What was your reaction when you realised Carly Rae Jepsen dropped the best album of 2015? What's the best track and why is it Gimmie Love

that's a strange way of spelling run away with me

Sorry but Art Angels is the real AOTY 2015.

/thread

I was in 2015

there isn't a single thing correct about this post. Fuck off

I was shocked, who knew the Call Me Maybe bitch had this in her
I love Grimes, but that's a damn lie

solid pop album

Ahem

>I love Grimes, but that's a damn lie
It's not. I'm yet to hear a better album in 2015 AND 2016. Feel free to recommend me something from 2015 better than AA.

This. People tend to not take this album seriously because of the ridiculous cover, but the actual music is outstanding.

It's in the OP-post

Why would the cover matter? People don't take it seriously because it's glorified bubblegum pop with nothing redeeming other than occasional catchiness

AOTY 2015 is a stretch but it's definitely the best mainstream pop album of that year. The poptimist plebs shilling this album 24/7 on Sup Forums put me off listening to it until like three months ago but it is indeed pretty fantastic.

Best track is either Boy Problems, Emotion, or LA Hallucinations

DS2

From what I've heard I doubt this is actually good, but I'm not gonna listen to the whole thing because my sister listens to Carly and I don't like listening to the same music as my sisters.

>People don't take it seriously because it's glorified bubblegum pop with nothing redeeming other than occasional catchiness
That's complete bullshit and you know it. Lots of other people and critics took this album seriously.

e.g. Christgau:
>Generally the soprano signifies purity, which has never been my idea of virtue, not to mention fun. And given how hard it is to achieve, there can be a vanity to it as well--or in earlier Claire Boucher, a self-regarding freakishness. But on this pop-yet-not breakthrough, that pretension is blown away by generous tunes, changeable grooves, and dedicated intensity of purpose. This singer-composer-producer is neither cute nor ethereal, and although the consistency of her register is an affectation by definition, she'll convince anyone who isn't a grouch that she's just being herself, not merely female but, fuck you, feminine--the fairie she likes to claim crossed with a charming three-year-old getting what she wants. Which includes adrenaline highs and mitigated perversity and California love and pornography in phonetic Chinese. She embodies hyperfeminist individualism for a post-rock mindset that likes a good beat fine. A

Where's your god now?

There's this wave of music critics from like the 80s who don't offer meaningful criticism a work but rather describe what the work sounds like. It's basically just an advertisement for music they like. Essentially for this camp of critics, music is about image. They are trying to promote an image via listening to the music, but also create an image around the music. I don't think this is really a great sin or anything but I think Christgau is a shit critic

I never heard of her before i saw Emotion in rym charts (Call Me Maybe is obscure in my country, no one knows this song here) and download it. I listen to Call Me Maybe after Emotion and its her only good song before 3th album, she was boring one hit wonder.
>best track and why is it Gimmie Love
Best (and most undderrated) is Lest Get Lost IMO.

Sorry, that's not Tame Impala's Currents.
And the best song is Let's Get Lost, by far, anyway

Art Angels was only 2nd best

bump

Currents it's no better than Art Angels, you can be sure of that.

Dark Souls 2 came out in 2014 you moron.
