Old people fuck up the job market by not retiring when eligible...
...
Just say thank you Obama.
this is somewhat true. one would also argue that because of the current high costs of living, its becoming harder and harder to retire at a younger age. i see this all the time in locals around new york city. sad but true.
Is there Moar of this? This is my fetish.
my job has a group of old fucks 60-70 yr olds that are still trying to slug away at the job. bullshit because when they can't do shit due to their frail bodies they make the younger worker do it.
Lmao
>Old people fuck up the job market by
having skills and experience that are marketable
not needing constant supervision
knowing when to STFU and when to take initiative
not knowing when they are jamming up the job market and fucking retire out so others can promote
Depends on corporate culture.
Had some family work as engineers at Ford. Basically if you brown nose a little you become middle management in a few years and it ends up being boss and employees are friends and nobody fires anyone or does any work. Young people hurt in this instant.
Other engineering companies I've worked for go the other way, "lowest cost, technically feasible". Basically means the cheapest way to not fuck it up. So they force out the older people that have higher salaries and know what they are doing and hire young or foreign people that are cheap and will fuck up, but hopefully not too much. Old people hurt in this case.
Either way the customer is hurt the most by either inferior product or expensive product.
it's young people who fuck up the job market by being lazy, incompetent & spoiled.
>youth is only good for sex
Not sure what industries you are referring to, but young engineers like that are quickly fired unless their uncle is the one that hired them.
Old ones like that tend to stick around because the bosses would feel bad firing someone they know so well.
Grandpa mireck. He's fucked dozens of girls and some are legit hot.
Old people show up and don't constantly complain. That's why they're still around.
Bruh, not how it works.
So true. Everytime I try to train some youngster they fold when things get rough. Also whine about that they are not making what they think they are worth after a whole week on the job.
I operate cranes, and concretepumps, and the young think it is sit in the chair, and pull the levers, or use the remote controls. But when actual labor needs to be done, they cry about it. When we get back to the yard they want to jet after having such a hard day, when they still need to clean the equipment. You want to make the money, but not put in the effort.
It pays fairly good at $30K starting, and up to $80K when you are at the top end. So much for your college degree. I am a mechanic too, so I get the top rate, because I can actually fix things when they screw up in the field most of the time. The youngsters do not want to get dirty.
OLD YOUNG FARTS TARTS
They couldn't retire because they had to support their adult children who won't leave home.
i'm a blue collar worker and i have tried several different jobs through my life, and it's always the same thing in every workplace:
>young people have no loyalty
>they're always "sick" and take time off
>they show up drunk/high at work
>they keep instigating petty dramas
>they have authority problems
>they can't handle constructive criticism
>they demand special treatment
>they're loud and obnoxious
OP speaks some truth.
>Work with ~65 year old man
>He knows his shit-been electrician for 50 years
>Has zero plans of retiring. Maybe in a few years might drop down to 4 days a week. Likes 3 day weekends
He is the type who always has to stay busy. He is well of financially but thrives on working. The trades are lacking in skilled help, but the younger generation is always forced to stand in the shadow due to the experience of "the old bastard". At least they have a lot to teach us in this industry. In others they can't keep up with the workflow and demand and should really consider retiring.
in the US it's not the immigrants or old folks who are clogging up the market, the market was shrunk (jobs exported) to lower production cost for multinationals
with less jobs and money flowing through the economy old folks need to retire later to have a "safe" amount of money to not starve.
in the end it is the multinationals sucking up all the money from around the world and only spending enough to bring in more profit
Most of that is pretty awful and I would immediately fire employees like that, regardless of what the job was.
The constructive criticism and special treatment is the fault of thier parents generation giving everyone participation trophies and letting everyone be a winner. Works good at keeping small children from crying, but not good at setting them up for the real world that doesn't give a shit.
Also I have an issue with loyalty to a company. All of the companies I have worked for were faceless corporations that would routinely hire and fire with abandon. Good and bad employees would be cut with little explanation yet they continued to hire more and more VPs and HR personnel.
At least for engineering, there is no reason to be loyal to a company. The days of working 30 years at the same place are pretty much gone.
>had an old ass receptionist that retired out
>young hot girl gets hired, AH YEAH!
>doesn't do shit, surfs web all day, can't get work done
fuk
can we just have more old guys fucking hot girls?
she looks digusted
That dude's like 80 and he's fucking a girl in her 20. Fucking a right old man!!!!!! Get it get it cash me outside
But you have a hottie to look at, that is worth the sacrifice.
Eh 80k won't cut it unless you enjoy living lower middle class.
>giving everyone participation trophies and letting everyone be a winner
that sums it up neatly why kids today are insufferable prats. but on the subject of loyalty, anyone willing to provide me with an opportunity to earn honest money deserves a fair amount of loyalty. that means no backstabbing or dick moves to benefit myself at the cost of others. i ride with my brand
Early retirement drains social security and puts more weight on the federal budget every year. We just have to wait out the boomers before we can even consider making the socialist programs viable again. Its their fault we get sucked into bullshit messes every god damn year anyway.
Agreed.
The only reasonable solution is to cull the previous generations. Anyone Gen X or older should do the trick. Also without them there would be a plenty of retirement monies saved up for when we retire
>on the subject of loyalty
I am quite loyal to the managers that hire me and the staff they have, but the people that make these cost-cutting decisions are usually on the other side of the country and only interact with us when they want us to watch some useless HR seminar or want to fire us.
A mom & pop or start up would be different I suppose.
This. Then the boomers get ass blasted and call everyone younger then them entitled when they were the entitled generation.
Assuming your career is not a totally dead end or dying trade the "old people" are not going to stop new blood from entering in to the workforce.
ideally
Yeah that is so true considering I own my house, so no out lay there, my vehicles are paid for, oops yeah I am living the low life. Also my medical benes count for nothing as well, I have a $1K deductible, with zero med cost. I pay basic bills, and have money in the bank. So yeah I am just some lower MC serf.
And what are you making? What field? Will your job be relevant in a few years?
Sounds like middle middle class.
that's the kind of loyalty i'm talking about . i don't see it in kids today. all i see is slackness & antisocial behavior. they seem unable to grasp that those people will be your references if you change job.
when your new, potential boss calls your old one, you want him to say: yes! user is a very dedicated worker. always comes in time, works hard and makes no trouble. we're actually sorry we had to let him go/that he choose to quit.
by any chance do you operate by southern california
Yes the class that built this nation. Also the ones that have the jobs that cannot get outsourced, or moved over seas. Also cannot hire illegals to do what I do, the regulations are too tight. So yeah I am proud to be MC.
I have but I am back east now. I also worked in Vegas, which was frickin pornographic pay until the crash.
