I DO IT FOR FREE

I'm just a simple farmer tending to my memes.

Nah I just move it around and drive in circles

Anything ever really require your expertise or just like system monitoring?

" and since I had a gajillion dollars...
I cut that grass for free"

Damn dude.

Ezpz bro. Sounds like a dream

I do Datacenter build and maintain, plus projects for different companies.

Ag, oil, realty, law, construction etc..

So one of our sites has about 900/1000 servers ... Linux / windows ..

So it requires scoping out the Datacenter environment, knowing VMware for building the ESXi hosts, and vCenter, as well as the automation that gets out into vRa(previously vCops)...

So Powershell scripting is a must.
And then domain & security... so monitoring is there as well (Orion etc) a lot of GPO builds because of changing things (we do some M&A) ...

Ummm yeah a lot more but that's it off the top of my head.

Hauling the logs?

Building redundancy into things is fun, Visios are fun to build.

I like the build and forget type stuff.

Or fixing other people's bad data centers (or lack there of)

Yeah it's not bad only drawbacks are 72hr weeks in the winter and working away from home time to time which I currently am

India? Lol

Skidding

Do you stay in the truck? Heating at least..

Plus OT is nice if you have no fam

lol I literally wrote US...

I jest, most devs and sqa we know and have are from India...

I run heavy equipment, company puts us up in a hotel. Fiancé back home sucks leaving sometimes but ya go where the money is

I know, we have a team of 30 at one site that are all (((in the US))) but on H1Bs

Found a place that is hiring if anyone is interested in making cuck threads and race bait threads for 20 dollars an hour.

Understood, so you're out there for some time. Are you staying in logging long? Or just long enough to save up and change jobs?

do they make 48/hr tho? I was under the impression that pajeets don't make as much just because they don't poo in the loo

I'm a CET at a datacenter myself.

Had to sign about 4 NDA's so that's about all I'm supposed to say about that.

It's massive and located in the PNW. Starts with the letter M.

Overnight security is the fucking easiest thing in the world. Pay isn't fantastic, on it's own at least, but I have other sources of income some of which can be done while I'm on the clock at my job. Essentially getting paid twice for doing easy shit. Mostly freelance transcription shit. All I gotta do is bring my laptop to work with me. I can even use their WiFi and they'll never know. I'm basically the only person working there who actually knows technology so there's really no chance of them finding out. My boss treats technology like scary black magic.

They make about 90-110k a year
They mostly do Java etc... they work over at our place that has lots of warehousing and non shelf stable food..

JDE on IBM etc plus lots of in house programs.

Same NDAs at each place we take care of... I love it dude.

Did you see HPE bought simplivity for 650Mil today LOL. They were asking 4 I think 3-4B

Your shop is VMware as well I assume

That's awesome. I have friends that do the exact same. Pretty chill, if anything real happens they just call cops...

Glorified breathing security camera basically

Also do you enjoy your Cisco hardware?

I see, I'm taking a break from uni for now so I'm just doing this to make some money before I go back to school. I have an software engineering internship lined up for this summer too, should be able to get a full time software engineer offer from it. everyone treats SQA engineers like shit

I'm not really sure. Always told myself I didn't wanna do this for my whole life but I also don't know what else I wanna do. I work exclusively night shift so no supervisors or anyone bothering you I'm in the middle of the woods alone and peaceful. I literally listen to music, get stoned, and drive around all night so I can't complain. Also the occasional fap I guess

That sucks (getting treated like shit)
Just find a nice big corp that has in house engineers.

Do you have documentation of past projects and things you've worked?

I always get nice folders, resume & business card on the left, certs, projects & visions on the right... looks great and a lot harder for someone to throw away or lose than a piece of paper.

Damn user.

But that is what interests me. I'm just having fun for now no rush to do anything really

of course, I have a resume, github and all that.

It sucks but I'm trying to find a better job right now. Trying insurance companies and what not. Getting my associates in business but where the fuck do I apply when I'm done w college?

I hope to find something I can be passionate about and still get paid, but I'm definitely not complaining about my current situation. I've just known people who have done only this and it takes a tole on ones health. Granted the pill popping doesn't help them, but I try to stay away from that

every self-respecting programmer has a github lol

no I haven't, is it like freelance? I was trying to get into this gigster but no luck. My friend is one of the featured programmers on their homepage haha

I would suggest going back for a higher position, office work of some sort, but I'm pretty sure Walmart tries to keep their zoo animals in their pens

Going to school to work in Nuclear Med tho.

Back to Walmart when I get my associates? I dunno man the company is pretty shit to work for. I'm applying at USAA here pretty soon since I have customer service experience (pretty much the only reason I've stayed at Walmart this long).

Fuck off Polack with your false flag nonsense.

Yeah. Kinda feels like a blow to my pride that my job could literally be done by a trained monkey sometimes. But then I remember it's also one of the few jobs in the world where I can bust teenagers having sex in their cars in our parking lot, catch a glimpse of some sweet hebephilic tiddies, and not go to jail, because then their families would know they're having sex. And then I don't feel so bad anymore.

Want to work in Straya?

Lol

Yeah like I said Walmart is the wrong company to do that with. I've known a few people who had service jobs like that, gone to school for business or marketing or whatever and returned for a different position higher in the company. Obviously something you'd have to discuss with your management first

Only job that doesn't require a college education to make over 6 figures I have found. All you have to do is pass a test and get licensed. (If you are just a mortgage analyst you have potential to make much more than 100k. Its 100% commission.)

Sounds silly, but archaeology. One day I was like, what's my dream job. And I looked into, totally do able. My uncle is a biology proffesor and my (other) uncle worked for caltrans as an environmental impact guy, also other places.

There is ligit a real demand for low level goons to sift for bones all over the place. If god emptor trump does in fact build new highways, they will need alot more people.

Oh yeah man, kennals charge 100bucks plus, for real shit care. Dogs get sick all the time, most of my clients are people who try the kenal and look for an alternative.

There are all sorts of old hippie types that drive around all day walking dogs in the hills for rich white ladies, they offer dog sitting, but it's mostly the walks, it's the overnight thing that really sells it, cus alot of dogs live with people 24/7. Alot of it is also word of mouth. Craigslist always looks for low lvl run 8 dogs at a time thing, you really have to start with a small client base, and people will change there schedules to do more stuff if they know you can take care of their dog.

Apartantly I have the magic touch with dogs, aka give them walks and treats and don't agitate them when they are barking and they behave normal. I even secretly train them to be better dogs just for me if I'm bored.

Yes, I'd now deep throat that cock in a heartbeat

I used to have a passing interest in cock.
Now I have a much greater interest in cock.

Not him, but I'm sort of surprised there hasn't always been a market for dog sitters. I mean we've been hiring kid sitters and nannies and stuff for decades because some people just don't have enough free time to be, you know, good parents themselves. But only recently has the idea of "dog sitting" taken off as something more than just saying "here's a spare key to my house, please feed the dog every day while I'm gone."

Well I know all the crazy porn plots from hentai has really opened an unusual door, I need really weird context to enjoy porn. Just straight up fucking doesn't do it at all.

I need that forbidden friut/invisible sex ghost/time stop/office with no pants/ erotic gameshow Japanese wackyness.

I already saw your post m8 fuck off.

That does make sense. Why do people get dogs if they don't have the lifestyle to accommodate them?

Well that's $.06 more than most homeless people make, so there's that at least. But I am curious how you have an internet-capable device as well as actual Internet access, on that kind of budget. That's some serious frugality you got there.

I feel you man.

Storyboard artist here.

80k on average, but sometimes way more or way less

How would someone get involved with something like that? Besides bieng the best sound or lighting guy in the area, for general grip work or whatever, how do you get a foot in the door?

Some people see it as a fairness sort of thing. For instance both my parents were workaholic types (although not the types who actually make lots of money doing so), so I mostly grew up with a nanny. Kinda fucked with me when I was younger because they were almost never around. When I basically asked them why they bothered having me when they didn't have the means to raise me themselves, they actually tried to get all defensive and say how dare I imply that they shouldn't have been allowed to have a kid just because they work a lot. They gave the same guilt trip to pretty much anyone else who asked too.

Now that I'm older I'm a bit more mellow about it, I can sort of see where they're coming from, in a way. Not enough to where I would ever do that if/when I have kids of my own, but I can at least understand that they earnestly did want a family together and tried to make it work as well as they could. Still though, that shit can seriously fuck with a kid's head. I guess when it comes to dogs they might be different, maybe a dog doesn't l really understand that their owner is supposed to be their primary caregiver, and in turn not really feel neglected as long as they had dog sitters and other dogs to interact with when their owner isn't around. But I'm not an animal psychologist so idk about all that.

Storyboards artist looks like a great gig from perspective. We pay $50 a frame and I know you'll have a busy night or weekend but for the most part your taking a phone call and emailing a few revisions.

It depends, I work mostly in commercials. Mostly non union. I cold called a production manager, got hired as a production assistant. That gets you on sets, in offices and around all aspects of the industry. From there is up to you to decided what you want to do and to make the head of that department get to know and you and eventually want to hire you. What city are you in?

comp artist. 40k currently perhaps 80k in 5 years, work on movies / tv shows. kinda neat.
