The Cure

Is this some kind of a joke? How does this wanky goth band have 11 singles with 4.00+ on RYM?! What's next, Evanescence having albums rated 4.50?

>How can someone possibly like what I don't like??!?

The Cure are a great singles band.

You do know The Cure are historically amazing with singles, right? That and they nearly half of their discography consists of legitimately great albums in their own right. There's definitely a good deal of scattershot efforts, though.

>singles are only rated highly bc of the a-sides

>goth band

That's a horrible label for their music brought on them by uninformed journalists.

Did you actually listen to The cure

Might as well have been true on Pornography, if not really only that album.

>rym

OP is a giant faggot so obviously no.

did you actually compare the cure to evanescence

>Friday I'm In Love not even in top 15

Will listening to The Cure cure my acute faggotry?

the cure is GOAT tho

yeah, cure isn't even death metal

Woah, I like the Cure, but these ratings are simply overblown

this

I can't believe Hanging Garden was in the charts.

Why?

Even a close-minded guy like Varg Vikernes said Disintegration is one of his all-time favourite albums, so the Cure must do something right

I can see why KMKMKM could be perceived as a misunderstood masterpiece but honestly I think it's too all over the place to earn that designation. That's kind of its appeal as an album I suppose but I don't think it does any one thing masterfully so much as a bunch of different things decently. Also, you should probably switch modern nostalgic and troll option there, they make way more sense swapped.

Oh, and the underdog's champion? Faith says hi.

wish as 'the one everyone loves' makes no sense either

it's generally well regarded but nothing more, certainly not as highly rated as most of their 80s output

1. who gives a fuck about the singles ratings on some Saskatchewanian pitchfork simulator
2. most of those songs are good

>Friday Im in love rated so highly
Its literally the worst track on Wish

popularity trumps everything

a soft-rock dronefest

Eh, it does have Friday I'm In Love and it is hot off the heels of Disintegration when they really hit their peak stride so I can kind of see it. It released in the time frame where the most people were probably paying attention to the band.

I'd give that to End personally. Also, quality stops mattering after you attain a certain degree of popularity. I do agree that it isn't one of the better songs on the album, and in fact agree with Smith that Mint Car was a better tune.
