When I was in high school I made fun of a kid for liking Sky High because I thought it was a dumb kid's movie. When I watched it later I realized that it's a masterpiece and have felt bad about making fun of that kid ever since.

It's usually seen as the precursor to the marvel and dc cinematic universes. When movies like the Toby Maguire Spiderman movies were in full swing, Sky High came out pretty mild on the low-chatter pseudo-indie scene. It basically proved to modern audiences that capekino was actually, legitimately a thing. The powers and superheroes are a big part of the movie, but the dynamic between characters as they develop is fucking superb. I know Sup Forums shills a lot of horrible arthouse but this legitimately is a 10/10 if you ever want to get REALLY into cape movies.
