Hardly ever took the bus with the exception of field trips. Mostly biked/walked/driven.

American school buses aren't built to look nice and modern. They're built for safety. That's why accidents involving school buses where children got hurt are so shocking here.

Must be nice to live in a flat place where you can bike anywhere.
The only way I can get around my bike here is if I follow the river or the level lines around the mountains where everything is built.
We either go by car or by regular bus. Some more remote schools in rural areas have vans that pick the kids up from home as well.
