That isn't what happens at all you fucking liar. Shrek gets tired of the family life and is tricked into signing a contract by Rumplestiltskin that makes it so he can live a day as a "real ogre" in exchange for a day from his childhood to be erased from history (which turns out to be the day he was born) and he's transported to a timeline where Shrek never existed. Shrek then has to find all his old friends, which don't know him in this timeline, and convince them to help break the contract and defeat Rumple.

Shrek is love, Shrek is life.
