Punk is like a reaction to pop. It has a lot of the same elements while also critiqueing it.

By being reactionary and critical it became something else entirely, not how I would envision something taking influence from pop and creating a new layer of sound. It completely changed the sound
Mouse on the Keys plays it pretty straight as a drums, bass and piano 3 piece. BADBADNOTGOOD does some more interesting production stuff but I wouldn't consider anything they've done to be "glitch" or even glitch influenced.

Like consider with this argument, punk rock could also be post-rock in the same way you're saying it could be post-pop. But post-rock sounds like a variation of rock based on its influence instead of being something else. I'd argue post-pop would have a similar relationship with pop as post-rock does with rock, ultimately sounding nothing like punk
