What are Sup Forums's honest thoughts on Django Unchained?

Nightmare mode: No Sup Forums shit.

>This movie confirms that Tarantino is Hollywood's most self-hating nerd.

>No Sup Forums shit
Impossible, we're infested with those limp-dick insecure twinks here

It was alright but felt disjointed. The first half had a lot more levity with the plantation mob scene and things like that, whereas the latter bits of it shifted abruptly into being constantly tense and also contained within more or less one building. It felt like it would've just been more interesting to see Django and Schultz keep up the bounty hunter thing and get into a bunch of wacky antics but instead we got the candy plantation for an hour.

I love this guy. He shredded that loser flick Whiplash.

And he loved Everybody Wants Some!!

yea. if the whole movie was about the adventures of django and shultz, it would literally be the best shit ever. but the second half was quite dope too, just felt like it would have been waayyyyy better if they made the film go another direction. still like it tho

this
they're like cockroaches

It was building up to something great but then threw it all on the floor and had the nignog kill everyone because ooga booga fuck whitey we wuz kingz.
Bad movie, not awful.

Good flick.

Not Quentins best, but I enjoyed it.

The KKK scene was hilarious.

Think about it: Wouldn't you rather they stay limp than have full erections?

P.funny

>had the nignog kill everyone because ooga booga fuck whitey we wuz kingz
Or maybe because it's a tarantino flick and that's what he does?

The first hour or so was good.

Rest, not so much

Its very good 2bh

It was fun, but Quentin peaked at Basterds tbqh

it kind of sucked

Then scene with the mob complaining about the hoods/bags was actually fucking great. The rest of the movie is pretty grim however.

>The two niggers fighting
>The nigger who got torn to shreds by the dogs
>All the little flashback moments

There's very few moments of genuine comic relief.

Revenge porn for black people.
It works well if that's your thing, otherwise it was just a decent movie.
Tarantino needs to start making something other than movies about revenge, though. It's really starting to feel like he's beating a dead horse.

He could have done it in a more elegant way. Having some black guy running around shooting everyone for no apparent reason is no fun.

It's supposed to be OTT and ridiculous. Whether you like that or not is down to personal preference, but that's what it is.

Yeah, pretty dark when it came to the slavery shit (studied history on all slave trades, and how people treated their slaves).

How is it revenge? Django had a white man help him get his revenge.

Besides, by that logic, wouldn't American history X or birth of a nation also be considered revenge porn for whites?

as opposed to a white bride slashing a thousand japs? It's literally like every other one his flicks, seems like you're just insecure about it being a black guy

It was fun, nothing special though.

He's got you there, user.

Or what of any other scene in a movie where a white person kill mobs of minorities?

It's good, like most Tarantino movies. How good you think it is really just depends on your taste.

She was using a sword, which made the choreography interesting. And killing the japs were the means to an end, so it wasn't really pointless.
Django was killing people for no reason with a gun.

>How is it revenge?
It's a black escaped slave killing hordes of white slave owners and their enablers. How can you not consider that revenge?

>wouldn't American history X or birth of a nation also be considered revenge porn for whites?
American History X has a clear message of 'can't we all just get along?', so revenge really isn't the point of it.
Haven't seen Birth of a Nation, but from what I understand, it could qualify as revenge porn for whites, or at least racist wish-fulfilment.

Still don't understand why Shultz couldn't just shake his hand.

I know it's for the sake of the story, but come the fuck on. The deal was done, they got what they came for, paid the price they wanted to pay, and were all set to walk on out of there no harm no foul. I'm actually surprised the character of Candy didn't just tell them to fuck off. $12,000 is a lot of money, sure, but he was clearly an already very wealthy man. It just seemed weird he was so willing to go along with it and grant them their initial wish.

>thread about a cucks deepest fantasy
>infested by reddit
who could have guessed?

It was alright, it's a huge step down from his previous film, IB, which I consider to be his masterpiece.

>Yeah, pretty dark when it came to the slavery shit (studied history on all slave trades, and how people treated their slaves).
I touched on it briefly too, but not enough to compare it to reality. It's not really that accurate outside of a handful of recorded mistreatments is it?

pretty boring hbt
Hateful 8 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Django

It's a meme massacre.

Good because of the performance by Leo, since he can't ever fucking act in any other movie.

Bad because it's pushing a political narrative.

It makes up for it by being satirical and having ultra-violence.

Not an amazing movie, but I'd probably watch it again.

Oh yeah, Samuel as Uncle Ruckus was fucking hilarious. Fox was also excellent.

The overacting in this movie was goofy as fuck and I loved it.

the whole film was one big meta-commentary on the spectacle of black-on-black violence (mandingo fighting), and how that translates into the competition of the film industry for black people to fill a prescribed role ('the black hercules'). There's so much in it about role playing, about the desensitising effects of myth (we're okay with Django killing hundreds of people because brunhilda needs her siegfried) and the idea of selling out your race (the black slaver), its a really interesting film to consider in light of the BLM movement.

cuckshit/10
Really not much to say about it. :(

Cool review Ebert, I give it a like and a thumbs up!!!

It was too confusing.
Why didn't he just shake his hand?

Jamie Foxx was the weak link, he got carried by everyone else.
Main reason why it dropped so hard in the last act.

It's fucking garbage.

That's true.

I'd much rather have a thread where high IQ blacks and Hispanics, who are noted great filmmakers and critics, can openly dissect the technology and artform that they created and continue to dominate.

Jaimie Foxx wasn't on the same level as the other actors and it showed (badly), especially in the last act.

What exactly are you trying to say? I didn't say that blacks or hispanics make better art or anything of the sort. Are you retarded?

It's a perfect movie

hateful 8 was edgy unlogical whodunit bullshit load of horseshit shitshit fuckshit shit movie

Yeah i agree, pretty weird considering he's the best actor in the movie

Samuel Jackson's best performance.

I literally just said that..

I thought it was really good until that big stupid gunfight at the end. Totally ruined Schultz's character to kill Candie in a stupid way like that.
Tarantino's appearance was awful.
The music was godly.

7/10 Tbh, certainly nowhere near Tarantino's worst work.

Racist propaganda.Anti-white movie.Promotes violence and hatred towards white ppl.Should be banned.

Hateful 8 was genuinely bad.
Featuring
>sam jackson as himself
>michael madsen as exactly the same character he played in kill bill
>tim roth as british christoph waltz
>ebin spanish guy
goggins, russell and the woman were good though

>banning racist movies
there's racism on both sides of the coin lad
in fact it's much worse on yours

stay silent you stupid shitskin

lel

what are you going to do about it?

you're some powerless user posting on Sup Forumseddit

>>tim roth as british christoph waltz
fucking this
it was painful to watch how obviously the role was pre-written for Chris, and when he bailed out to do James Bond, Tarantino adopted Tim Roth and made him pretend like he's completely the same person as his biological son Chris

Could have used some gratuitous nudity from Sheba.

why should i do anything with you, stupid nignog

you will somehow nigger yourself to death anyway

you sound like a powerful big white man with a big dick

si

>Good because of the performance by Leo, since he can't ever fucking act in any other movie.

Fuck you bitch don't talk about Leo like that

>for no apparent reason

I thought it was okay.
Loved the shootout near the end.

His point is that Sup Forums is inside all of us. Even (you)

I don't know. It isn't like hes never worked with roth before, and really he only has one scene to do anything in, and its a pretty great scene.

Its just more that he looks like waltz in django thanany parallels with the character.

True.

A lot of this.

Tarrantino's appearance was just awful. It was like an amateur community access indie film level cameo.

The movie was too long.

Jamie Foxx stunk it up, he really seems like he's not the smartest guy around.

I really felt Inglorious Basterds was amongst his best films. Django was a MASSIVE step backwards.

And once again, blacks need to have whites to make movies about them and their "history"

It's a fucking masterpiece, Quentin is bae and delivers every time

You pretty much summed up the entire movie. I was surprised by how well Goggins did though. His character was easily the best in the movie, followed by Russell's.

I like it but the movie falls apart when you realize that Django and German Guy were too stupid to realize they could have just bought Django's girlfriend along with the mandingo fighter.

The only violence against white people were slave owners.

>And once again, blacks need to have whites to make movies about them and their "history"
Did you just completely miss Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave? Based on Solomon Northup, an actual person. Django is a made up story.

Good movie, pretty fun. Basterds was better, but this one was still enjoyable.

I'd love to see a movie about the millions of slaves currently held in Africa.

It's 2016 and there are literally millions of slaves in Africa. I've never heard BLM show the slightest regard for those people.

t. Honest Liberal

sorry I don't like an actor that consists of whispering and YELLING REALLY LOUDLY

BLM is specifically about American police brutality. There are groups that cover slavery/human trafficking.

So they ignore millions of black slaves held by other Africans.

They ignore the many thousands of blacks slaughtered by other blacks every year on America.

They overlook the fact that 3% of the population (black men ages 18-35) commit over 50% of the homicides.

They ignore the fact blacks kill police officers at a hugely disproportionate rate.

And they just focus on the 0.6% of total yearly black homicides caused by the police (sometimes justified, sometimes not).

What a wonderful organization!!

It's Tarantino's worst film, tied with Death Proof.

Threadbare plot with atrocious pacing, cartoon dialogue shoehorned in to characters who showed zero sign of conflict or development over the achingly drawn out run time (including the least developed damsel in distress since super mario bros), shootout scenes which played out like only the most inconsequential of Call of Duty set pieces.

Waltz and Jackson put in great performances, but damn were they roped in to a vapid, juvenile snorefest. You'll find more introspective social commentary written on toilet doors.

I enjoy seeing Don Johnson get work.

One of those rare occurrences where everything about the movie is perfect except for the main character.

Jaime Fox performance was awful. It felt like this was the one time where the studio was like no Quentin you can't have Samuel Jackson play the lead he's too old we want Jaime and Tarantino went fuck you fine but just this once.

jamie foxx in general is not a good actor
how the hell did he get that oscar?
