Dungeon Synth thread. I doubt people who listen to dungeon synth are out doing anything on a Saturday night, so post what you've been listening to recently.

Hmm, its alright. Never heard of it till now. I'm more into psybient sort of space music and instrumentals and dungeon synth doesn't hurt my ears at all. Cool thanks for the introduction.
Listen to Solanum - Spheres of Time. Possibly one of the most space-y dungeon synth albums.
I need more DS tapes. I have a super special one coming in the mail
You should get the Mortiis tapes from Foreign Sound. I've been listening to them nonstop ever since I got them this winter. They look very nice as well.
Bump
Has anyone here listened to dungeon syth while playing D&D or some other type of pen & paper rpg?
I think that's kind of what it's for, like the dm could incorporate different tracks into the campaign.
digits confirm
I never thought I'd see the day that there was finally a Dungeon Synth thread on Sup Forums. I can't make them myself because I'm Australian.
Faery Ring is probably one of the best modern DS artists - and his music is all free, too.
youtube.com
Yes. I often put on Mortiis or Lord Lovidicus when I'm playing with my friends.
You kidding? We've had some massive DS threads on here, we even ran Dungeon Synth December and have several consecutive threads hit the bump limit.
I rarely come on Sup Forums - I just look for black metal threads mostly, because I have no interest in and don't want to participate in shitposting threads or threads about negro music.
Why does Erang make the worst dungeon synth?
>listening to Edgebient
Dungeon Synth isn't necessarily ambient.
It's been like a month since i listened to ds and I don't feel like just listening to whatever DSA has put out the past little while, what should i listen to? preferably some older stuff that's not obvious.
I wouldn't say worst, just inconsistent. Sometimes it's brilliant. Other times, not so much. Last stuff wasn't so much.
What have you listened to? What are your favorites.
Listen to Hate Forest - Temple Forest. It's one of my favorite dungeon synth albums, but doesn't get as much appreciation as it should.
I find that it just feels really uninspired. Completely emotionless.
I'm not the biggest fan but his first album is maximum comfy.
listening now, thanks man. Were you the dude in the genre thread? I was op.
yeah i agree, but his 2015 album was fucking great. Sounded like a kvlt version of the Frozen soundtrack, in a good way.
His 2013 album with the castle on it (forgot the name) is good too.
I keep half expecting these albums to become thrash black or death metal albums considering all the albums that start like this or have a interlude with a similar sound
dungeon synth evolved out of the interludes to those albums, so makes sense.
ITT: Nazi's
I'm a borderline sjw, but if liking dungeon synth makes me a nazi than heil hitler.
*Nazis
>listening to a genre of music deeply rooted in pro-European culture and philosophy
>borderline SJW
Listening to music that makes me feel the fun of playing an oldschool RPG without the part about all videogames sucking makes me a nazi?
I'm not a nazi, I'm a civic nationalist

who is goat varg or mortiis?
Depressive Silence.
this
DS > Varg > Mortiis
>Depressive Silence.
literally the first time hearing the term Dungeon Synth was today, I don't browse Sup Forums very often, I like burzum though, and I love their demo to death, some black metal fans recommended I listen to it
It's weird, I don't think I've ever heard someone argue against DS ii being the greatest dungeon synth album ever. I'm sure there are people who disagree, but I've never heard a counter argument, and that is fucking bizzare on Sup Forums of all places.
>>Depressive Silence
They're a fantastic entry-point for people who aren't already fans of the genre.
There are probably albums that I like more, but DS ii is fucking amazing. 'Forest of Eternity' is really something else.
What albums do you think are better? Or that I should check out?
I think it's one of those albums like Loveless, where even if people like and prefer other albums, everyone will admit that it's an absolute classic and one of the best.
Which black metal artist has the best dungeon synth interludes on their black metal albums?
Burzum obviously goes without saying. Songs like Han some Reite and Tomhet are absolute classics.
I like Xasthurs though. The intro to Suicide in a Dark Serenity is pretty spooky but well done, and all his albums have one or two interludes that evoke a dark medieval feeling.
Enids s/t has some great DS elements. One ofmy favourite bm albums actually-
Fantastic choice, I rarely see that demo discussed, but it's one of the most medieval black metal albums I heard. I love it. Check out Rivendell - The Ancient Glory.
Yes, rivendells stuff is great too, although he never surpassen the ancient glory with his other two albums.
I remember that some time ago an user posted a mega link with the albums on the chart. Does anyone have it?
Not neccesarily interludes, but if anyone who likes black metal AND dungeon synth hasn't listened to Minas Morgul by Summoning, they are doing themselves a great, great disservice.
Opinions on Old Tower? I'm really starting to dig this stuff
What, this is fucking Runescape music
I like it
It has high ties to ambient and started in a more ambient vein, I feel like. But yeah now not so much

Brazilian dungeon synth coming through.
Technically DSii's official title is Mourning now.
I enjoy that project a lot
I need more /comfy synth/ similar to Fief, Chronicles of Jest, and Apothecarium
Moonworshipper is such a great label
