Needs to make $400 Million to break even

>Needs to make $400 Million to break even
>Only made $145 Million after two weeks (Not even passed its budget)

Will this literally be the biggest box office bomb of all time?

>it's a SGT Colbert thinks he's an airplane episode

My mom saw it five times, it'll be fine

>Not even passed its budget
> 145

we know she fills up the whole theater, but that's still only one ticket per viewing

It is a shame because I like Alexander Skarsgard and this will blacklist him for a while just like Armie Hammer

HE CAN'T CARRY A FILM BRO

Its production budget of 180 Million faggot

>No extremely violent rape with long impregnation and birth scenes
Dropped

Have you heard of Pluto Nash and 47 Ronin?

And you understand that the studio needs to add another $150 million at least for world wide marketing, but they only get half the box office take-- and even less out of China.

No shit, I said it didn't even pass its production budget so far which typically isn't a good sign for a movie

Pretty good desu

nice dubs

Why was this movie so shit Sup Forumsros?

This is the blindspot in Hollywood producer logic:
>Director's last three films made $1 billion+
>clearly he is a talent and deserves a huge budget

The directors last three films were Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. I, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2.

Literally any idiot could've made those movies and still grossed a gazillion dollars (which is exactly what happened with Sorcerer's Stone & Chamber of Secrets).

Worse than John Carter?

It was very pedestrian and boring. Even Waltz couldn't save it.

No. John Carter had a bigger budget and made even less. Must be something about Edgar Rice Burroughs stories.

...

Youre a dumb fucking shit half blood prince and deathly hallows part 1 oooze tone, are beautiful, work as films and in the series progression. Yates was much more inspired in his directing in hp.

Do you think the movie cleaners will ever get the stains and smell of your mothers pussy slime out of the seats? The only reason this movie made any money was women having a Schlick to the main character.

Tarzan needs more racism of the novels to stand out. As it is it's too bland. Even Peter Jackson knew when you go pulp you need the racialism like he did with King Kong.

My mom saw that one EIGHT times

I really want Alexander Skarsgard to make it, I've enjoyed him in everything he's been in, even when it was shit.

Christoph Waltz is bomb-proof, and Margot Robbie is just the flavor of the month, so maybe this was destined to fail.

>Be Warner Bros.
>Watch John Carter
>"I know; I'll make my own umpteen-fucking-million dollar Edgar Rice Burroughs adaptation! OMG GREATEST IDEA EVAR!!!:)"
>Movie flops
>"How the hell did this happen?!?!?!"

This movie is John Carter 2, and Alexander Skarsgard's career is about to go the way of Taylor Kitsch. Poor guy.

>Miscarriage plot goes nowhere
>Tribal chief wants revenge on Tarzan plot goes nowhere
>Slave plot goes nowhere
>Elephants are introduced but never become relevant
>Tarzan has absolutely no character

word of mouth could have killed it, especially with goblet being bad. Yates passed Nolan on the all time grossing list with only 5 films. Yates were all critically acclaimed and even morso recieved by audiences. Cuarons installment grossed the least amount but it was the best reviewed. The studio said letting the directors direct is what makes the films good that's whey they felt able to go with Yates. He did 4 and did Fantastic Beasts for a reason

Infact the studio went as far to even ignire Del Toro wanting to direct HBP and Cuaron wanting to do deathly hallows because they already had and liked Yates

They always pick the wrong Burroughs stories. If you make the stories with the dinosaurs up the yin yang like Caspack or Pellucidar you can do it.

Except Taylor Kitsch was a TV actor from a moderately popular TV show at the time the movie was casting. Skarsgard has been working pretty steadily in movies here n' there, though not really as a lead.

I think he can probably pull this one out with the right future role, but if the public rejects him as a lead then it's back to supporting rolls forever (i.e. Kristen Bell).

Do. Not. Name. Your. Movie. After the main character. "John Carter" was a terrible fucking title, and while it didn't single-handedly sink the movie, it didn't help. "John Carter of Mars" might've been more intriguing, but "Mars Needs Moms" had just bombed (which is the ACTUAL biggest bomb of all time, btw), so... y'know, producer-logic.

Caspack maybe, but only tinfoil-hat Hollow earthers would want to see Pellucidar. That's the kind of shit that killed Brendon Frasier's career.

It was still a machine the way Marvel movies are from a machine. One hit with great source material does not translate to a great director, and for proof I present to you The Lovely Bones, King Kong, and all three Hobbit movies.

In all fairness the word Tarzan is gorillaese for "White Ape". Though how a gorilla can utter the word Tarzan is beyond me.

The director has absolutely zero talent. Only hired because of Harry Potter.

Let me amend that: If the director DOES have talent, then he just made the post-hit mistake Jackson did, in that "I just had three hit movies, I'm going to adapt a racist allegory with 19th-century origins."

You made a bad mistake, Yates.

He directed the fuck out of 5 6 7

Well apparently he's directed tv before including political stuff and recently the pilot to tyrant which was well recieved and is on its third season

The script was shit and ita tarzan. Nobody cared. The director is fine and much better than you

Guys guys, you're all missing the point here.

Atleast Tarzan is not Black.

I mean, the way things have been going with all this SJW non stop pushing of race agendas, this can be seen as a silver line.

yeah they ooze all right

He had 4 hit movies that put him less than a hundred million Nolan. Cuarons and Yates hp films were the best. Everything about thr film was doomed it was a bad studio decision

Nice taste. They have top atmosphere, camera work, acting and feeling/vision in the direction

>not knowing what a production budget is

fucking retard

>1 & 2
>bad

>anything after 3
>good

...

>he thinks either of the first two HP movies were good

Is this bait? This feels like bait.

Literally conrarianism.

And I love chamber but colombus' arenr near the best. Cuarons and Yates are. Which are up to you, lots of people like them and they are much better than the first two as films get some appreciation.

Its contrarianism at its finest. Its niche faggotry to think only the first two are good. Or only the first three. Sure goblet was eh but the others were good. Cuarons direction is what made the studio comfortable giving the series to Yates

>no washed out grey bullshit
>comfy as fuck
>has vastly superior slightly-too-frail dumbledore instead of the angry old fuck who yells constantly and shakes Harry like his least-favorite baby

I'm just making fun of BLM/feminists

Not that guy, but 2 and 3 were my favourite Harry Potter movies. I wouldn't defend 2 objectively, but I don't think it was very bad, just a product of child actors and adjusting to the adaptation.

Nice fucking memes you dip you can't analyse film or material way to go. Also the colors and cinematography are great. You have a problem and can't appreciate something different

>washed out
>grey
Yea no kys because you cant even critique something properly

Pic related is the philosphers stone. Its dull as fuck.

Dumbledore only yells in goblet of fire i already said goblet was the worst so stop using that are a main point he was perfect in 3 and 6

>harris can't even move without dying
>good
He was humble not ecclectic. Gambon was great except when he was directed by newell you plebian. Idziak Delbonnel and Serra had the best camera work along with Sesserin. They look much better than the first two get a better tv

>waah it's p-patrician you c-can't disagree with me I'm gonna get you banned from the subreddit

Those colors are purely pleasant, which can also be used to describe the entirety of the first and second films.

Dumbledore also grabs/shakes Harry somewhere in the 5th or 6th movie, and he's generally harsh and shows none of the tenderness and affection Dumbledore gives Harry in the books. Ideal Dumbledore would be Gambon's looks with Harris's temperament.

You're a fool shitposter...and you will lose....everything.

Its the forth movie you insufferable bitch. Yates directed dumbeldore fine. He's on edge in phoneix bc the school is being taken over. Gambom was chill as fuck in 3 6.

The others have better cinematography and direction youre blind.

Continue to cherrypick Yates had 3 very different cinmatographers and they all put in better work than 1 2. The only interesting thing Colombus told his cinematographer to do was dutch angles

In the grand scheme of things the Harry Potter movies had some pretty good child actors for such a large cast.

>wah my complaints derive from the books
>not trying to seperate the films as their own medium
Goblet of fire was shit

Order of the phoneix was good
Half blood prince was really good
Dh1 really good
Dh 2 good

3>7>6>5>2>8>1>4 not that hard

Why people hate on Order I'll never know, aside from 3 I think it's the comfiest of them all.

The had really goods casts and all the movies are comfy and well done.

Its subjective but peoole that say only the first ones are good are fags

I like all of them like I said its subjective. But I think ootp is vastly underrated as are hpb and dh1. Yates did well imo. My top 4 are 3 5 6 7 its hard to pick what order

>baww he's on edge
>m-muh cinematography
>grrrrrr insufferable blind bitch!!!!

downboated

Who wanted this? When has Tarzan ever been interesting except for the version in Planetary?

Bad idea all around

Fuck is your mom me?

It's a shame
It's actually a good movie

Great job still commentating like you know anything when you could even notice goblet was the one directed weirdly and where dumblede shakes harry. You don't even have common sense. Rewatch them and come back to me

And for all our sakes don't watch a 3gb rip

Tarzan needed to be black, the publicity of that would have helped the movie big time.

I didnt even know this movie was out, because everyone fucking yawned and didnt give a shit about another white Tarzan that has been told a million times.

A black Tarzan would have get the Black Lives Matter movement involved in promoting this, and white women would have talked about this movie, fantasizing about being in a jungle making love to a savage black man, and the cuked white man trying to stop Tarzan. This movie would have made 1 billion had they done that.

>baw he's on edge in the orwellian styled movie
Huh

>baww I can't actually detect good cinematography lel
>baww I'm just gonna shitpost and not offer anything to the conversation
>b-but the studio director who has the easiest adaptations was the best
Heh

Tarzan needed to be black.
and the Gorillas white.

someone somewhere would have seen a black man swinging from trees as slightly racist.

Its not bad but its still his worst movie by far. Robbie was terrible

It has a great climax, on a rewatch I wasnt ready for the feels during the possession scene

Here's some fresh OC

...

No Phil Collins.

Disney's Tarzan is the best we're going to get, and it's actually an excellent movie.

youtube.com/watch?v=zp_6RLAGINU

I can't tell by your wording if you're agreeing that the animated movie is better or disagreeing because you thought I meant Phil Collins made the movie bad.

Pro tip: It made it even better.

Disney's Tarzan is just mediocre except for the amazing character animation.

No, no, I love Disney's Tarzan, and Phil Collins was a big reason for that.

Honestly, Phil Collins was one of those weird choices Disney makes creatively that winds up being totally brilliant. They have at least one of those per animated movie, it seems.

I kinda liked it, the third act is just weak and some of the characters end up being rather shallow.
