The fallacy you are doing is that you think that there is ONE beautiful aspect about these generally good looking faces and by averaging them out it becomes more and more prominent and the things they DONT share (which you imply are the ugly things) become more and more subtle.
But thats wrong.
There are a NUMBER of key features and feature COMBINATIONS that make a face "good looking", therefore, you are doing nothing PROGRESSIVE you are just creating ANOTHER good looking face.
The data isnt clean enough for this process to work.
IF you were able to broadly define a single "good looking" key feature or feature ratio, and then average all faces that would be defined by that feature out, you would pinpoint THAT feature.
Atleast theoretically.
But you arent doing that.
And these features are mystical at all and pretty easy to point out without such a method.
