Was ok. I'd watch it again. Hoping for next movies to be less cringy.

SJWars was really lackluster.

I liked it. It did everything it was supposed to. Did it have its flaws? Absolutely. But I think some people are desperately reaching just to criticize at times. 6/10

Was shit

(((disney))) needs to fuck off

I hated that fucking movie, Watched it 3 times just to see if I was missing something but it was shit.

So many plot holes and the story went fucking no where.
"oh look another super weapon, guess we'll have to blow it up single handedly, again"
what was with that magic laser that split up and could somehow be seen from every planet in the galaxy?
and the forced "humor"

ugh
I REALLY disliked it.

>hurr durrr every movie must have a white male lead role
>hurr durrr the small percentage of them that dont enrage me
>hurr durrr Im not the SJW... everyone else is.

kike please go

I liked it a lot

Shut up cuck

Safe on purpose and I understand why. Disney bought the franchise for 4 billion dollars and they want a return. If you take a risk and it happens to be a misstep (like DC) then you'll start losing money.

Fuck that. Every minority was a Mary Sue and all the white men were evil or dinosaurs. Pc garbage.

I liked it the first time I saw it, except the "villain" who was an ugly pathetic retard, and a 1998-era CGI'd yoda chick, some problems with just having vaguely heard of the force and then being able to control and use it because hey why not, and then, there's this bit of JewJew Abrams SJW trash unecessarily fistfucked into the story: youtube.com/watch?v=44H2_cu02P4

>literally every white male is a bad guy unless it's Han or a meaningless character
>leads are a black guy and a woman
>the woman is the biggest Mary Sue ever created
>knows the inner workings of a ship another guy had for decades better than he does despite never leaving her planet
>masters the force in seconds
>defeats an opponent in a duel when he was trained by Luke and is incredibly force sensitive when she was trained by fuck all

The movie wasn't even subtle about it. Try not to be stupid.

it was alright, I don't remember that scene, but I was fucking my wife in the theater so...

and they killed Han off anyway.

White men: old, useless, on their way out.

Got it Jews.

>he didn't notice that there were other races working for the first order
>caring about the race of the lead characters
>doesn't realizethat anakin in phantom menace was just as much of a Mary sue
>doesn't realize that Rey will be linked to the Skywalker lineage which means automatic force powers
>Doesn't realize that Kylo Ren was shot by chewie prior to the duel and actually conflicted more than ever after killing his father, thus distracting him from the fight

It's like you didn't even watch the movie

try harder faggot.

I thought the only reason Rey lived against Kylo was because he got shot in the stomach with a fucking bowcaster

I still hope he kills the black guy

hurry up and sauce me cunts

Stella Cox is the actress

Are you some kinda stupid, eh?

The sauce is littered in the picture.

Fucking OT stormtroopers in First Order makes no fucking sense????????

REEEEEEEEEE

>using Empire stormtroopers instead of First Order ones

so what's the sauce

>didn't notice that we did notice, and they were all made heroes, while whitefags were made villains, fags, and extinct, which is exactly what we've been fucking saying you dope
>fully fucking realized anakins backstory damn near ruined the entire character of the greatest villain in film history, and that is why the prequels are not recognized as Star Wars films, but as shitty tribute flicks by a senile old man suffering from poor judgement and lacking a studio with the balls they had in the 70s to tell him to stfu
>realized it and it's a bullshit point, luke still had to train his fucking ass off to make a rock wiggle
>did realize it, doesn't fucking account for being a goddamn dark side wizard and getting half beaten by a plucky negro with no powers and teenage girl whose exposure to the force can be measured in hours on one hand.

I appreciate your effort to try to make it work for you, but it's a lot of effort.

>plucky negro

lol

I agree with some of what you said, but Anakin was born purely of the force, even he needed training to pull off force feats though. He had been flying "all my life!" Which was the only thing he did in that movie.
Luke had to do mad training an still got whooped. A woman being brutalized is too much for modern day America to handle but killing off one of the most iconic characters of all time is no big

worse than the original trilogy, better than the prequels

this version looks more interesting

it was okay

emo Vader was emo and not Vader

>did realize it, doesn't fucking account for being a goddamn dark side wizard and getting half beaten by a plucky negro with no powers
Other than that he was a trained soldier for his entire life.
> teenage girl whose exposure to the force can be measured in hours on one hand.
Describes Luke in the first movie as he blew up the Death Star. Also she had spent her life beating off traders and thieves in a desert with a stick so it makes sense she could fight. And again, Ren is hardly a "dark side wizard" akin to Darth Vader, and more like a edgy, annoying teenager filled with angst akin to you.

now I'm visualizing Anakin's dad fucking his mommy with force lightning, instead of a dick

2/10 wrong stormtrooper uniforms

>didn't notice that the minorities working for the first order actively partook in the destruction of five planets which makes them bad guys in the movie's logic

>Luke had to train his ass off to wiggle a rock
>But not to destroy the death star

>doesn't realize the negro got lucky
>doesn't realize that she used the force in the same bullshit way Luke did
(Except for the mind trick scene, that was bs)

It's almost like you're only seeing what you want to see

Well sure, but let's not forget that he didn't" just fly", destroyed the ship controlling all the droids. He pulled stuff out of his ass too, especially when not familiar with the Naboo fighter

It was pretty much the exact same movie as A New Hope so they didn't really innovate or come up with anything new and it ended on a cliffhanger.

The movie was entertaining enough though. It serves as a good introduction to the new series they're creating. Hoping for some more original plot in VIII though.

I hardly stayed force awoke. Not enough social justice in the movie.

I'm hoping fo something original too man, hopefully they try to end the cycle between light and dark with this trilogy. Or something like that

needs more midichlorians.and gugans

>doesn't realizethat anakin in phantom menace was just as much of a Mary sue
Mate, Anakin was shit. Like, in the entire prequel trilogy.

pretty much this

I think they were going for the fact that she's supposed to be a prodigy with the Force (it's literally called The Force Awakens), but the movie doesn't portray it terribly well, making it seem like she's powerful without a cause.

No. The OT is the best. PT had bad directing and acting, but it had the best concepts of the entire series, and the basic arc of the trilogy was interesting and fit into the OT.

TFA had no original concepts, cardboard characters, and the lead was the definition of a Mary Sue. The not-Death Star and having Rey nuke Ren was what really killed the movie for me. It had no good set pieces and there wasn't a "that scene" that every Star Wars up to this point has had. I really hope Rian Johnson can clean up JJ's mess and make the series fun again and make me like the new characters and not just watch it for the nostalgic characters.

I don;t hate George Lucas even if the PT was a misstep, but I fucking hate JJ Abrams and Disney for pumping out this souless shit, and I hate the dumb fans who crucified Lucas for the PT but are giving this dogshit not only a pass, but lauding it. TFA is a litmus test for if you understand narrative and character progression.

i like when my force awakens

>tfw Finn is a bro but he's ugly as shit
>look up the actor
>doesn't look great, but nowhere near as ugly as he is in the movie

god damn it

Bullshit dumbarse.

They knew they were getting guaranteed income, so they spent absolutely nothing to produce a pile of garbage that would rake it in.

Don't make shit excuses for those cunts.

I wish more people realized this.. it wasnt about the color or gender, it was about how unrealistically better they were than every other star wars character

i thought it was good, but i hated the black guy. since there was a black guy i was expecting lando calrizen to be in it. those are the only two black guys in the star wars series.

you forgot Jar Jar!

>>doesn't realizethat anakin in phantom menace was just as much of a Mary sue

He got his arm cut off, fell to the dark side, and was assraped by obi wan. He was saved multiple times through the trilogy.

>>doesn't realize that Rey will be linked to the Skywalker lineage which means automatic force powers

Both Anakin and Luke needed training to utilize the force effectively. Also, if this is the case then Kylo Ren should be that much more powerful since he is a Skywalker and he has training.

>>Doesn't realize that Kylo Ren was shot by chewie prior to the duel and actually conflicted more than ever after killing his father, thus distracting him from the fight

Even if this complete supposition is true, why would you write a scene that has no stakes? This is terrible writing. You don't nerf the antagonist right as the protagonist confronts them, that takes away the tension and threat.

It was a shitty movie, people just need to accept this.

No. I liked Adam driver the best outta all the new guys, he's a pretty good actor.

But the movie itself sucked the big one. Hard. They lost it once solo showed up on that stupid tentacle box ship.

>it makes sense for a standard stormtrooper to hold his own against a sith

lol

I agree with this pretty much, though you really shouldn't blame Disney for buying Star Wars pump out souless shit. Blame George for selling it.

They didn't know that, studio execs blew 4 billion on a dead franchise, how would they know if it would work? All they knew was that the prequel trilogy had bad reception pretty much all around, and the smart choice was to distance themselves from it by creating a movie reminiscent of the OT.

Next movie is Rogue One, a small dip into a new EU for the franchise and a test to see what they could do with what they bought. But of course they still had to be safe by placing it during the time of the OT, because it's only their first step after all.

Also a $200 million budget is nothing? Jeez you must be loaded.

source?

He only used the force to make the shot, its not like he held his hand out and crumpled it up like a piece of paper

POST YOUR RATINGS

5>4>3>rogue one>2>7>6>1

pizza without sauce is gross guys. Give me dat sauce

>They didn't know that, studio execs blew 4 billion on a dead franchise, how would they know if it would work?
because it's one of the biggest movie properties of all time, one that's never really left the public eye?

like, they wouldn't blow four billion on anything less

Have you guys seen Rogue One?
I thought it was one of the worst movies ever.

Anyone saying that this movie is even ok needs to read this

Rogue one should have come out 1st, far better than TFA

>6 near the very bottom

shoo shoo faggot

>he thinks phantom menace is the whole trilogy
>he thinks comparing one movie to a whole trilogy is a fair comparison

>both anakin and Luke needed training to use the force effectively
Thats why they both blew up their respective death stars with minimal to no training? And yeah Kylo Ren should and will be more powerful in the coming movies, that much is obvious.

>Why would you nerf the antagonist?
Because if you don't then he would steamroll them. Which would also be a tensionless scene.

Meh.Don't remember that scene, though.

>it makes sense for a standard stormtrooper to hold his own against a sith
> against a sith
>a sith
Kek, ok buddy. Even if he was a Sith, he had just been shot. Not to mention that he hardly "held his own." He just barely survived for about half a minute.

But he still used the force to make an extremely difficult shot. Did you forget the other pilot that failed even though he used his targeting computer?

Fuck outta here 1 will always be the best. Jar Jar is a god

3>5>6>4>1>2>7>r1

sauce pornflip.com/v/nDk6Q6lmPqc

5>R1>7>6>3>2>1

The original version from 1977 was a 100 times better.

aND WE HAVE NO IDEAE IF fINN IS A STANDARD STORM TROOPER OR NOT. hE'S ALREADY SHOWN TO BE UNUSUAL IN THAT HE DEFECTED. tHERE EASILLY COULD HAVE BEEN MOEW.

Godamn caps lock, fuck it, it stays

5 > 4 > 7 > 6 = 3 > 1 > 2

You guys have some shit taste.

I can see where your're coming from. Haven't seen R1?
Fack off

Ok

Do like Stella Cox.

Literally the best skullfucker in the business

5>>6>>>3>these are fair points, but
>You don't nerf the antagonist right as the protagonist confronts them, that takes away the tension and threat.
if Rey and Kylo weren't presented so poorly, this would have been fine, Kylo's biggest show of strength was all the way at the start of the movie (it was extremely impressive, and then there was dick all like that again, he looks like a raging tard) and Rey was presented as being ridiculously good despite being new as fuck

so it seems like instead of nerfing the antagonist so she could have a chance at not dying against him (like it should have been if the movie was better written), it seemed like they were kicking a dog that was already down, and that she could have probably actually ended it all right there had they not needed to extend shit for two more episodes

>haven't seen R1?
I have, I just don't like comparing it with the main series since it's supposed to be something different. If I had to compare them though, I'd put R1 alongside 6 and 3. I liked it but it's got flaws.

Biggest Mary Sue?! She wasn't Batman, user.

the time from her realizing she can use the force to actually trouncing a much more experienced force user is just retarded, just trivializes the training (worse than Empire)

But the mind trick scene was saved by the storm trooper being Daniel Craig.

Don't forget storm trooper with 0 lightsaber training and 0 force capabilities can somehow pick up and effectively wield a lightsaber.

> Aren't you a little small for a storm trooper?

>their respective death stars

lmfao you just lost all credibility

LINK???

sauce me

How's that?

that angst akin to you line was slick tho

been posted already

>Mary Sue

Here is a reference I am not familiar with. What is?

>star wars is a dead franchise
What the fuck is Battlefront then? Or any of the countless games, books, board games that have been continuously pumped out since the last movie.

Character that is able to overcome any challenge with ease, generally a result of poor writing

Luke blew up both of them...

When I said that meant to most adults.
For younger people it was still very much alive, but almost everything after the prequel trilogy was for kids in some way.

The name comes from where?

It was good but not really memorable. Rogue One was much better, a straight up war pic.

Also has no flaws. Any flaw they do have is somehow turned into an advantage.

Batman
>trains for literally decades to fight crime
>gets the crap beaten out of him frequently
>filled with guilt and self-loathing
>everyone he loves dies terribly
>shown to have issues with pride, love, emotions, and social behavior
Sure, Batman's totally a Mary Sue.
Faggot.

4>5>R1>3>7>6>everything else

>anakin blows up ship that controls all the droids
>Luke blows up the death star
>Lando blows up the second death star

You're just fucking with me right?

Anikin blew up a big orbiting structure that would otherwise have won the war for the bad guys. Plot-wise, it was a Death Star...
