crafting

resource management, min/maxing, and "immersion" birthed this monster.

my prayers will be answered when a sword drops from the sky that has the power remove the crafting mechanic from a game.

>everyone knows the meta by now but one teammate insists on picking the one character that contributes nothing to the team just so he can play solo in a team oriented game
>one teammate insists on using an internet connection consisting of a somali kid holding a rusty antenna ontop of his roof
>everything has aim assist even the aim assist

When gameplay is in 1st person and doesn't let you change to superior 3rd person. Goddamn I really hate 1st person so much.

>When games do things out of the normal, just to be special snowflakes.

>When a game demands a very specific sequence of events must be done in a certain order, but gives vague information and multiple routes.

>When sequels become dumbed down versions of previous games.

>Political agendas

I love crafting in games, but all modern games dont do crafting right.

That's all i will say on the matter

im a game developer

silently watching this thread

Oh so you're one of those gamers. Do me a favor, kill yourself

We want more "starbound" less "no mans sky"
We want more "red dead redemption" less "fallout 4"
We want some parts of gta 5 and less of some parts of gta 5
STOP MAKING FETCH QUESTS.
STOP ESCORT MISSIONS.
STOP GIVING US BULLSHIT CHOICES THAT MAKE THE END GAME A DIFFERENT COLOR

l

When theres a cutscene before a boss battle and you die so many times that you memorize the words and start angrily mocking it every time you hear it

Anything flying or racing in a game that's not about flying or racing. And especially hate it if you need to win a race or something before you can continue with the rest of the game. I've abandoned many games forever just because of this.

Implying he's gonna make the next indie hit. He'll probably never finish the game

Shit nigga i know that feel.

And i also know the feel of doing something hundreds of times to try and win, knowing itll work, to only get fed up and quit.

A week later you do the same shit and win on the first try

well I'll be damned if you didn't bait me, but I'll still ask you to name the game the did crafting right.

mine's Baldur's Gate 2.

Sorry i hate when one teammate brings down everyone else for the sake of his own experience.

it's a team game and your teammate is mad at you even though he fucking sucks balls

Kek sod off, cunt. I play games to have fun. Sorry I don't play to maximize your good boy points.

In MMOs
> Grind Quests

In FPS Games
> Bad Teammates that yell at you even though he's worthless

In Single Player Story Driven Games
> Cutscenes you can't skip and long Load times

In Any Game
> When the developers don't understand that not everyone owns a top of the line Intel Chip and GTX 1080

Things that piss me off:
>Pay to win (By this, I mean the type of shit where 5 years of grinding is easily and repeatedly nullified by some rich kid throwing $100+ into the game)
>Escort missions
>When a game is completely linear, without fun side-stuff or a way to change the ending

What I like:
>Customization, the more the merrier
>Randomly generated items, levels, characters, etc.
>Bad endings, bonus points for being particularly macabre and even more bonus points if there's a fuckton of them (Dead Rising is probably the best example of this)
In fact, anything unrelenting in letting me know I fucked up, whether through bad endings or gruesome/creepy game over screens (like Waxworks), I dig that shit something fierce.
>Being able to do random cool shit outside of the game's core objective
>Fun with ragdoll physics in any way, bonus points if fighting or wrestling is involved

>playing domination on call of duty
>that one sniper who camps the whole game and doenst cap any fucking points
>snipers in general in shooters

>playing modern warfare 3
>enemy has an attack helicopter
>wrecking our shit with the fucking chopper
>guy on our team has a predator missile
>kills one dude with it instead of killing the chopper with it

RRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Git gud scrub

My fucking nigger. I'm tired of everyone constantly trying to beef everything up. I'll be honest, I've put 1400 dollars into my pc, but I would have been much happier with only 6-700 dollars and games where I can't see sweat bead on a dude's brow. I want a good story and fun gameplay.

> when I don't like the OST
> when the OST is not funky
> when the OST isn't groovy
> when the OST sucks

When people accuse you of hacking and then kick you from the game when youre doing really well. i fucking hate that shit so much

kys

>silently
>posts

I was thinking morrowind. Its simple, but gives you enough choices to how you wanna craft it

>When a game has different outfits or skins for the player that they can unlock throughout the game but DON'T FUCKING LET YOU START A NEW GAME WITH THEM UNLOCKED (I'm looking at you Rise of the Tomb Raider)

>RPG's that don't have a New Game + option.

>Just replayed all of the half-life series (again)
>Delve deeper into the story and lore than the other times
>Finish HL2 EP2
>Remember how I felt genuinely sad the first time
>I NEED A CLOSURE!!!

When i thought I was over the fact that HL3 would never come out, I finish the game again and remember why I was so sad the first time...

>Quick time events
>Locked into third-person
>Meaningless choices
>Escort missions
>Pay-to-win mechanics

>When you can tell what's gonna happen a mile away

Oh look the side character said they are gonna stay behind alone and try to scavenge while I go do my objective, I hope they aren't dead when I come baaaaaaaaack

>RIP Dragon Age

i get this on sniper elite 3 a lot.
on xbox one.
A machine that cannot run unsigned code.

fucking butthurt cuntbubbles

When a game is not minecraft

Games that make Mages have to run around like pussies even though they have spells that can annihilate everything.

Oblivion had the best spell crafting

Monster hunter 4U.
>salut.
>allons-y.
>ding-ding-ding-ding
>allons-y allons-y
>ding-ding-ding
>Jesus monté!
>Pardon...
>He carts 3 times in less than 10 minutes.
but why tho.

fuhgoat

I hate when games make mages all look like faggots. Why do they all have to wear fucking skirts?

when a game has glaring exploits like getting shot from outside the map, and the devs won't do shit to fix it because muh costs

>Bad things start happening just as an "innocent" character is introduced to the story

Sounds like you just suck at flying and racing.
I bet if those parts were left out you'd complain that there's no dynamic.

When devs dont listen to any criticism
When the community if full of shitheads

You call someone out for sucking in a MMO and tell them what they need to do and everyone turns on your like you're the bad guy.

i had a game where you had to solve one of those puzzles where you slide the pieces around to get to the final level

>Community voices an overwhelming amount of complaints for something
>Devs ignore it and solve a really small problem instead

oh fuck off

when you are new to a game and nobody will have you on their team in case you fuck up their stats. happened to me recently with r6 siege, how can i git gud if you fagets won't let me gain experience?

When the game isn't finished on release so the developers have to release a 40gb patch.

This. And especially hate it when you make a TINY constructive criticism to a female in the group, and suddenly you're literally hitler and shunned forever.

Fucking Jak & Daxter 3. Absolute bullshit.

no u

not a game but related, the xbox dashboard team do this.
they have a forum for the beta testers, and since the machine was released people have requested basic features that were on the 360 dashboard but are missing on xbone. what do we get? cortana and clubs.

Why was Gen so inferior to 4U?
It think that's the first time I've felt the real deep sting of sequel regression.

Micro-transations
>micro
>up to 99.99USD
ok

people have a choice of who they let on their team in R6?

>dialogue written by children for children
>story written by children for children
>edgy haircuts and clothes that no actual man would ever have
>Clinical looking menus
>asking me if I want to do a tutorial before starting the game ( this should really be implemented into the main story without being obvious)
>day one dlc

I really hated ff 15

>Port/remake
>Cuts content

>Bethesda

if anyone is sick of snipers, play titanfall 2. snipers are less than useless. any sniper can be insta raped with the devotion lmg or g2 rifle. the butt tears are salty

This. And make you pay for said patch(es). I'm so tired of all this DLC when it is clearly just part of the original game and they just break up the last half and charge you per piece. It's basically ruining games imo.

you will get votekicked

they really shit themselves of late...

Paradox Interactive is one of the worse for this. They'll update a game to coincide with a DLC release, and the update just adds a bunch of bastardized features that don't work without the new $20 DLC they just released.

>quicktime events
>retarded/douchy teammates, hardcoreleetmlg teammates who bitch at you
>unskippable cutscenes
>microtransactions, pay to win, and charging for shit that should have been included in the base game (COD, Battlefront)
>retarded sneaking and escort missions/levels, or missions that are just bullshit (mini rc helicopter in vice city)
>random bugs, lag, fps drops, disconnects, shitty servers, and crashes
>always online
>ea's bullshit greed
>activision's bullshit pump the same garbage out every year with nothing good or new
>ubisoft's bullshit same formula, same game but with a different skin

never seen this happen on ps4

They were never really that good in my opinion but have definitely gotten worse. The Creation Engine is a complete piece of shit and I'm pretty sure they don't have a single actual programmer in the building. The unfortunate thing is though that no matter how broken their games are they always are fun to some degree and make a boat load of money, so they don't have much of an incentive to improve.

lol@your cock of doody image. those games are shit and the people who play them are shit. so true. I wish Sup Forums was like a normal site that had upvotes or gold so i could give you one

well, i have a few projects going, not a lot of time, very low inspiration, and fucked up life, finding out my whole family is on coke and shit.

so you're right. probability wise, as of right now, not going to finish anything.

but if i got another head or two on my ideas, maybe even just enough input to work on what I have, I might make a free to play steam game one day. and thats shooting low even from my perspective.

here is my channel

>Shit monster intros
>Styles and HA made the game too easy
>Shit online
>Forced cat shit
>worst textures and graphics
>Deviants, while interesting, are a fucking grindfest of massive proportions.
>only 1 endgame armor and weapon
>No story like in 4U
>No subspecies other than raths.
>4 flagships are all fucking weak.

To be fair to DICE they were on a major time crunch for Battlefront. I'm hoping the next one will be better.

>Gamers that cry about micro transactions and season passes for big games, saying they're "killing the industry" but buy those sort of things for their favorite games anyway, proving they sell.

Personally I don't get /too/ booty bothered by bethesda's bugs. Mostly of the time they're fucking funny.
I've only had a handful of times when they broke my game and I had to reset really quick.

>calling people shit
>redditfagging this hard
Kekd

another thing bethesda are guilty of.
>buy game at release, pay full price because its a series i love
>1 year later, heres your game, with all the dlc for less that half of what you payed for it.
>fuck you for supporting us, we could give you the dlc for being loyal, but no, you're shit and we hate you.

Oh yeah, that's why.
Shit, I really like the story in MH4U.

Being the leader of a faction, yet get stuck still doing all the fucking grunt work.

> when they market towards children instead of their thirsty grown fans
>remakes in general
>lack of content on launch
>hype train crashing killing it with over expectations
>horrible franchise ownerships that makes fun things stop happening
>game with huge graphic upgrades ending up being subpar experiences
>games being so easy it may as well be a movie
>stale repetative actions to be fillers in total play time

Are you talking about one game in particular or do you have of list of sit that's burned you?

making a sports game with no local multiplayer. seriously, wtf.
not the best example, but behing the tits and ass, doax volleyball on xbox was a solid fun volleyball game. x2 and 3 only have vs play online

I still think their games are fun and you're right that a lot of the bugs are hilarious but my main issue is that a lot of the bugs are things that are so simple and obvious to fix that if they had competent programmers should have been fixed before release. Also the Creation Engine is probable one of the worst modern game engines and even though they now own the id Tech they refuse to use it for their games.

>im a game developer
>I actually haven't even started on developing a single game I just have some ideas in my head

Fuck off

Stunlocking & foreign people on servers nowhere near them.

Very true. I really enjoyed Oblivion and before, bit that is a personal opinion. Now they can just slap on Bethesda and get game of the year. That can also be said about damn near any other major gaming company. Just look at Blizzard(Activision).

My theory is that everyone who used to actually take the time to male a solid, well thought out and good game no longer works for whoever it may be or is just retired. Now we have money-grubbing faggots who don't give a fuck about quality and just care about the paycheck.

I can't think of an actual game that I can honestly call good made in the last 5-7 years.

list of shit, things like pokemon, battlefront, smash, fo4, destiny.. games like those

>when you rely on modders to fix your broken shit of a game

sup bethesda

What about Dragon Age is political?

Youve start a game youve never played or have 0 knowledge of, and 3 months in your better then the majority of player base, mfw ppl play for years and still can't get out of bronze holy shit what is autism

>Team game, and your teammates don't know how to shoot.
>Free-For-All game with fucking campers focusing only in your head.

cant fucking wait for obsidian/interplay to make me the fallout I wanted

some people just suck at video games, me included

At least Sun/Moon was just a smidge harder than XY

The big problem is that every major game developer is now owned by one of the big few publishers who have the dev's by the balls and don't really care about making good games, just lots of cash. Also the entire mood of the gaming industry seems to have changed from talented individuals who have a genuine passion for the industry to overeducated "kids" who know they can make a lot of money from becoming a programmer or an animator.

someone didnt make it to endgame

Inquisition was infected with SJW propaganda. You could literally get called a transphobe by the obligatory uninteresting trans charachter. There's an entire quest for one of your companions that's just amounts to "my father doesn't like that I'm gay wah".

I've heard bad shit about dragon age having a political agenda, I tried Inquisition but didn't get very far in it. Just felt like Mass Effect but done a lot worse. What's the story with the political agenda thing and DA?

My contribution
>Riding off the coattails of a prequel whilst having much worse controls and being designed like shit in its entirety. I'm looking at you Dark Souls 2.

>FUCKING MICROTRANSACTIONS

>Mobile games in general because they almost all use microtransactions to milk extra cash out of you. Some worse than others.

>Russians in DOTA

>Foreigners of any kind in DOTA

>Day 1 patches

>The fact that the concept of patches has kind of made it okay to ship out a broken game on release day as long as you fix it later.

Aye. Is it even worth it?

Aye I agree, it's frustrating as shit and I've basically have stopped gaming cause of it. I know it doesn't mean jack shit to them, but I miss being able to come home from work and game till my eyes bleed.

Plus this DLC trend is heart wrenching.

The writing team for Inquisition was filled with a bunch of strong independent wymyn who affirmative actioned their way into the position. I suspect that the next one is going to be even worse since the lead writer left.
