you guys are making me feel obligated to listen to this right away
what to expect?
i dont listen to much hiphop or rap other than doom and lil uzi.

If you ever lived in the hood, or had to hustle to pay rent.. you will be able to relate.

the sound of New York circa 1993.
lots of boom bap beats and lyrical triplets
references to 80s hip hop and the recently ended crack era
its basically a time capsule. its best understood with a walk through no-ho on a brisk summer night with 8 shots of cheap vodka in your system

Here use this version from now on

expect to never want to listen to uzi again

Pay attention to his bars, the lyrics Nas rapped on that album were some of the greatest rap lyrics ever.

>other than doom and lil uzi

lel what the fuck

this, probably the only album with more quotable lines is Criminal Minded. rappers reference it without even noticing sometimes, its so ingrained

>doom and lil uzi.
what a weird mix

anyway this is the best east coast hip hop album
I listen to a lot of others more often but this is just superior
probably top 3 in the entire genre desu
expect for the beats to not sound like modern ones though, but still very well done

Its amazing, it doesn't posses a mindblowing element its just so consistently excellent.

The production is vintage New York, Nas has one of the best flows of all time, and his lyrics are just so damn tight.

Every track is great, but highlights are:
Ny State of Mind, The World is Yours, halftime, Sittin in the park, one love, it aint hard to tell

DOOM takes a lot of influence from Nas (as do most rappers to come out between 1997-2012ish)

So the whole album, basically

You forgot memory lane. Personal fav

...

Classic.

listen to mobb deep's "the infamous" after

DOOM has been rapping since the 80s my dude. His main influence was his brother Subroc.

Save time and listen to liquid swords

Straight out the fuckin dungeon of rap

>i domt listem to much hiphop or rap other than doom and lil uzi
