture of your liquid cooling setup and your overall PC build.

Another really nice rig. Very elegant build.

why thank you sir!
took me some hours to make it this way
