Twin Peaks

Just watched S2 Ep 9 where leland dies and bob's spirit is free and have heard everything is downhill from there except the finale, should i keep watching or just skip to the finale?

Would suggest the finale since the rest is just soap opera type stuff and not really the weird Lynch vibe you get throughout.

You should kill yourself for even asking the question you useless millenial filth

Just watch the fucking show. Better yet skip the whole thing and read a summary on Reddit or Wikipedia. Then you won't have to sit through all the boring dialogue, music, cinematography, etc.

...

Watch it all. Let your eyes glaze over all you want during James' story, but there's a lot of really fun character stuff even when the story starts to meander.

The last three episodes are worth it.
also nadine is hilarious idk what anyone says senpai

Thats a pork pie, not a fedora

Watch it all. For fuck's sake.
Some of it may be hard to get through, but it's worth it AND I don't advise skipping anything. If you skipped straight to the finale, you wouldn't have a single clue what the fuck is going on, and not in a good way.

just watch it whole stupid
do you think your time is that important

You are literally asking for someone to spoil the ending for you.

not everything mid-late season 2 is bad. There will of course be plotlines you hate, but episodes with those plotlines will be a mixed bag at worst due to the fragmented nature of the narrative.

Your tolerance for silliness will decide how much of the new plotlines you'll enjoy, but there's still plenty of worthy moments. It just lacks cohesion until the last couple of eps.

Plus you'll get resolution for a few hanging threads. And the finale will be lacking some of the emotional resonance without the build up to it.

The last four or five episodes are decent to good

i've been watching the series for the first time a couple weeks ago and i just finished it

holy shit i loved it so much, all of it, even the second season

i want more now and i've been thinking what to do. i know there is a third season and tie in book coming and i also still have to see the movie but other than that, what else is there? i'm looking for shows, vidya or anything else which has twin peaks vibes

Just skip EVERYTHING with either James or Donna.

hint: don't expect FWWM to be anything like the show, or you're likely to be disappointed.

Yeah.
Another user but I watched that recently and it felt too off kilter for me to care.

>and tie in book coming
Frost has just released a sneak peek. I'm fucking hype.

there are tie in books, The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer and The Autobiography of F.B.I. Special Agent Dale Cooper: My Life, My Tapes (plus the Access Guide to the town, but that's more fluff)

Fire Walk With Me is a must watch, also watch the Missing Pieces, a collection of deleted scenes from Fire Walk With Me which contains a lot of scenes with the extended cast that were cut to focus the narrative more on Laura Palmer

As far as games go, Deadly Premonition is basically Twin Peaks the game.

People usually lump Alan Wake in there too. I tried to play it and maybe I was expecting too much from it but I found it to be mostly boring and without charm, but maybe you'll get more out of it than me

The extended epilogue to the finale was my favorite bit of the Missing Pieces

Poor Coop, he was about to cry.

man i really enjoyed alan wake
didn't care much for the story or gameplay but the atmosphere is perfect

btw has anyone here tried this beer?

the next two episodes are still great, 10 might even be one of my favorites, then you have to sit through some of the worst episodes until it picks up speed again and the finale is probably the greatest thing american television has seen to this day, so keep on watching

t.fedorafag

Did anyone else find Windom Earle boring as shit?

my main issues with Alan Wake were that the writing was trash and the game play was repetitive. I'll agree that it had good atmosphere, but the weight of its mediocrity was too much to save it. I dug the mini-twilight zone-esque videos within it though.

Windom was too cartoonish to be threatening, but I still found him to be entertaining, just the wrong fit for the show.

I really like the Project Blue Book footage of him though.

I'm hyped for the new stuff. Lynch is directing the whole thing and he's only getting weirder.

Go play Deadly Premonition

Norma is best girl

I found her and Ed dull

You are a pleb.

Lose weight and have sex.

Theres a lot of shit subplots after Leland's death
>James/Evelyn Marsh
>Super Nadine
>Ben Horne civil war craziness
The worst is still the James subplot.
>

it's a shame we didn't get a cool Hawk subplot

>Ben Horne civil war craziness
>shit
It was fucking great.

Based Hawk is getting more screen time in the new season.

Fuck Alan Wake.. I played it for 20 minutes. it's one of those follow-from point-A-to-B-and-reach-the-next-save spot games. Pointless as fuck. What you should do is watch Lars von Trier's The Kingdom (aka Riget). Don't watch the 90's network tv disaster that is the American remake. That's the closest television has ever gotten Twin Peaks atmosphere and artistic integrity. You could also watch True Detective season 1 if you haven't already. It had a lot in common with TP.

here you go OP

>Norma

pleb af

Watch it, and try not to let what you've heard color your perception. I'm sure everyone has good chunks of that period of the show they enjoy.

best waifu

>Donna in that black/red dress from the Miss Twin Peaks contest

my fucking dick

honestly, both of them are great I just like Norma better, too bad Boyle looks like shit now

just skip all scenes with James and Donna

They all used to be so perfect. It's mindboggling how great they look. Everytime I watch TP it almost makes me believe in women again but then I watch a modern show or movie and it's once again filled with whores and slags.

Shelly aged like Wine

Donna aged like Milk

NO! YOU GOTTA WATCH IT ALL AND SUFFER THROUGH IT

At the very least it's worth watching for the clusterfuck nature of it. Plus it's still comfy as fuck, just retarded.

The "ending" makes it all worthwhile.

The sad part is If it weren't for the disastrous things she did to her face she'd look perfectly alright.

The ending feels even more rewarding when it's contrasted with the amounts of brain dead shit that precedes it.

is The Missing Pieces offical or edited by a fan?

1. Everything with James and Donna
[power gap]
2. Andy, Tremaine, Lucy love triangle
3. Eckhardt's game with Packard
4. Audrey and Wheeler romance
5. Nadine and Mike romance
[power gap]
6. Ben Horne's Civil War fantasy

Delete it all you want but we still see your shame.

>autism

>hating on based Dick

pretty accurate

plebians

I don't play much vidya, but this game's story is awesome.

You need to watch to understand important plot points but you NEED to skip anything involving James or Nadine as they are irrelevant

Optional bits are any scenes involving Dick Tremayne or Billy Zane, I personally do not recommend them

Anything involving Leo is a must watch, no matter how you initially feel about it, the payoff is probably the best of Season 2

And of course anything concerning Cooper, Hawk, and Truman are necessary, although some poorly acted scenes of a drunken Sheriff Truman are skippable

Ben Horne reenacting the Civil War is skippable (not important, but still some of my favorite scenes in Season 2), but once he is back to normal his scenes are vital to Season 2.

Most of the stuff between Josie and the rest of the Asians is skippable, EXCEPT FOR scenes including "The Big Fat Asian Man With Eyebrows", his scenes are short, yet relevant.

Any scenes involving Windom Earle are very important, as Windom Earle seems to know more about The Black Lodge than anyone else, while being completely insane the whole time

Follow these rules and you will have a good Season 2 experience

Fire Walk with me is probably the greatest thing in the world but unfortunately there's like 50 percent chance that you will absolutely hate it, even the most lighthearted scenes in this shit are more depressing and sinister than anything ever in the show, besides that listen to the soundtracks on a daily basis, watch Lynch's other films and get yourself hyped for the new series but i can promise you, knowing Lynch, it will not be anything like the old show, it would just be too boring for him to make something he already did

it's not just official, it even was put together by the man himself, David Lynch
