I recognize this chart, probably rated it before, so I'll just say that while I've never listened to Mogwai, that album (Young Team) has one of the nicest album covers I've seen. Bought Endroducing a while back to get free delivery on Amazon and never listened to it. I take it that you are a fan of math rock. Nice to see someone put Shellac on their chart, its good stuff.

Seen this one too, like the gradient on this chart, if I were half as knowledgeable when it comes to pop I would rate though I'll certainly give you props for some quality Joni Mitchell, never understood the appeal of Meddle though. Try Arcade Fire's Reflektor, that's kinda good if you want dance music with a Bowie-kinda twist.

Nice aesthetic, Built to Spill is pretty cool.

Good stuff on there, not that I know half of the bands though Codeine is awesome.

just deleted the usa from my phone to make some space and im already regretting it

At the Drive-in - Relationship of Command
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu - Pika Pika Fantajin
Put aside any notions you have of her, and try to ignore all the stupid waifu and weeb shit this board obsesses about, it's a really solid pop record.
Venom - Black Metal
Really needs a Fugazi album to round it out. Their influence there is readily apparent.
Are you familiar with Mewithoutyou's other work? The album you have their just may be their worst.

These are my most listened to records of the last 8 days. recs please, don't care if you think i've heard it already.

I haven't listened to any of their other work outside of January 1979. To be honest I've always been afraid of trying their other stuff for the fear that I might not like it as much and may not appreciate the band to the same extent, kinda stupid of me I suppose. I'm still waiting for the right time to play Brother, Sister.

Brother Sister and Catch for us the foxes will not disappoint you. In all honesty, you will probably never listen to Ten Stories after hearing them, they're superior in every single way, except for some of the fugazi-esque riffs on ten stories. A->B life is a hardcore record, definitely worth hearing, but it's very different. All Crazy is a children's folk record basically. If you think of it that way, it's not that bad. If you compare it to their other stuff, it falls very short. And Pale Horses is really the successor to catch for us the foxes, I thought it was great, definitely their best since brother sister. I've been into this band for years, I can't recommend them enough, along with delving into the religious/philosophical roots of their lyrics, if you're into that kind of thing. All of it is absolutely worth hearing to get the full picture of one of the best post-hardcore acts since 2000.

And you know what, while you're at it, listen to Pinback. Another great and very overlooked band. Start with Blue Screen Life.

Will do, thanks a ton for the rec and explanation. I'll play Catch for us the foxes tonight and see what Pinback is.

The Grinning Plowman - Days Of Deformity
Coastal - Coastal
This chart is so unspecific
Kolya - Kolya ????????
Cool stuff
Air Formation - Daylight Storms
Smog - Red Apple Falls

The top 4 records clearly share an emotional theme, as well as place emphasis on acoustic arrangements, albeit all in different ways.

The fishmans record does stick out, but the other records on the bottom are all various aspects of less conventional post-hardcore records.

Like I said, these were the albums I listened to the most this past week, really that is the main thing that groups them all.

Tacoma Radar - No One Waved Goodbye
Atlas Sound - Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel

German Error Message - Haunts
The New Year - The End Is Near
Dakota Suite - Songs for a Barbed Wire Fence

Sarah Records comp - How to Floor you with a Popkiss
Pinback - Blue Screen Life

All great

I need some help guys. What do you suggest listening to?
I have listened to MBV 5 times already and still prefer bands like Sonic Youth and Whirr so I refuse to give Loveless another listen for the year. What Radiohead album is a good one to start off with? I didn't care for The Bends too much.

do you like Radiohead ?

Gas - Pop
Tim Hecker - Radio Amor
World Eater - Blanck Mass

Seam - The Problem With Me
Fionna Apple - When the Pawn.

Start with OK Computer or In Rainbows, and please don't give MBV a fucking year. Just keep listening to it on high volume with good headphones. Once it clicks, it'll click good

I'm embarassingly mucore

For me, loveless didn't click until after I was a big fan of the shoegaze genre. And even then it took a while but when it clicks it's so satisfying. I would rec listen to slowdive - souvlakai.
And for Radiohead start with OkC then got to Kid A then back to the bends then continue after Kid A chronologically.

>honestly why even bother coming here in the year 2017
to find new music of course.

You like Sonic Youth, but like Whirr better than Loveless? Dude LISTEN to Loveless, Whirr has nothing on MBV.

everything since the weekend

>You must be sad and only continue living for the times in which it is foggy and raining but also sunny at the same time

Haha, I really have nothing in life to complain about. Everything is pretty A-OK, but i'm thrilled to here I'm coming off as lugubrious.

>Mount Eerie - A Crow Looked at Me

shit, forgot pic

dlue bream? that's the best you could do?

Beck - Sea changes

Whats the album to the left of I Shall Die Here?

See My chart there is some pretty sad music, at least the top row for sure. I also recommend Leonard Cohen's early records, and the entirety of Red House Painters discography. At least as a starting point.

I made that account when I was like fucking 14, judge me all you want.
