ITT: We discuss how Connor's introduction ruined a lot of Angel and fucked up the consistency of his curse. Did the writers mean to imply that somehow Buffy's vagina brought him truer happiness than the birth of a child he never thought he'd be able to have?

Also just Buffyverse discussion in general

He knew his son was going to be a disappointment.

And yes, what they don't tell you is slayer puss is the tightest puss out there and it coes equipped with a vaginal tongue.

Slayer muscles, bro.

More seriously, the knowledge of the curse essentially renders it inert. It's like a pebble in your shoe, it's always there, you're always anxious about it, so you're never happy. I think Wes outright said it at some point.

What doesn't make sense is the silly drug-induced soul loss bullshit later. But it's S4 and they were struggling for ratings.

Its best not to think too hard on it user, shit was retarded.

>Watching a show because you want to fuck the main character.
I admit nothing.

>Watching a show because you want to fuck a supporting character.
I admit that

>watching a show because you love it and it's comfy and you just happen to want to fuck the characters
Living the good life 2bh familia.

>What doesn't make sense is the silly drug-induced soul loss bullshit later. But it's S4 and they were struggling for ratings.
that's in season 1

Anyway the whole Connor thing doesn't bother me much, even when he became an annoying teenager I don't think he really ruins anything.

Season 4 is actually my favorite season, Wesley/Lilah, Faith/Angelus, Spin the Bottle, Gwen Raiden, that god-tier finale. I also think Jasmine is legit creepy

Connor was okay. S3 was when everything got fucked. Demon Cordelia was the worst, and a big fuck you by Joss to Cordy/Angel shippers. Why do you think Joss gets so much hate now? It's not because of his SJW stance or his Avengers shit, it's what he did to his old shows.

No, it's in S4. The shaman or whatever gives Angel a drug or whatever and he dreams of a happy family and banging cordy or whatever.

Yup. He's been on a lot of people's shitlist since S6/S3 of Buffy and Angel.

I didn't mind them all that much. The comics on the other hand have made me hate him.

And he shouts Buffy's name out immediately before he turns into Angelus

It's magic, it fools Angel into believing that everything turns out great and he reaches contentment. It seems really dumb and cringe until the very end and you realize it's actually pretty brilliant

Now the season 1 episode where the big-time movie actress (who I'll always remember as Morrigan from Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) giving him a literal happy pill which turns him into Angelus temporarily, THAT was fucking dumb

I think it's fair to say both are retarded. It's clear they were making up the soul/curse stuff as they went.

It makes sense though. He gets Cordy, stops the big bad and reconciles with his son. How the fuck does that not trump boning Buffy? I don't think it's retarded in the least

He imagines it's Buffy.

And it's not about trumping anything. It's about awareness of the curse. Knowledge of it nullifies it.

LITERALLY R3DDIT

>He imagines it's Buffy.
I don't remember that way, and I don't think it's something I'd forget. I'll have to rewatch it

>It's about awareness of the curse. Knowledge of it nullifies it.
He did lose his soul after knowing about it, twice, so obviously it doesn't nullify it

Found the hothead.

Simmer down lad, we're just a bunch of wild hunks enjoying some nice Angel related horseplay. Who cares about re-using pictures from the previous thread?

Pic related

>the angel theme starts playing

Which is why NOT losing it more often doesn't make sense.

>his reflection in the water puddle in the main fucking credits

And just because you think it's dumb doesn't mean it isn't canon, and just because your fan theory is kinda cool doesn't mean it is

>More seriously, the knowledge of the curse essentially renders it inert. It's like a pebble in your shoe, it's always there, you're always anxious about it, so you're never happy. I think Wes outright said it at some point.
Wes suggests that it "might" be what keeps him from being happy, and that he should stop worrying about. Angel takes this to heart, which is what allows him to lose his soul later on

LOL. It's simple across the board logic. You can't even remember the storylines you talk about, friend.

Happiness clause is the curse. He cannot be happy or he loses said soul.

Wes explains that given the state of the world, happiness is relative. So he CAN be happy and not lose said soul. OK.

Some magic hallucination makes him feel happy and he loses his soul.

No fucking through logic at all, dipshit.

I did it to spite you and only you and also since we were basically continuing the same discussion that was going on at the end of the last thread.

Yet he never loses it elsewhere. Not with Darla or Eve under a spell or Nina.

Angel season 6: what could have been?

the comic

Not enough budget.

Didn't s4 get fucked because Charisma Carpenter told Joss about her pregnancy too late and he had to re-write bunch of shit in a short time?

she was pregnant quite shortly before it started filming, and most likely showing 2-4ish months into it (easily hideable), so maybe like... 8 episodes at the least would have been filmed by then

no

i don't think there was any official talk on it. just some random halfbaked ideas. Someone said they may have wanted to bring back Oz for some reason. Though Seth Green said he was never contacted about it.

I don't think it would have been like the comics. The comics gives Joss the liberty to go full retard because he doesn't have to deal with ratings, censors, or people that generally know better (I.E. The reasons Angel was good: The other writers and showrunners).

But I do think it was planned that Gun would have been a vampire in the next season. It was somewhat forshadowed in season 5 in that one dream episode.

Why is she so perfect bros?

that doesnt mean they have gone on record saying thats what they wanted to do. the same bullet points would have been hit, just clearly with much less extravagance
im pretty sure they say it in interviews about the comics, but their basic plan was to split up the group, and to make angel human. the extra shit obviously came when they stopped having to worry about filming

Some people say she was fired because she was a bitch who showed up late and/or didn't get along with anybody and was a diva.

Some say she was fired because Joss didn't like that she got pregnant. And then he brought her back after apologizing in season 5, promising not to kill her off, only to kill the character permanently.

The world may never know.

I thought the idea was to always have spike be the one that became human, even before cancellation.

Someone user explained it pretty simply - She comes from a long line of Texas trophy wives.

>it's a David Boreanaz doing the most unconvincing Irish accent in the history of television episode

that was just to fuck with angel, i dont think they ever wanted it to actually happen.
on the spike note though, i dont think they mentioned in the blurb what they had planned for him (i cant remember at least) but he most likely would have ended up with illryia anyway.
i dont think gunn was supposed to turn into a vampire though, i think he was supposed to go into a coma like at the end, and just eventually plot wakeup
