Fun useless fact:
Stevie never changed his socks. They would get really crusty and extremely rank, to the point that his crew would buy new ones and take his old ones while he was passed out.
He had a 7g/day cocaine habit, and he would do bumps (more like piles) off of a beer can on stage while making look as if he was simply taking a sip.
He died in the chopper that Clapton was supposed to be in. Eric found out that SRV was on a tight schedule to get to his next stop and offered up his seat.
As a guitarist who's been playing 30 years, I have a really deep appreciation for what he did on his instrument.
