>No metallic hardcore metal-leaning grindcore, or crossover thrash.
wow fuck your elitism of what punk is and isn't, punk shouldn't conform to a specific offshoot really.
doesn't work for me though
If you really wanted to be punk you'd post it anyways.
i wan be and amarcan idoit hahaha

Any more projects this dude was involved in that I should know about?
Listened to Blood Visions and Watch Me Fall and a bit of the Angry Angles stuff.

YOU FAGGOTS LIKE FUN?!
Nu male punk has to leave the fun house
>ska punk
the literal pinnacle of music
Been listening to The Chameleons and The Sound non-stop, where should I go from here?
Eh, they're not really Ska anymore
Nofx and chocking victim are best band ever tbqhfamalam
Fuck meant to quote
Assuming you haven't listened to early post-punk, check out The Clash's London Calling, Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures and Closer, and Talking Head's Remain in Light.
I started with the early bands.
I'm having a hard time finding post-punk bands from the early 80's I haven't heard.
The Sound, Chameleons, The Pop Group, PiL, Magazine, A Certain Ratio, and Echo & The Bunnymen are what I've been listening to recently.
I was thinking about digging into No Wave, and 99 Records.
the autism is real with these political movements
Forgot about Lowlife.
>minutemen
mor liek ded laed singer
The raincoats
Pere ubu
The slits
Love The Slits!
I had forgot about The Raincoats, I'll give them another try.
Not a fan of Pere Ubu, but I only listened to their first two albums.

You may also like some coldwave stuff.

The Chameleons are pretty darn hard to top though.
Anyone got some sort of chart for getting into punk?
Or just give me your personal list of 5 Punk Albums to Initiate a Noob
My only rule is
>no clash, ramones, stooges, or sex pistols already heard that a million times
metal box vs. in the flat field.
who wins.
If you really won't listen to the stooges because you heard about them "a million time" you are a retard who is missing out one of the best punk bands
Anyway try the adicts, stiff little fingers, the dictators, the germs, death (the niggers band), radio birdman, fear, the damned the dead boys, rocket from the tombs
...
I never listened to either of those but le pil man is a nazi so I pick flat field
a nazi? how do you know?
He lieks Drumpf
oh yeah, i saw that vid where he says hes the most anarchist president, i just figure hes senile by now
LoL yeah dude! nazi punks frick off right? xD
Besides The Cardiacs and This Heat, are they any other "progressive punk" bands?
define "progressive"
Maybe Chrome
Basically, progressive in the same way progressive rock is: experimental & often lengthy songs with many different sections, while still having that punk energy and rawness to it.
thanks bro!
I've always meant to check these guys out but never got around to it. Will do now, thanks a lot
Everyone seems to like Half Machine Lip Moves the best. Personally I prefer their later albums.
All of his Lost Sounds stuff his Terror Visions LP his Reatards LPs his Bad Times shit is good too
The Fall have got 40 years worth of material to listen to
Check out The Wolfgang Press
Shut That Door
youtu.be
I've heard their first 4 albums, I'll get the rest and give em a try.
Awesome! thank you.
Also I really enjoy "punk-funk" bands like Liquid Liquid, A Certain Ratio, Bush Tetras, Au Pairs.
Any more?
Try this out. Definitely meets the criteria and just a local level band but everyone needs more of this.

I fucking love the Aquabats.
Also if you like punk rock, listen to this album.
Has anyone else listened to brutalism by Idles? Came out this year and it's really good and has quickly became one of my favorites
Bad Cop/Bad Cop is pretty good.
Hold on I'll listen and then rate it.
Kek
They stayed at my house once.
23 skidoo
Nigga that's Miranda Cosgrove
Pretty good. First half is definitely better than the second half. Mother, Well Done, and Date Night are all catchy as fuck, band can write good hooks. It just falls off after "1049 Gotho", though. Last track is also just NOT good, his voice does not fit a song like that. At least it's full of good basslines almost all the way through.
First Half: 7.5/10
Second Half: 4/10
Meaning I give it probably a 6.5/10
