So this and the sequel are the only examples of true capekino, right?

Rewatched them recently, even the second one sucks. As a lad, I was 100% convinced that 2 was better than 1. It's honestly not even close, the first one blows the second out of the water.

>copious CGI fighting
>Dock Ock's motivations make no sense
>Peter and MJ playing relationship chicken
>Peter losing his powers because he doesn't want to be Spiderman or some shit
>non-stop dramatic dialogue between characters
>Ock goes to question Peter about Spiderman's whereabouts, throws a car at him first

It's just one constant shitfest. The first one is total GOAT tier though.

First one was a good adaptation, even if lacking in some parts. Origin was great.

As for SM2, sure it was like Ironman 3 where it was more Peter than Spider-Man but it had some great bits all in all, and it was the best one for Aunt May, which funny enough has more memorable moments than Mary Jane.

The fight on the train is great, but other than that, I legitimately disliked it after rewatching it. We tried to watch 3 after as well, but we made it about a half hour in before we had to turn it off.

I like 2, but 1 is way better, I agree

The first Superman movie was kino.

Sandman was the only redeemable part of Spider-Man 3, as well as Stan Lee's small talk to Parker and the Bruce Cambell cameo of course

BvS
Watchmen
Man of Steel

Is this a meme?

>tfw you start noticing all the little references to Evil Dead (especially in the operating room scene in 2) and other Raimi films
>tfw all dem Bruce Campbell cameos in different weird jobs
>tfw Spider-Man 4 was supposed to have him as Mysterio after the build-up from his cameos but it got cancelled

Would've been real interesting if the guy was Mysterio. Anne Hathaway was supposed to be in SM4 as Black Cat or Felicia Hardy in a Vulture costume, I think.

They're not even entry level, just joints.

Fuck off Snyder, not everything has to be edgy and grimdark.

...

>without based Bruce peter would be swinging around as the human spider right now

News would probably take a syllable off and call him "Man-Spider".

It's only now that I'm older that realize what a brilliant comedic farce this is

Raimi is a genius

So then when Peter mutates into this: marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Man-Spider

he would be called the Spider-Man.

We weren't good enough to deserve this

meant for

This picture is so groovy man, wish I could get a poster of it for him to sign at comic con next month.

peter lost his powers in the comics atleast once that i recall but its shoe horned into the movie, ill give you that. As for doc ock his motivation was completing his lifes work, he was being driven by the arms which they set up earlier as being able to influence him without the inhibitor that was broken. A silly premise, but this is a comic book villain.

Why is Bruce Campbell so based, lads?

They're the only comic book movies that I can think of that don't take themselves too seriously and are self-aware.

He's just so naturally charismatic and funny. Its pretty remarkable how he only gets more entertaining with age. Hyped for old man Bruce and the films that follow

Nothing's worryin' meeeeeeeee

that whole montage was comfy ashell

;_; why continue to live?

youtube.com/watch?v=nfm-iYzgjqw

>tfw will never make a movie with them

I always think the movie is going to end on the freeze frame. I've seen it a dozen times and I still think oh its over

They were the only superhero movies that felt like a cinematic comic book. Serious when they needed to be, but self aware enough to indulge in a bit of cheesiness. Raimi is a true kinographer.

...

So true

I kind of wish Spider-Man 3 ended like that, 3's ending felt so unfulfilling.

Yeah I cant believe thats how the whole trilogy ended... fuck you sony

>tfw Sony had to strongarm Raimi into shoehorning Venom into 3 when it was supposed to just be Sandman and maybe Vulture
Fuck Sony, honestly,

I honestly think Spider-Man 2 is the best superhero film. Love everything about it.

Goddamn they look like they're having so much fun, especially Alfred Molina.

Their movie studio really is crooked as fuck (especially after ASM2 and Ghostbusters), those email leaks really showed how little they care for the quality of their films.

My personal favorites are the 90's Batman movies but Spider-Man 1 and 2 are fucking great, you can really tell they were labors of love even if the CGI hasn't aged so well.

Same. You know, recently I saw Amazing Spiderman 2 and then I watched Raimi's Spiderman 2 and Raimi's version was just so much better. It had more life, it felt more organic.

I don't really feel that from capeshit nowadays, it's like bad guy shows up -> quip -> beat bad guy -> sequel bait after the credits

Burton Batman really put some effort into the city design.

The Amazing Spider-Man movies were literally only made for Sony to retain the rights to the franchise, also I definitely feel ya about modern capeshit.
2008 was the last decent year for capeshit before every villain became forgettable as fuck and the dialogue became cringey as fuck.

That was the point. 1 and 2 ended with an uplifting triumphant note, Raimi decided that 3 would end on a bittersweet, ambiguous note.

Yeah pretty much. One of my favorite parts about Spider-Man 2 is how much time they put into the characters.

The final battle in SM1 felt really imactful because of the lack of music.

youtube.com/watch?v=fU69hldyq7U

I felt like all of them had bittersweet endings though

Post favorite scenes.
youtube.com/watch?v=RWJQR6SNMF8

Wasn't that in anticipation of Spider-Man 4 though?
The movie's ending really does seem set up for another sequel.

Fuck I'm actually pretty pissed about Bruce Mysterio not happening.

Along with Burton's Batman films

They all had silver linings.

In 1, Peter rejects MJ, but she recognizes his kiss, leaving hope for the truth to come out.

In 2, they get back together even though she's worried, it's a win for both.

Yea you're right about 2 , it was 1 that I really thought had a really nice ending, it wasn't too cliche

The shots of the guy with the chainsaw always make me giddy, I kind of want an Ash vs. Spider-Man movie.

No. "Spider-Man 4" was only greenlit later.

And people overhype Campbell's Mysterio. It would literally be a throwaway joke.

>Spider-Man walks into the police station with Mysterio in handcuffs.
>Mysterio is a joke and the entire police station laughs at him. He's out of shape and in a shitty homemade costume.
>His fishbowl helmet comes off and it's Bruce Campbell. He swears revenge at Spider-Man as everyone laughs at how lame he is and give Spider-Man high fives.
>And it'd just be part of a larger montage.

Should have kept that take of Raimi dragging Tobey with backpack.

I know it's from SM3, but this scene really had some emotional weight behind it.
m.youtube.com/watch?v=StIXd1EPOF0

You can tell this is the shit Raimi actually wanted in the movie lol.

Sand CG wasn't too bad either

It literally was. If Sony hadn't stuck their fat asses into Raimi's vision it would have had the same emotion throughout the entire movie.

>Peter losing his powers because he doesn't want to be Spiderman or some shit
>Ock goes to question Peter about Spiderman's whereabouts, throws a car at him first
fug

Both really good points that I never thought about.

The 2nd point you can attribute to the AI in the arms influencing Octavius.

I thought he lost his powers because he was keeping his love for MJ inside, as well as subconsciously regretting his role as spiderman, which was the complete opposite as how he was at the beginning of spiderman 3

>tfw he sees the sirens passing and just keeps munching on his hot dog

More character development in one scene than every MCU to date.

>bruce campbell will die in your lifetime

I've watched first one recently and honestly it's still great, I thought after all this time and all the other flicks it's not gonna hold up, but it's just great. There are better superhero films, but it's still the best origin story, even Batman Begins and Iron Man are weaker

its always been shit. all capeshit is.

1 isn't

2 is

btw

Watchmen Director's Cut
Spider-Man 2 (Theatrical or extended)
The Dark Knight
Dawn of Justice Ultimate Cut

Legitimate Capekino.

>dawn of justice ultimate cut
>spiderman 2

I believe this is what you came for.

...

...

Just watched 1 for the first time.

Why was it so fucking good? What the fuck?

and why didn't pete accept gobby's offer?

Just saw Spiderman 2 again for the first time since theaters. It is far and away the best comic book movie and the only one I could call capekino unironically.

I always liked the 1st more and disliked the 2nd, thank you for validating my opinion.

ITSY BITSY SPIDER WENT UP THE WATER SPOUT

Sleeeeeeeep

;_;7

>the scene where Peter BTFOs Harry's face in 3
Fuck, gives me chills everytime.
What could've been had Sony not interfered.
