post good albums that get no Sup Forums recognition

this album's a ton of fun to play along to

great album, but the political lyrics are a huge turnoff in songs like spark plug.

I really dig stereolab's sound, but goddamn when they get political in their music it makes me wince and turn it off.

What's the least political Stereolab album?

Sup Forums has a closet love for Stereolab but yeah, this doesn't get as much open recognition as Transient Random Noise-Bursts or Dots And Loops.

Assuming they chilled out as they got older, probably Chemical Chords. I've hardly put any effort in analyzing their lyrics though nor do I particularly care, I just like the music.

Literally his best album.

Cranes in general, even Forever hardly gets mentions here. Considering the barrier that is Alison's vocals though, maybe that's not so surprising. Still, aside from Population 4 I think their albums are pretty good.

i can never really understand the lyrics but when i do theyre usually cringy and shitty

I love that album but it does get recognition. There was a thread literally just last night saying I love this album

Pleb

Stereolab had political lyrics? Then again I never even cared to listen to them lol, the music is too good on its own anyway. It's probably some leftie hippie dumbass lyrics but eh who cares.

I love this album

I only really found out about it through osmosis, but the two big players in the band were straight socialist who were criticized for hiding marxist messages in their music.

I really like their sound, and can usually seprate it out, but when it's in english and I can understand it, it just makes me cringe. It only really bothers me on songs like Spark Plug and Les Ypers Sound, but I still enjoy listening to them.

>getting triggered by different political opinions to your own

tfw I actually began liking them more when I started reading their lyrics

>Band members have resisted attempts to link the group and its music to Marxism. In a 1999 interview, Gane stated that "none of us are Marxists ... I've never even read Marx." Although Gane admitted that his partner's lyrics touch on political topics, he argued that they do not cross the line into "sloganeering".[34] Sadier herself has mentioned that she has read very little Marx.[59]

Funny thing is, I actually consider myself a very leftist individual, and believe in a lot of messages found in socialist dogmas.

That said, I hate hearing ham-fisted political statements in my music, regardless of which side they're on.

underrated

Really any BMSR album deserves more attention here. Dandelion Gum is posted here sometimes, but as a band BMSR deserves more attention.

You must hate a lot of music

Just getting anyone here to acknowledge BMSR is ridiculously difficult. Kudos on suggesting an equally perfect album.

>Like 95% of popular music isn't about politics
Yeah I hate so much of it :^)

same, ive always found that politics and music dont go well together since all the artist can present is some shallow statement at best
