Hard Candy 10/10

John Carpenters Apocalypse trilogy is pretty tight

Bumping for interest

the best horror movie i've seen.

Conjuring 1 + 2
Don't Breathe
Insidious 1 + 2 + 3
Sinister
Annabelle
The Boy

OP here its not freaky enough for me, but not bad, i liked it :D

All of these minus Don't Breathe are the same movie.

Dead Alive
Evil Dead 2
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Return of the Living Dead
The Reanimator
Poltergeist
House of a 1000 corpses
Devil's Rejects
It Follows
28 Days Later
Dawn of the Dead

And I mean the originals, don't bother watching remakes of the ones that have been remade. Enjoy user.

The ending -_-

suspiria

In addition to this list

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
The Hills Have Eyes (original)
The Thing (original)

What type of horror are you looking for?

Depraved as fuck tier
>Martyrs
Home invasion tier
>Funny Games (1997)
Well crafted suspense tier (no jumpscares)
>Ils (Them)
Classic slasher tier
>Friday 13
>Nightmare on Elm Street
>Halloween
>Chuckie
Alternative/kinda comedy
>Cabin in the woods
>Evil Dead

Batman and Robin (1997)

Seriously. OP asked for good horror movies and this guy basically listed the shittiest. We can definitely come to the conclusion based on his list that he has the horror tastes of a 12 year old.

30 days of night
Its a solid 8 and its not some stupid film about a doll or a haunted house, curse or whatever, u wont regret >:)

Also "Wrong Turn V" is nice

Scarred me for life.

>The Hills Have Eyes
>Cabin in the Woods

these have never even heard of a good movie what so ever

cannibal holocaust

I like this list.

Adding some of my own opinion:

J Horror
>Noroi (The Curse)

Zombies
>[rec] (for adrenaline)
>28 Days Later (for apocalypse)
>Train to Busan (all rounder)

Experimental
>Begotten
>Jam (Chris Morris TV show)
>Eraserhead (more disturbing than scary)

Tunnel. It's an indie Australian film. Top. Notch.

...

>vampires in 2017

>it follows
Definitely my favorite so far 9/10

Also case 39

The Wicker Man
The 70s one, not the Nic Cage remake
More of a creepy thriller than horror but it's an amazing movie

i live hungary, you dont have to introduce our gypsy neighbours :(

As Above So Below is pretty good

it's like Indiana Jones meets the Blair Witch

>>The Hills Have Eyes

Wes Craven, and I'm talking 1977 version not your millennial bullshit remakes.

>Cabin in the Woods

Best not disappointing twist on a classic style teenagers at a cabin in the woods movie. The story and bloodshed make it just as worth watching just as much as Dead Alive or Reanimator. Just to see it go from one style movie to another was a nice fresh twist in the industry of horror story telling. But, you don't have to agree user.

I loved Begotten. dat disembowlment.

Fuck. It was while watching this movie that I first realized that adults can be idiots.

Scared the crap out of me.

seconding this

its more of a pagan folk opera than a horror movie though lmao

I really enjoyed event horizon. I know it def has its haters, but not a terrible movie. Any user agree?

i like it. real science fiction horror is rare

My Favorite Horror Films (incl. creepy, dark thrillers)

Evil Dead 2
The Army Of Darkness
The Cabin In The Woods
A Nightmare On Elm Street
House On Haunted Hill
The Crazies
Freddy Vs Jason

Also consider...
Mulholland Drive
Pi
8mm
Splice
Species

I liked "Into the Mouth of Madness" better, but it wasn't a total loss. I'd put it into a top 100 list. It had it's creep factor going for it.

It reminded me of the doom franchise.

Drag me to hell was a good one

I respectfully disagree. I enjoyed it, but never really gave me the creeps.

Anyone know any good found footage horror movies?

The Lazarus Effect was really good. Could have been better, but one of my favs.

>rewatchable classics tier

Jacob's Ladder
The Thing
Invasion of the Bodysnatchers
Dawn/Day of the Dead

>good zombies

28 Days Later
Return of the Living Dead
The Dead (2010)
Pontypool
La Horde
[REC]

>good found footage

Paranormal Activity series

>honorable mentions

Ring

i left a bunch out like the cheesy jumpscare shit like insidious, conjuring, and hokey stuff that plain didnt make the cut like Skeleton Key

>The Exorcist
>The Babadook
>The Conjuring
>The Witch
>The Conjuring 2
>It Follows

The Wailing if you can handle it being south korean with english subs. Beats most of the shitty films being recommended in this thread by a mile.

'The Descent' (2005)

youtube.com/watch?v=WhZj0Q9rq9E

>Noroi (The Curse)
>[rec] (for adrenaline)
mah nigga

'The House of the Devil' (2009)

youtube.com/watch?v=6SOur3WwZvM

Vampyres 1974

The shining always creeps me the fuck out. Just the way its done, i guess. Kubrick's a fucking genius.

Forgot rating
Would rate 8/10

Alien, Doom, Predator, yeah super rare.

alien is the only frightening film of the three

You should watch splice mate, dont know if you could class it as a horror but still a fantastic movie

rate it 7/10

I was Insidius 1 and sinister and they scared the living shit out of me (I was like 12 and 14 when i saw them so donno if they hold up)-

Not a horror movie.

Seconding this

[REC]
V/H/S/

"The best thriller since Alien"

Alright nigger, challenge accepted.

What the fuck, this looks like The Boy minus The Boy.

House on Haunted Hill, 13 Ghost

Aliens
"Game over, man"

Watched this 2 weeks ago.
Pretty decent movie.
You can probably figure out the plot twist 20 mins in though, but the psychological ride is pretty fun.
Also Ksenia Solo is great.

>horror
>aliens

thats an action movie bro. Alien is better. Also, The Thing is good, the one from the 80s

I sort of liked Cabin in the Woods. Always knew a pothead would fuck shit up for the entire planet one day.

Plus it gave us that kind of funny gif of all the soldiers getting massacred by monsters coming out of elevators.

That movie is an overrated steaming pile of shit. It is boring, not scary, and pretty poorly made. I don't know why everyone praises this so much.

...

All of them are the same and very bad

MartysMartyrs (french version)

Conjuring are you gay?

srsly?

fuck that feminist propaganda. only a faggot or an ugly cunt would think this a good film.

Best futa scene in a non-hentai/porn.

Oh yeah, the castration scene was pretty gross, tho.

Watched The Witch last night; slow burn, but it was ok. Can't go wrong with Event Horizon. Cube, maybe?

Click. I think people that waste their time on Sup Forums would understand how horrifying it would be to experience the loss of control and time that occurs in that movie.

I thought ginger snaps was unique but ultimately kind of a bad movie.

The Thing you're thinking of actually is a remake. They made the same movie 3 fucking times.

Here my list horror fan since young age:

Visitor Q

There are a lot more but those are worth a view imo.

Some good suggestions here. I would say:

[REC] -- Spanish language, stressful, fast paced, fairly short

Martyrs -- creepy, weird, disturbing in some ways

Inside -- French language, very creepy to me, but got annoyed at the end when characters make reallly stupid decisions. Worth seeing though.

Not really horror but silence of the lambs

The first Conjuring was pretty good. Better than Insidious and sinister and all the rest.

Martyrs is in a league of its own. It was the first movie I saw in a long long time where I had to like think "it's just a movie, some one made this, those are actors, they are all fine". Not a great movie as such though, it just gets into your head.

Horror movie, not comedy

Don't Look Now -- good call. Scared the crap out of me on HBO when I was younger.

Mean Creek

Check out autopsy of Jane doe. Pretty god damn good

you are gay
