Which death hit you hardest?

Just re-watched this last night, for me it had to be Jackson the sniper, enjoyed his character a lot.

Honorary mention to Miller though,

What about you?

First few times watching it was Mellish. The slow stabbing, his begging, that shit stuck with me. On a recent watch, I'd say the medic. When he's calling for his mom, feels bad man

Yeah man, Wade's death was quite hard hitting, especially after his story about his momma in the church,

Gotta be one of the best war movies ever made

Tom Hanks' career kek kek

The death of war cinema.

The Thin Red Line is a better WW2 film.

Please don't shit up my thread, actually want a decent discussion about a very good film

Nah fuck that jew swine

>1 hour staring at bushes
>Better WW2 film

Thank you Mr Malick go to bed now.

For the longest time I thought the "Steamboat Willie" guy that they don't kill was the same one that stabbed the jewish guy, but then I realized he only shows up at the end to get shot by Upham

when the jew died

Nice one, but Saving Private Ryan ushered in some of the absolute worst film-making conventions and techniques that STILL plague the genre and industry as a whole.

Also, you don't have to out yourself as underage by pretending The Thin Red Line is boring.

The underage name-calling game gets pretty old at this point, I´ve seen Thin Red Line at least 3 times and still find it boring.

In fact I wouldn´t put Thin Red Line in war movies, it´s too much lyric shit, too long, too much recreation on bushes and souls leaving their bodies.

>Saving Private Ryan ushered in some of the absolute worst film-making conventions and techniques that STILL plague the genre and industry as a whole.

Such as?

Not that guy but the whole way the Normandy landing is shot was copied again and again (Scott's Robin Hood, Battle of Bastards etc).

The way Normandy landing was shot in Saving Private Ryan is bad?

If it weren't for the internet I wouldn't have realised the German that kills Me ISN'T the guy they set free blind folded

It's not bad per se but it surely was done too often by now.

Steamboat Willie

Imagine you're Willie. You and your squad are mind their own fucking business defeding a radio array when Captain AIDS and his merry band of fuckwits come along for no reason oter the the Germans are there.

The battle is over and Captain Gump and his Fuckwits have killed all your friends, but because a Medic who shoud have been left behind with the typist, got his ass killed, you are subjected to physical assualt and eventual execution.

Eventually Captain Woody decides to spare your life and you are left alone to stumble your way back to your lines. You get picked up by a bunch of Waffen-SS men who are planning an attack on some bridge. What are you going to say to Ideological based soldiers: "No way I promised the Americans I wouldn't do anything." They'd laugh their asses off and find some rope because that's fucking treason.

So there you are, counter attacking against the Americans and suddenly you see fucking Captain Castaway and his fuckwits, who tortured you, humiliated you, threatened to kill you for no good fucking reason. So you put Captain Phillips in your iron sight and shoot him down like the asshole deserves.

After the battle you get held up by the typist coward and recall his name. He proceeds to shoot you like its justified and lets the rest of the squad go.

Fuck Saving Private Ryan and fuck Spielberg for purposefully giving all the Germans skinheads criminal look when that wasn't proper grooming regulation in a film that touts its accuracy.

That's fine but we're talking about SPR, any after effects are not intentional of the film so it's hardly a criticism

Yeah it's got to be the guy who is slow stabbed to death.

Malick is a great filmmaker, but The Thin Red Line is incredibly boring.

If this ain't pasta it's some next level shit right here

Not pasta, friend. Could have some better spelling, but just started getting more and more pissed as I wrote it. kek.

I would have said the guy who gets stabbed because that's the most unpleasant death, but actually the death that hit the hardest was that German who shot Miller

Mostly because I feel the most kinship with upham, and I could almost feel his unbridled hatred right then at that moment

My thread has given birth to new pasta
Feel quite proud

As I said, I am not that guy and I remember when SPR came out and blew every war scene (as in action sequence) out of the water. I guess if you watch the movie after you watched all the movies that copied that scene it might feel stale.

Fair enough, not SPRs fault though

Damn right

Hell, Germanbro mercifully spared that dude only to be executed by him in cold blood later on because he couldn't handle the fact he was too scared to save his friend. What a fucking coward.

Yeah I am also waiting for to respond.

You basically encompassed everything I hated about that movie in one post, well done user.

Thin Read Line was a ware film? Thought it was a romantic comedy???

Kind of in the bane of There's Something About Mary. Just a fun bunch of kooky buys tripping over each other to get some time with the attractive young Vietnamese villager.

I don't know what you're getting pissed about. At every battle in SPR, Spielberg showed the Germans acting with bravery and strict adherence to the rules of war, and at every battle shown, some Americans didn't, or didn't want to and had to be restrained. It wasn't sympathy for Nazis, but for the universal soldier.

I wrote a paper in university about how Uphams character arc fits the development of acute combat stress reaction aka shell shock. I used all kinds of psychology and history articles. it was actually fun to write.

Female reboot when?

That was a different German altogether. Because Spielberg went out of his way to make all the Germans look the same (buzzed hair) it's easy to mix up Steamboat Willie and Kike Knife.

This. I always hated the typist character, especially after his 'redemption' was to kill the guy that spared him

It's not how the Germans were portrayed that pissed me off, it was that Spielberg felt it necessary to dehumanize them physically. He went out of his way to demand the German extras, who were re-enactors, shave their heads. It just felt silly to find a way to link up the National Socialists of old with the Neo-Nazis of today.

Sony will do it and bribe 'bloggers' and 'journalist' to do attack pieces on 80 y/o veterans if they say anything mildly detracting about it.

It particularly odd then since he didn't portray them with shaved heads in Schindler's List as I recall.

It's also odd because it was considered un-aryan to have shaved head since craniology is a pseudo-science which was revealed by shaved heads.

he shoe-horned alot of kike imagery in there too, like in the post war sequences of the cemetery, they have kike stars front and center of all the graves. kikes were cowards to busy hiding gold and jewels up their asses fleeing conflict, while brave anglo christians fought the actual war.

Mmost Jews who died during the holocaust (Ostjuden) were piss poor and had neither the gold nor the opportunity to flee.

The "mommy" death felt cheesy for me.

The stabbing death was getting to me at first, but then I found out it wasn't who I thought it was that stabbed the guy. Felt kind of meh after that.

What do you mean? I thought this was his break out movie. After that, we got Green Mile and Cast Away. Both were nice.

Even with little wealth, they own a pocket watch or such, they shove up their childs anus rather than forfeit as they scurry like rats.

They also copied it in the opening of The Revenant. They made indian raid look like the Normandy invasion.

>little wealth
>pocket watch
You literally have no idea what you are talking about.

Caparzo is the only answer i have for the main ensemble. Stupid way to die, but sad. Even the sniper that got him didn't seem to thrilled by it..

It's a different German, they look pretty similar tho, and redemption is definitely not what happens in that scene

There are literally >muh holocaust stories by kikes speaking about hiding valuables in their anus while they flee. You are the one that is ignorant.

The opening and closing scenes in the cemetery do not actually feature Matt Damons character. The old man is actually Edward Burns character, Private Reiben.

The movie opens with the Normandy invasion and ends in Ramelle. Reiben was the only member of the outfit that lived through the invasion and the subsequent mission. He was the one telling the story about what kind of man Captain Miller was.

Think about it.

So? As I said the most Jews who died were too poor too flee and of course their stories are not around, cause, you know, they are dead. You have stories about people hiding stuff in the better parts from every race/religion and every epoch though.
But it doesn't matter cause you never read a book on this subject (all your "knowledge" is based on pol-macros) and you don't even understand what Ostjuden are.
As for your every sophisticated anthropology stating Jews are cowards one could argue the existence of Jewish battalions in the British army of the fact that proportionally more Jews volunteered in WWI than Christians but this would mean a confrontation between historical facts and your pathological antisemitism and therefore be futile.

Wedding rings, anything. Kikes are rat cowards, it was they who run the so called execution camps. Mass killing their fellow jew to selfishly save themselves. Any other race or religion would zerg rush the guards and escape if there really millions of them. Not kikes, they hoard jewelry in their anus and execute their fellow kind. Pure cowardly scum.

Same here

I like how you didn't address a single point of my post. Seems like you are mad, using all those bad words.

It's funny because they were told that they were being resettled and told to bring their most valuable items with them. They packed suitcases full of their belongings.

100,000 German Jews enlisted to fight in World War I.

>trying to defend Europe from Judaic supremacy
>bunch of Americucks come to stop you
>squad of them include literal kikes tries to stop you doing your solemn duty

damn right it was sad

>treating 0.2% of the world's population as a boogeyman

>100,000 German Jews enlisted to fight in World War I.
This. +thanks for Fritz Haber the German didn't have to stop fighting after 6 months.

>0.2% of the population
>10% of the Bolsheviks in the Russian revolutions were Jews, most Bolshevik leaders were Jews, leaders of narrowly avoided 1918 German revolution were Jews
>h-heh...it's just a coincidence

The Nazis did bad stuff but the vast majority of them were only trying to protect Europe from communism

% of the Bolsheviks in the Russian revolutions were Jews, most Bolshevik leaders were Jews, leaders of narrowly avoided 1918 German revolution were Jews
Literally pol-knowledge. Come on post them macros and I prove you wrong.

>leaders of narrowly avoided 1918 German revolution were Jews
>Scheidemann
>Liebknecht
>Ebert
>Jews

Oh top lel you are retarded.

>The Nazis did bad stuff but the vast majority of them were only trying to protect Europe from communism
If you go with that thesis at least base your argumentation and something or someone that isn't retarded like Ernst Nolte or something.

Sup Forums isn't known for being the brightest lads

Better to just laugh at how pathetic they are and move on

>I hate Sup Forums
I always found pic related to be quite fitting.

>only trying to protect Europe from communism
They wouldn't have had anything to worry about if they didn't have such an idiot for a leader and invade Russia

Hiltler's. Sleep well sweet prince ;_;

Oh I'll shit up your thread

I'll shit it up nice just for that
